Oh..this book should be put in my Top 10 Favorite, I love the adventure-romance, this especially through the Rocky Mountain, old western towns, Louisiana cypress forest swamp and Caribbean jungle.
Why..why not so many reader read Jill Marie Landis? Maybe not so many enjoy the western historical?
For me, this book is perfection!
Good Chemistry with reserved, sturdy Hero -Troy Fontaine (remind me a bit of Chandos from a heart so wild) & brave, smart, witty Heroine (I never met a perfect Heroine such as Dani before, she's real smart, real brave, real tough).
Hero keep denying his love to the heroine, but not stopping him for protecting & care for her through out their journey together...oh so sweet!
And the Love scene is very sexy hot. (Maybe this is the best love-scene I've ever read, very touching)
I love love love this book...

Quite enjoyable- a hidden gem. Takes you from the frontiers of the American west to the muggy depths of Louisiana and the Caribbean. Likeable characters and a decent plot makes this a good read!

This book had its own charm but it was not in the same league as the first in this series: SUNFLOWER. This story begins in the Rocky Mountains and then travels to St. Louis, Louisiana and then Tobago. It is the 1830’s.

The story opens when Big Jake Fisher dies in his sleep, leaving 18-year-old Dani alone. Since finding her, Jake has dressed her as a boy, so he could keep the orphan with him (in the company of trappers). Because Jake’s trapper friends expected to see a boy, Dani had no problem with them. However, other men were not deceived and Dani quickly found trouble.

She was saved by Troy Fontaine and Grady Maddox. Troy was acting as a guide to his best friend, Grady who was an artist. They have been traveling through the wilderness for 4 months and Troy needs to get back to his shipping business in Louisiana.

Troy has a dark past; his father was murdered and his mother disappeared several years before. Troy has been trying to find the location of the man he thinks killed his father and abducted his mother.

Troy and Grady take Dani to Jake Fisher’s partner in St. Louis, hoping he can assist Dani find her lost relatives; her family was from New York City. However, the partner is very aged so Troy and Grady decide to take her to Louisiana with them.

For me, the story really sagged in the middle. The first portion of the book was OK; the last part of the book was fascinating. The story is certainly an adventure story; I just thought there were too many slow parts.

Sweet. Simple. Funny.

Quick & fun read. Love a heroine who is unapologetically herself. I really enjoyed Dani's friendships with Leeze and Grady.

I'm a fan of this author, and although Wildflower wasn't as good as Come Spring, it's still a highly enjoyable story that captured my attention from the start. I haven't met a heroine quite as unique as Dani, and Troy was just the right hero for her. If you are into old school romances, I'm sure you'll enjoy this book as much as I did. Recommended!

This book took us all over the place. We started out west. Dani was dressed like a boy trapper when she met Troy and artist Grady. They realize she is a girl right away and take her back to Louisiana, and then she ends up following Troy to a Caribbean Island. I liked the book b/c it had some mystery to it, but also felt it was a little all over the place.

I seem to inadvertently choose themes! For a bit I kept unknowingly picking books about the deep South and the Civil War. Now I'm grabbing virgin books. Ah well.
