Dreams come true only if you believe in them…

Haley Foster never bothered to believe in herself or find her dream. Growing up with a silver spoon in her mouth, her parents gave her everything she needed except freedom.

Fate steps in at the bus station when Haley bumps into Jordan Walsh, literally. His unpolished manners and rock star attitude rile her, though she is oddly drawn to him.

Haley and Jordan’s opposing personalities clash while on the bus–before they wind up stranded together! Haley finds herself in quite a predicament with no way to get home. Jordan challenges her to escape her wealthy conformity and go with him to New York, despite their disgust for one another.

Haley is enthralled with the carefree, in control and gorgeous Jordan, yet he remains a stranger to her in many ways. With his help, Haley begins to discover who she is and what she wants. She finds herself at a crossroads: go back to her old life where she merely exists or take a stand and chase her dreams.

Anyone who knows me knows I am a sucker for boy band and rock star stories, so naturally, Dream Catchers is right up my alley! It's a fun and wonderful read about a girl name Haley who literally runs into Jordan, an aspiring rock star. After missing their bus, Haley finds herself on an adventure she never even dreamed of... with a guy she never expected falling in love with.

Dream Catchers was so fun to read! Haley and Jordan would normally never interact. Haley is a rich, preppy college student and Jordan is a struggling musician. However, a chance encounter and a missed bus brings these two together for an adventure in NYC.

This is not my normal genre, but I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Haley and Jordan have great chemistry together. It was fun to see them interact and explore the city. And while the plot is somewhat predictable, there is a great twist to the story that is not!

Such a great, light read! I highly recommend!

Haley Foster has had every part of her life planned by her parents - from her future job to her clothing. She's never had to think about what she actually wants out of life, and she has never thought she should diverge from their plan. That is until she meets Jordan Walsh. Jordan is everything Haley can't stand, so when she finds herself stranded with Jordan & with no money and no phone, she doesn't think she'll be able to handle the situation. Not one to step down from a challenge, when Jordan dares her to join him in New York City for a few days instead of going home, she knows she can't say no. Will this time in close quarters with Jordan make her lose her cool, or will it actually help her find herself?

This was a fun and enjoyable start to a series of Rockstar Romances! When you first meet Haley, you will instantly dislike her. She cannot think for herself and is so sheltered it's painful at times. But, as the novel goes on, Haley grows on you, and you root for her to bust out of her shell and realize her potential. Jordan is fun and wild but level headed and everything Haley needs in her life, even though she doesn't know it. While this novel was a romance, it was also about self-discovery and coming into one's own. If you love a good romcom, check this one out! You won't be disappointed.

“We all die eventually, Haley. I might as well live before then, right?”

A rom-com about a 20 year old college student named Haley who has never done a thing for herself that her parents didn’t decide for her. She goes to law school because her parents are both lawyers. She doesn’t date boys unless her parents pick them out, or should I say force their lawyer friends son on her as a “suitable boyfriend”. Her mother even picks out and purchases all of her clothes for her. When college lets out for the summer, Haley is taking a bus to her parents and start an internship at her fathers firm when she gets on the wrong bus with a bad buy musician named Jordan Walsh. Even though their personalities instantly clash, on a dare Haley spends two weeks with Jordan in NYC. During these two weeks, Haley finally discovers herself and what she wants to do with her life. Maybe along the way she even finds someone she wants to give her heart to.

I don’t read very many rom-com books and almost quit this one 14% of the way in. Obviously I didn’t because I really ended up enjoying it! What irked me in the beginning proved to be the total opposite of how the main character really was. I found it amusing the adventures they went on and the descriptions of Jordan didn’t hurt either. It was a light hearted read that was enjoyable and I would recommended to anyone that is a fan of rom-com books.

I devoured this book, like, less than twelve hours with sleep in there somewhere. I literally started this book at 11 o'clock last night, and finished it before 11 this morning. And I promise, I did sleep, but probably not as much as I should have. I loved the development of the characters relationship, the insecurities that Hayley had to overcome in herself, (hello, why don't you just share MY diary while you're at it Sandy! (If I had one that is)) I could see most of the plot points coming, but I don't mind that in sweet romantic books like this. The other couple that got together at the end did surprise me, though. It had just enough steam, but it didn't come off as erotica, so that was nice! I'm definitely going to continue reading Sandy Lo books, starting with the next book in the Dream Catchers Series, Breaking the Moon!

