I bought the book just because it beared awesome title "Starcraft" in awesome Starcraft type. Well, I did like some fullpage size illustrations, but the graphics appeares to be a little bit disappointing. Just the fact that they have not decided which way should battle cruiser look like is kind of frustrating. The same with the storyline: it does not look like an integrated whole. Anyway the book is appealing to the fans of Starcraft series, and for me it is valuable of the very fact that it belongs to Starcraft universe.
Taking place between Brood War and Wings of Liberty, this graphic novel follows the War Pigs, a renegade wetwork team blackmailed into one last mission, hunt down and kill Jim Raynor, who is hiding on the fringes of civilization overrun by the Zerg Swarm and being cleansed by the methodical Protoss.
Decent story in the StarCraft universe even if it spends a tad too long on character backstories that we don't really need. I am a sucker for "Men on a Mission" stories so it did tickle ,y fancy there. Not having played a StarCraft game since the Brood War expansion for the original I can't say how relevant this is to the ongoing story and its open ending means I have a hard time recommending it to anyone other than fans of the games.
The game, starcraft have a long history. It was made by company named blizzard, at 20 century, and it is still being played by many people in the world. The game itself made the world game league, 'E-sports' active, and it is also the game I like. Not just looking at game and saying its just game and its bad or that kind of stereotype, the game starcraft's story is very interesting fun. Most of the character have their own color, and many stories are well made. By just looking at its storyboard, this story is sci-fiction novel. And not just its original story in game, there are some more official stories written by the blizzard. And not just this book, but I am writing review of all of novels about this game that I've read. If you played either starcraft 1 or 2, to know the basic story, it is kinda really fun to read these things as a fan, and also as a reader. I highly recommend this novels about this game to fans of this game, and also some people who have bad image about games. Story in games can be great as this! Blizzard's another famous game, Warcraft is also famous for its story. It is even made in movie! So don't worry about this game, go ahead and reads story about this game!
I like the way they explore parts of the Starcraft universe that aren't directly related to the games. The book would probably do well to go even farther afield, but I guess namedropping various iconic characters is to be expected from a tie-in.
