Blood Red was better. This one played up the historical aspect a little more, and I am not a fan of historical pieces, but that didn't interfere with my enjoyment. I just did not like this heroine as much. She was sort of all over the place mentally and emotionally: weak one moment, stronger another, shy, temptress, whiny, etc. It got a little exhausting following her and wondering which person she would be in which situation.
My other disappointment was that her sex scenes didn't wow me like they did in Blood Red. They were shorter and disconnected through most of the book. There was a lengthier sex scene near the end (like 50 pages from the end) that was very good and what I had gotten used to from Blood Red. But that was only one of about 10 sex scenes that I enjoyed like that....the others seemed to be rushed.
So those are the two major reasons I gave it two stars. I did finish the book and did not hate it, it was just okay. I will probably try one more of Sharon Page's books, but most likely will wait awhile. I hope I didn't read the best one first...that makes for a letdown with the others!
Holy unexpected smut, batman. A filthy vampire threeway regency romance novel? Sign me on. I'm going to need to read some Borges and Proust immediately after this to redeem myself...
Blood Rose is book 2 in Sharon Page's Erotic Vampire series. It is really similar to her first book. The main characters are two vampire hunters who fall in love with a half vampire/mortal. The male characters were hot; I could picture Jonathon in my mind. I loved the fact that he was this big lumbering guy. That was hot. Drake, the other guy, wasn't as fleshed out; I know he has blonde hair but nothing else about him is memorable. As in the first book, there is a lot of M/M/F action. The story sort of drags until 80%. To be honest, I'm not really sure if there was a plot. There was but really I just waited for the erotica scenes which were sexy. I feel like the story was filler between the erotica scenes. I guess if you're in the mood for some hot M/M/F action, this would be good for you. The ending scene was a bit improbable. I mean I guess she is a vampire; she heals quickly. As I was reading it, I was crossing my legs in discomfort. While the scene was written as hot, I just don't know hot it would be in real life. Then, again this is story about vampires - so I guess I should not be talking about real life in the first place. All in all, if you want to read hot vampire/vampire/vampire sex, this is the book for you.

Hands down probably one of the hottest hardcore romance/supernatural romances I have ever read. The descriptions will make you fan yourself, and wish for a tub of ice. And the cover art doesn't hurt....
This book was full of sex, seduction, and vampires. The book is loaded with many sexual situations, but also has a storyline to follow. I am not a big vampire fan, but this was a good book. In a nutshell, girl learns she is to become a vampire and two men vow to protect and pleasure her at all costs. Worth the read!
For an erotica book, this one actually had a pretty good storyline.
Enjoyed learning about the different characters, especially Drake and Sommersby, and how they, along with Serena, interacted and became involved with each other.
Some unexpected ending events and good character development… makes me curious to try another book in the series.
In 1818 London, on All Hallow's Eve Serena Lark turns twenty-five years old. That should be a milestone celebration for the young woman, but instead is a horrific upcoming event. As the offspring of a vampire and a mortal, she will turn vampire on that day unless vampire hunter Jonathon Sommersby and his partner Drake Swift can prevent the turn without having to kill her. It is already October 18th so the clock is ticking.
Malevolent vampire king Lord Lukos knows who Serena is and her place in his world. He wants her at his side as he believes she is the most powerful vampire queen ever as prophesized in the vampiric legends. While Jonathon and Drake struggle to keep Serena away from Lukos, they both fall in love with her whereas Serena loves both of her protectors. Could their desires destroy their partnership and friendship leading to Lukos succeeding or can they find another ménage de trois third way to enjoy the passions of life and love?
The key to this entertaining erotic vampiric Regency romance is Serena. She seems genuine as a half-breed human and vampire about to totally turn; as such she makes vampires and vampire hunters appear genuine too. Hot, steamy, and dark, BLOOD ROSE is a terrific historical as the lead trio makes love and war.
It was also good to meet Althea and her men Yannick and Bastien de Wynter from Blood Red.
Book 2 in the Blood series. This book is about Serena Lark, who was born to a vampire and a mortal and is destined to turn into a vampire herself at age 25. She has very little time left to figure out what to do. Fortunately for her, she has Drake Swift and Lord Sommersby, two vampire hunters, to help her out. Serena struggles to keep her secret from them as she falls in love. But, there is more to the story than meets the eye. Unfortunately, while the mystery should be exciting, it falls short. The loves scenes were very steamy, but seemed to lack emotion or creativity. Serena seemed to go right from lust to love, and felt forced, not believable. The plot was weak and boring. I found both Swift and Sommersby dull too… they were probably supposed to be alpha males but they didn’t feel that way at all. Overall, I was disappointed, which in itself was disappointing for me after I absolutely loved the first book in the series, Blood Red. I did enjoy the return of the characters from the first book in this installment, for that reason alone it is worth reading if you are a big fan of the first book. I am planning on reading the third book in this series, Blood Deep, and just hope it is better than this one.
I don't like historical fantasy, which is the only reason this has a low rating from me. For fans of historical fantasy featuring vampires and erotica, this book is a great find. I only read the first few chapters, but just in those first few chapters, the sex scenes were - dare I say? - scandalous! I've read a fair amount of erotica, and few novels cover that much variety in so few pages while still maintaining a story. I just can't stand historical. Pity for my sake, but maybe you will love this.
Once again I liked the book but felt it was a little fluffy. I like fluffy sometimes so it worked for me. M/F/M and I little M/M vibe as well. Great love story. One thing that was different was a scene where she takes both men in her quim at once. IMHO I didn't find it hot actually I kinda thought it was a little ewwww. I mean if you can take 2 cocks at once you might just have a little looseness going, lol. I did like that the heroes in this installment got a little sexual with each other as well towards the end. It felt right for this storyline. Pretty good, pretty good.

This book is one of the hottest Historical romances I have read!! The heroin Selena Lark is classy and beautiful. And BOTH her gentleman friends Drake Swift and Lord Sommersby and totally smokin hot!! I love the twist and turns in the story line and i love the dark erotic backdrop that sets the whole book! Its sexy and elegant with a strong yummy tension!!It's great ! i would recommend this story to any one! I can't wait till i can read the next!! 5 Stars!
My first Sharon Page book was "Sin" which was excellent, my next was "Blood Red" which again was amazing. The last two of hers have been a bit less than. I think part of it is that I need to lower my expectations. I'll still give Sharon a few more chances before the jury is out.
This book is totally a graphic and totally smexy. So you think that you already read an explicit scenes in Fifty Shades of Grey, wait until you read this book.
Very sexy wicked sensual. Loved every word. I loved the differences between Drake and Jonathan. Ones a lord and other a commoner but together the make a great team in and out of bed.
Sex. She wanted sex. But she wanted this anticipation, too. Serena Lark stirred sensually on the bed, enjoying the feel of silky sheets beneath her bare skin.
If I only believed in it lol
If you thought Fifty Shades of Grey was erotic then think again because there were some scenes in Blood Rose that even my innocent mind couldn't comprehend! However, I didn't like it as much as Blood Red because the characters had less chemistry imo.
In this book the roles are reversed - instead of two powerful vampires we get two vampire hunters (who are not blood-related) and a vampiress.
