This story revisits the characters from Miss September, a book from the Calendar Girls series.A furious Renny shows up at the ball field after Colt’s game and slaps her wedding band into his hand before stalking away. His brothers, Bolt and Cord, are there to help tie her to the wire fence at the back of the dugout. Once they’re alone, Colt puts his all into showing his headstrong wife just who her sweet little ass belongs to. But despite the hot sex, Renny still doubts her husband’s love. Until Bolt steps in to clear the air and help Renny get payback.
Employed as an engineer, I’ve worked in an underground mine that went up—inside a mountain. I’ve swung over the Ohio River in a tiny cage suspended from a crane in the middle of an electrical storm. I’ve hung over the Hudson River at midnight in an aluminum boat suspended from a floating barge at the height of a blizzard, while snowplows on the bridge overhead rained slush and salt down on my shoulders. You can’t do this sort of work without developing a sense of humor and a taste for adventure.
A relative newcomer to the publishing industry, I read my first romance five years ago and decided to try my hand at writing. Both my reading and writing habits are subject to mood and I usually have several stories going at once. When I need a really good idea for a story, I clean toilets. Now there’s an activity that engenders escapism.
I was surveying when I met my husband. He was my ‘rod man’. While I was trying to get my crosshairs on his stadia rod, he dropped his pants and mooned me. Next thing I know, I’ve got the backside of paradise in my viewfinder. So I grabbed the walkie-talkie. “That’s real nice,” I told him, “but would you please turn around? I’d rather see the other side.”
It was love at first sight.
From her website: "Except for a handful of big names, authors don't make that much money. Over eight years I wrote twenty-odd stories but couldn't make a living as a writer. I'm fortunate that I have a second career to fall back on and have returned to my old job. Taking into account my current work load, I doubt I will finish another story.
...but it was fun while it lasted!
I am removing my books from circulation as I get my rights back from my publisher.

A pretty good 1/2 hour read about a wife who gets fed up when hubby would rather play baseball with the boys than pick her up from the airport. It all turns out to be a misunderstanding of course, and things gets resolved nicely, with help from some sexing up and a little bondage. Is there anything bondage won't cure?
This had a nice little emotional touch. You could feel that Colt really loves his wife. A satisfying freebie from EC :-)
Cute. Besides a pretty hot scene between the H/h (who are newlyweds) in the baseball dugout where she's tied to a chain-link fence while he's busy pleasuring her/convincing her not to leave him, not too much goes on in this one. The hero's name is Colt, with brothers named Cord and Bolt (parents must've owned a hardware store) and with names like that it got a little confusing, especially while the brothers were interacting after their softball game. The heroine, Renny, is miffed that her husband doesn't seem to want to spend any time with her at work (I'm thinking she's some kind of fashion model?)or at her work related functions, and she's worried that he doesn't want her anymore. She couldn't be further from the truth, because he's mad about her. But there is a reason why he's avoiding her outside their home. Now if only he'd stop being so overprotective and level with her...
I think if I would've read the prequel to this one (Miss September) I would've understood the characters a lot better. This one had some potential if I knew a little more of the characters' backstory. At least the sex scene was pretty steamy...maybe I'll have to check out "Miss September"...3 1/2 stars
Silly, unbelievable and boring. The female lead (who's name I couldn't be bothered to remember) was a walking stereotype of shallow, self absorbed women. The men were one dimensional puppets with no character or sex appeal.
A talented author could have pulled off this supposed sexy scenario of a woman being tied up at a baseball field to be teased and tormented to climax. Too bad that prose were so mediocre that I never made it to the actual sex.
There is far batter (unpublished) erotica that I can read, instead of wasting my time on this.
Honestly, I've read better Penthouse letters. Even though I got this book for free, I feel like I should be compensated for the time I wasted reading what little of it I did read.
This is my first read from this author and I am intrigued enough to look up some of her other work. The hero's name in this short story is Colt, which is fine, but his brother's names and his brother in laws name was brought up right away as the story started and they each had some dialogue and before I could get a good grasp on the character. It confused me a little as I tried to keep straight who the main character was and then thinking what an odd name his brother's have, Bolt and Cord. Made me giggle a little. I really like Renny's character, she seemed shy and quiet and would of loved to have that explored more. Their intense moment together in the dug out was hot, it just felt like there wasn't enough storyline which I really wanted because Colt seemed like a lot of fun. I would of loved to have Renny confront her assistant and then felt deflated when the author didn't finish Renny's payback at the end. As a reader, I wanted to be a part of it and not in the truck with Bolt and Cord as they were having their own dialogue and talking about what they were hearing back in the dugout. Overall, I liked it, just wanted more
Porn without plot. No plot what so ever. Not even an inkling of plot. Just a guy practically raping his wife with the help of his brothers. It started out decent enough and I thought maybe this one wouldn't just be a sex fest but as soon as the wife shows up, anything but sex is forgotten. Not worth reading unless you want some word porn.
3.5 stars. Very short story. Most of the time I feel short stories are too ambitious to tell a realistic love story in so few pages. In this case I think the author got it right. There isn't a lot to it but the story has a definite plot arc. The hero and heroine are clearly in love and deal with a small insecurity. I liked it.
These Naughty Nooners are far too short to do much besides be an excuse for sex scenes. I found the scenarios in this story amusing, but I'd rather have read a longer version that showed developing relationships and how the brothers interact with each other and with each other's wives.
If this hadn't been a freebie, I'd have felt like I wasted money.
Sadly, this was just too short. It's frustrating to read these novellas when if the publisher would just allow the author to write a few more words the story would be so much better. *sighs*
