When I left Castle Grove two years ago, I never planned on returning. Heartbroken and lonely after Gabriel stomped on my soul, I found a new hobby behind the camera…and made a few fans. One of them decided to take things too far, sending me back to the place I swore I would never return. Now I’m living in the Savage Sinners MC clubhouse, taunted by the man that broke my heart.
But one night changed everything...
I wasn’t planning on hooking up with a hot stranger at a party, but his captivating eyes and sharp tongue had me losing my inhibitions and giving in. For once in my life, I didn’t want to do the right thing.
Except the man that f*cked me…he knows my family. He knows Gabriel.
And now he wants me.

i wanted more of literally everyone in this book except for emilia and gabe. but that’s all we got.
i wanted to see bash and xavier interact, i wanted to know more about xavier and dom. i wanted to understand what willow’s whole deal was. i know she’s eventually getting a book, but to read this from emilia’s perspective, it really just seems like emilia has one friend, and her friend treats her like shit, and that’s just…fine and normal. the whole willow thing really undermine’s emilia’s whole character, because she talks a big game about not letting her mom or gabe or anyone treat her poorly, but she has no feelings about the deal with willow?? it just doesn’t make any sense.
and i really didn’t want to spend any more time with emilia.
which, obviously, isn’t great, since she’s the lead.
i wanted to like her, but she’s just…very juvenile and kinda selfish. she can’t put her own feelings aside for even a minute when dealing with stuff that is not about her, but she almost never has any adult conversations about how she’s feeling and why.
she really just goes “i want…” or “i don’t want…” and that’s the end of the conversation. i’d just like to see more why choose books where everyone actually talks to each other instead of just fucking and fighting.
don’t get me wrong, fucking and fighting really amps up the chemistry and the tension, but as the book progresses, the characters should too. and they just don’t really get a lot of space to do that here.
or at least, the guys do, but emilia doesn’t. and i don’t know if that’s because these authors think that the guys always have to meet the fmc where she’s at instead of letting the fmc develop too, but i’m tired of it.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it’s her first RH. Overall, I loved it. I liked Emilia - she is sweet, but also has a little edge. She has been somewhat raised by her father in the Sinners MC and has crushed on Gabriel since forever, but their relationship is complicated (and he’s basically a jerk). After she realizes she has a stalker, she heads back to the MC. I have mixed feelings about Gabe - I feel like he should have suffered a bit more for his actions. But also, I feel like he was written well, as he definitely messed with my emotions :) I liked Bash, but I loved Dominic and Xavier. Dominic is psychotic and his obsession with Emilia is sweet, and Xavier is just spicy, hot 🥵 Overall, great story.
