a placeholder review, for when I finally get around to reading this whole book:

"Survival Exercise" by Talmage Powell: Marines on a survival exercise in the Everglades run afoul of creature that wipes out their team. While Powell occasionally pushes his writing beyond the given frame of a likely record to be left after the fact, this is solid, entertaining writing in a pulp vein - a simple survival story, well told.