Dream Catchers: A Rockstar Romance by @authorsandylo is a feel good novel that grabbed my attention from the start. It begins with Haley, a sheltered college student that has everything she needs just handed to her by her parents and Jordan, a carefree and struggling musician, sitting next to each other on a bus. Oh yeah, and they can't stand one another.

This is just the beginning of their journey as they get stranded together with only a few options left. So Haley goes outside of her comfort zone and travels to New York City with Jordan. As Haley continues to learn more about him, she continues to be surprised with what in underneath the "Rockstar" front that Jordan puts on.

This book is a classic (and entertaining) reminder that people are not always as they seem. Sandy Lo does an excellent job reminding her readers of this through a captivating love story. I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a light read with a developing, complex relationship.

Oh to be in my 20’s again! I adored this book and how it took me back to a much simpler time. I enjoyed reading about these characters as they learn to navigate life in their early 20’s. There’s just something about this age with so many possibilities, so many paths to be taken and choices to be made that is just really fun to read about. Dream Catchers was a really quick read for me. I loved the romantic storyline, the depth of the characters and I especially enjoyed the twist that was added towards the end also.

Thank you so so much to @authorsandylo and @bythebookvbp for the opportunity to be a part of this book tour and allowing me to have this book on my shelf.

Dream Catchers: A Rockstar Romance follows Haley Foster, a twenty year old college student, who grew up not wanting for anything. She grew up sheltered with her parents planning out every aspect of her life for her. Because of that, she never bothered to believe in herself or find her dream, leaving her feeling lost in the world.

One fateful day, while Haley is traveling home for the summer and she meets Jordan Walsh, the lead singer of an up-an-coming band, on the bus. They’re forced to sit next to each other and she really can’t stand him. Jordan is the complete opposite of her but somehow she is strangely attracted to him.

A mishap leaves Haley and Jordan stranded together with no way for her to get home. Jordan challenges Haley to go with him to NYC instead of back home to her controlling parents, and even though they hate each other, and she finds herself agreeing.

While she’s in NYC, with Jordan’s help, Haley begins to discover her passion, who she is, and what she wants. Haley then finds herself at a crossroads: does she go back to her old life with her controlling parents or will she stand up to them and finally chase her dreams?

If you’re looking for a fun, feel-good romance story with a good enemies-to-lovers trope (my favorite!) then look no further! You will really enjoy this book!💜

Dream Catchers: A Rockstar Romance is now available in paperback, on Kindle and on Kindle Unlimited! I can’t wait to delve into the rest of the Dream Catchers series!

Thank you, @bythebookvbp and @authorsandylo, for the signed copy of the book and for including me in the book immersion party!

I had never heard of this series before, although it was originally released in the late 2000s, but I’m glad I know about it now!

In my opinion, Dream Catchers reads like fanfic in the best way possible! The meeting on the bus, Hayley’s series of unfortunate events leading to her running off with a ~stranger~, & Jordan being the lead singer in an up-and-coming band really brought me back to my Wattpad days. However, this was even better because it’s an entire novel (and series!) instead of a half finished & forgotten story by a random stan!

After the first few chapters, I was pretty invested in Haley’s New York adventures with Jordan & Tortured (the band). The writing is detailed enough so that I felt like I was traipsing through the NYC band/club scene too, which was a great escape from my pandemic reality. I enjoyed Haley’s character arc as she found her true identity and passions while making memories and defying her parents 😝 I haven’t read a book like this in quite awhile, so it was nice to return to a genre I read a lot probably two or three years ago.

This book may interest you if you enjoy romance, rebellion, young adult, and/or the topic of boy bands 🎸🎤 Ultimately, I’d rate this ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5 stars! As I said, I have not read a book like this in a few years, but Dream Catchers was good and I want to see what happens next! I will definitely be reading more books from the series 😍

I am not a romance reader. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good romance. But, I normally like it embedded in fantasy or paranormal fiction. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this book!

I didn’t know if I was going to like Haley or not. She started talking about her wealth and privilege and it was hard to take her seriously when she talked about how difficult she had it. Then we get glimpses into what she means by that. I’m glad I gave her a chance.

I fell for Jordan as soon as he started playing his guitar. I have a thing for musicians. I like how he doesn’t take any of Haley’s crap and he pushes her to move out of herself. Their banter and will-they-won’t-they tension is fun.

This 7-book series would be perfect for those summer days ahead. I know I plan on reading the rest of the series now. Sandy Lo, you have brought me around!

