These illustrations are just so incredible. There's so much detail, I could study them for hours.

Gustave Dore was one of the greatest illustrators of the 19th Century. In "The Dore Treasury" James Stevens offers examples of his best engravings: the book is 95% illustrations.
Dore was one of those rare talents who started to draw when he was four and never gave up on his visions and interpretations of some of the classics of literature and also the Bible.
