Note: Some of my goodreads shelves can be spoilers

Overall: 4.5 rounded to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Plot/Storyline: 📖📖📖📖
Feels: 🦋🦋🦋
Emotional Depth: 💔💔💔💔
Sexual Tension: ⚡⚡⚡⚡
Romance: 💞💞💞💞
Sensuality: 💋💋💋💋
Sex Scene Length: 🍑🍑🍑🍑
Steam Scale (Number of Sex Scenes): 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (I combined two scenes together for my count because they were close, might feel hotter to you)
Humor: Yes, a bit
Perspective: First person from both the hero and heroine
Cliffhanger? No
Epilogue? Yes. There's a final chapter that happens a week and a half or so in the future. There's also a short epilogue from Gavin's perspective with some insight into book 3 (so excited!)

(These are all personal preference on a scale of 1-5 (yours ratings may vary depending what gives you feels and how you prefer you sex scenes written, etc) except the Steam Scale which follows our chart from A Love Less Ordinary )

Should I read in order?
It’s not necessary (Books 1 and 2 take place at the same time) but I think you might get a better feel for the world building and the culture of the Estreldez planet if you read book 1 first.

Basic plot:
Mabel has been omitted from the annual mating ceremony and finds a hope in incubating her eggs with a Krelin visitor.

Give this a try if you want:
- science fiction romance
- alien setting – this book is split between two alien planets with different species and customs
- I would consider this a touch more high tech than Earth? It’s not really high tech or primitive really...there’s elements of both here – honestly it’s just so different from Earth in a refreshing way (it’s….alien :P )
- huge hero/tiny heroine
- BOTH mains are alien
- a touch of class difference – the hero is a prince and the heroine is not royalty (she’s a scientist that does data analysis on mating)
- VERY well endowed hero
- a touch of forbidden love – the needs certain connections for his home planet, but he’s drawn to Mabel
- mind connection
- elements of other man/other woman conflicts
- higher steam - there's 4 full scenes (I combined 2 that were close together for a flame, so it might feel hotter to you) but they are very steamy, long and explicit.

Ages:
- Heroine is 20, didn’t see hero’s age

My thoughts:
Wow! I loved so much about this story. I wasn’t sure how into I would get because I struggled a bit with book 1. But in this book I felt the tension so much more between the mains and I got a lot more into the culture and world building here.

This book had a lot of little twists and turns I wasn’t expecting – it was really unpredictable to me the way everything unfolded and I loved that. The side characters were really fun. The effort into building unique worlds, characters, cultures was felt by me here and I appreciated all the details that went into it. I was definitely pulled into this world.

I really loved Mabel – my heart breaks for her because she’s rather alone and doesn’t really have a place for her heart. I think her and Trent are perfect together and I really loved their relationship. Her character growth was great but I could have used just a touch more of seeing her as a leader towards the end.

Trent I adored too – he’s very protective and caring and I love how his heart calls for finding a mate but he’s willing to do what he can for his people first. He’s such a loyal, strong character and I wasn’t sure how I would feel about him after seeing him book 1 but I really ended up loving him.

The steam in this book was *perfection. Loved it so much – so emotional to me with lots of fun details. Just the best balance of all that wrapped together.

My only complaint is

World Building

Cock/Hero and Heroine Stats:

Quotes/thoughts:

“You just can’t.” I didn’t know what he couldn’t do any more than he probably did.
“Cant be attracted to you?” Trent’s voice shook as he took a step forward, and I bumped into Gaven’s torso. “Cant want to know more about you?” Another step. There was some kind of clucking sound coming from his throat that sent shivers down between my legs. “Can’t want to find who my planet wants as my mate to seek peace, while also seeking someone I want as a mate for me?” He was toe to toe with me

On paper, I should have loved this, but I didn't. My biggest issue with this story is the fact that Mabel suffers from being a doormat while also lacking agency. She's supposed to this kind, self-sacrificing character and it's extremely infuriating to see her essentially give up all the time. And in cases where she might be able to exercise more agency, it's removed because the pheromones are oh so strong! he's so hot! I just can't help myself! I don't mind a little bit of body betrayal, but the fact that she's already kind of screwed in the other aspects of her life made it feel worse. Idk, she's supposed to be the queen bee and I have a very hard time seeing has an effective one.