I gave this book 4 stars and recommend it to fans of romance, romcom, and rock star romance.

Overall, I enjoyed this story and it was an enjoyable read.

I'm going to start my review with a content warning: this book contains the term "socially retarded" in two instances. I know for some people that will be a non-starter, and for other people, it won't keep them from enjoying the story, but I didn't feel like I could write a review without mentioning it. I came to this book through a promotional team, who brought my concern to the author, who noted if the book was written today (it was originally written in 2009), the term would never have made it in. In my research, I did find that 2009 was a "tipping" point for the movement around removing the r-word from our vocabulary (President Obama banned it from federal reports and the Special Olympics started a campaign against it); so the timing of the publishing of this work is important for context. Hindsight is always 20/20. The author did indicate that in any updated versions of this book, she intended to edit it out; when/if I receive confirmation of that, I will happily update my review to reflect this. I'm grateful to the author for allowing me to share all of this in my review and being responsive!

Removing the occurrence of this term, it was a wonderful story (though, I'm also here for more open door steam, if I'm being honest), of self-discovery and self-forgiveness. The chemistry between Haley and Jordan was wonderful and I loved watching Haley learn about herself and her gift and step out of her parent's clutches. It's a wonderful rockstar romance that any romance fans would enjoy.

Dream Catchers is the first in the series of the same name. There are currently seven books in the series 😱 with more to come (hopefully).

I read Fanning The Fame (book 7) a few months back as a stand alone. Yes, I essentially started the series backwards. I enjoyed it so I decided to catch up and start at the beginning. Well now I’m hooked. Let it be known I’m not a romance romcom kind of girl (and haven’t been for years really). However, Dream Catchers has me wondering what I’ve been missing.

This book and series deserves WAY more hype. I adored Haley and Jordan and their story so much. It felt so nostalgic to me! The music ,the first time love , the rockstar stuff (I think I love Jordan too) - ALL of it. The writing was witty and fun without being too clean but wasn’t over
the top either. Yes, there were even a few twists thrown in that I didn’t expect. I was so pleasantly surprised how much I loved it. If Rockstar RomComs are your thing, you will love this one. If they aren’t your thing, you may love it anyway. I did.

I can’t wait to continue their story and learn more about the rest of the band. I’m in - Sandy Lo you may have created a romance monster here. Yikes. 💜

Haley is in college and has lived her life so far as it was planned for her. A chance encounter with a sexy musician, Jordan, leads to some self exploration for Haley in this coming of age romance! As I was reading, it was a bit predictable as I expected, but then came the twist which I was surprised by! We get to see Haley grow and come into her own during her summer adventure with some love sprinkled in! I appreciated that the correct level of maturity was used for both characters considering their age. I found this to be a fun light read and plan to check out the additional books in the series!

I LOVED reading Haley & Jordan’s story! It’s a story of chasing your dreams and finding yourself, with some romance thrown in there too. 😉💜

Haley grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth and given everything she needed. Jordan is an unpolished, carefree Rockstar that takes her on a journey where she finds her dream!

It was a pleasant surprise to read of someone pursuing photography! 📸 If you’re looking for a fun, sweet, quick read, definitely check this out!

If you love a great romance as much as I do, I highly recommend this book. At first, I wasn’t sure about Haley because she comes off very entitled. But once you learn more about her, you understand her better. And Jordan...who doesn’t like a hot rock star?? One of the things I loved the most was the sentimental aspect. The whole book was just everything I look for in a great romance, and I’m definitely going to check out the rest of this series.

This book was absolutely one of the best books I've read in a long time. I loved the initial meeting between Haley and Jordan. The attraction, the laughable banter between the two, and the whole journey in between was so loveable. It took me back to the boy band days 💖 I loved watching Haley grow and be the person she wants to be instead of the person who her parents expect her to be. This is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone and will read over and over for years to come falling in love with it all over again

“Life is about falling on your face and picking yourself up. It’s not living in some bubble your parents keep you in. It’s not right for them to force their lives on you.”

🎤 If I could have written out my hypothetical dream rebellious teenaged fantasy...this would have been it! I actually saw a lot of my younger self in Haley with the parental expectations on education and career. But I did NOT get to travel with a band and have a hot lead singer write songs about me 🙃. But I digress.

🎸 Dream Catchers is a fun, sweet story about Haley being caged by parental expectations and the steps she needed to take to find her passion and her voice. And what’s wrong with having Jordan, a sexy guitar playing lead singer, guide you on your path to independence? Absolutely nothing! Every lady needs themselves a Jordan 🥰.

“Isn’t it funny how you can relate a song to any moment in your life? Sometimes it doesn’t even have anything to really do with the situation you’re in, but somehow, you’ll make those lyrics fit you. I guess it makes you feel you’re not alone.”

Music is just one of those things that speaks to you when you need to hear things. It’s like reading for me. Sometimes I see such parallels in the books I’m reading and my life that it’s like I subconsciously picked it because it mirrors a situation I’m in. Music is just like that. It makes you feel things. If you have ever been goo goo eyed over a boy band (hello New Kids On The Block, I see you 👀) you, too, will find this book precious and nostalgic.

Thank you to the author and ByTheBookVBP for the gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

I’m super excited to help kick off the first book tour with @bythebookvbp that was founded by the lovely @ladybug_shirls and @niks_nook 💜🎸

I met the sweet @authorsandylo in an engagement group soon after I joined Bookstagram. Before she was an author, she was a music journalist. How cool is that?!

🎸Dream Catchers is the first in a series of books based on the fictional band, Tortured. This book centers around college student Haley and Jordan, the band’s lead singer. They meet on a bus when Haley gets on the wrong one. Both of them harshly judge the other but they get stranded and have to team up. Jordan convinces Haley to ditch her summer plans and pursue her dream of photography while learning to love herself. Haley helps Jordan open his heart. It’s a sweet love story with Rock and Roll as a fun backdrop!

🎸My favorite part of the book is the tour through NYC! Sandy takes the characters to Central Park, The Bowery Ballroom, Manhattan Mall, The Empire State Building, and The Canal Room. I loved traveling around with them!

🎸Definitely check out this book!

Dream Catchers is a wonderful book that does a great job at showing life from different points of view. I love books where the main character breaks out of her shell and discovers what truly makes her happy. And musicians make every story better ;)

Haley has been raised, well, more liked groomed by her wealthy parents. She struggles to think for herself, let alone make impulsive decisions. That all changes the moment she meets Jordan. Jordan is edgy, moody, and a struggling musician. A series of unfortunate events lands them stranded together, and Haley shocks everyone, but mostly herself, when she decides to go with Jordan to NYC.

During her two week stay, Haley slowly starts figuring out who she is and what she wants. She also realizes that maybe Jordan isn’t so bad after all. And all that struggling musician stuff? Turns out Jordan is a ridiculously talented singer song writer who is the front man of an up and coming band.

Can Haley and Jordan look past their differences to form a lasting relationship?

For a sweet, light read with a lot of heart- definitely check out Dream Catchers!

Good news- this is the start of a seven part series! I finished Dream Catchers, decided I wasn’t done with Jordan and Haley yet, and immediately dove into the second book, Breaking The Moon!

Why I want to read this one... The author told Shannon Leto that 30 Seconds to Mars was an inspiration for the band in this book. You know I couldn't resist that.

Sandy Lo (StarShine Magazine): That’s great. I love when artists do that. I’m actually a big Thirty Seconds To Mars fan, and I’m a novelist. The last book I published, “Dream Catchers“–the whole time I was writing it, I listened to your music.
Shannon Leto: Oh!

Sandy Lo (StarShine Magazine): And there’s a band in the book and I kind of modeled them after Thirty Seconds To Mars.
Shannon Leto: Very cool, thanks! That’s VERY cool.

Sandy Lo (StarShine Magazine): No problem. I even put you guys in the acknowledgments for inspiring me.
Shannon Leto: Aw, thank you!

Sandy Lo (StarShine Magazine): Thank you guys.

It only seems to be available via lulu.com. Read the blurb there. The male protagonist's name is Jordan. *head desk*

Sandy Lo’s book “Dream Catchers” is one of those rare gems that take you on a ride that you don’t want to get off of. It is a wonderful mix of romance and adventure that will have you turning the page. There are a bunch of fantastic characters that are hard not to like, even when they shouldn’t be likable. Sandy weaves a story that is so realistic you feel like you are eavesdropping on the lives of the characters. I was easily able to identify with many of these characters; Lo hits it right on the head with the workings of a girl’s heart. The only time I was disappointed was when I turned the last page and the story ended. I was happy to learn that there is a sequel to this story entitled “Breaking the Moon”. I am a hard one to please, but I highly recommend this book.