I also was not a huge fan of Trent. He suffers from savior syndrome and tries to do what he thinks is right in the end, when it all would have been fine if he'd just been clear with her beforehand.

Writing style did not help me either. Huge kudos to the author for all of the thought put into the world building and character creation--all of that effort was very clear from the beginning and I'm a huge stickler for world building when it comes to sci-fi and fantasy/paranormal stories, so I really appreciated the details. Unfortunately, however, the story started to feel like it was regurgitating explanations half the time, in what I assume is an attempt to make sure you understand why things are happening. It ended up being overkill for me and I feel like I read 75% explanatory text and only 25% plot.

Two or three open-door scenes, worth mentioning a mild instance where the MMC could be considered cheating (really depends on where you draw the line, he kisses someone else). I received a free copy of this book and am leaving a review voluntarily.

World building to the max!!

"My kansa," I finally called him what he truly was to me, my mate, and forever part of my soul.

Super hot and engrossing story about Mabel, an Estreld orphan now turning 20. She is working as a fertility ambassador, but tragically finds out her uterus is defective and in her world, will be unable to bear children. Trent, Queen of Krelin’s son is hoping for a political match to bring peace and fertility back to both worlds. Krelin’s fertility methods are different than Estreld’s and together they might be able to overcome the obstacles. He falls first and banter between them is spicy and sensual from the start along with some interesting um…”equipment” 😁 . He can hear her in his head and knows she is a true kansa mate bond. Lots of angst, semi slow burn story with lots of characters and action. I didn’t want the story to end and I have got to read Luan’s story which is parallel in time to this one. Next up is Her Alien Insurgent- buckle up for one heck of a ride!!!! I voluntarily reviewed an author provided copy of this book.

I received an ARC copy of the book. Definitely enjoyed book 2. It's got fated mates, forbidden romance, action, political intrigue. The love story between Trent and Mabel is beautiful. Fighting for what you believe in and a coming of age story since Mabel doesn't know who her family is. I highly recommend this book of you read the first.

These books are deceptively good. There is so much packed into 300 pages and yet the storylines are never 100% completed. This is an interconnected standalone series where each book focuses on a couple (or group) but follows a larger plot line.
This book has all the emotions, anger, frustration, sadness, pity, annoyance; I experienced them all.
The book ends in a happy for now with a tiny glance into their future.

Trent and Mabel's Story . . .

Mabel works as an advisor to the Almder, the leader of Estreldez. When Mabel is rejected from the mating ceremony because of fertility issues, she also will lose her advisor job. Trent, a Prince from the planet Krelis, has come on a mission to Estreldez to offer a political marriage to Princess Luan, the Almder’s daughter, for the sake of saving his people. But he is actually attracted to Mabel who is his fated mate. As Trent and Mabel get to know each other, they discover critical information that had been hidden about Mabel’s heritage. There was a possibility that she could inherit the mark of a queen. How will this help his people? Will it put Mabel in danger? Will Trent be able to keep her safe?

From the bottom to the top

Commander Trent, warrior diplomat from Krelis, knows who he really is, and what he must do to defy his mother the queen, and save his hive. He must bond to the next queen of the Estrelds and unite their planets in peace. Mabel, the "defective" orphan Estreld advisor to their queen, is found infertile, loses her job in the palace, yet attracts (and distracts) Trent long enough to ruin everybody's plans - well intentioned and treacherous ones alike. This story of the betrayed son and the abandoned daughter who rise together to greatness is a a fabulously convoluted political thriller, a blazing hot alien romance, and a Cinderella fairy tale to warm the coldest of hearts. A genuine five-star three-for-one delight.

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review..

- Political marriage
- Special equipment
- Knotting
- Fated mates
- Dealing with infertility
- Miscommunications alllll over the damn place
- Over protective males
- She is freaking clueless for someone who is so smart
- And he is no better

Mabel is a mating advisor, an expert in her field, and she has always wanted offspring of her own. This year's mating ceremony is one she has been looking forward to most because she is going to participate! At least until she is given the bad news that if she carries a spawn, it will kill her and the only solution is to have her eggs removed and to lose her position on the Mating Research team. Trent is the prince from a neighboring planet, come to mate with the Almder's (queen's) daughter, to bring meaningful peace to their two plants and to undermine his own mother's plans to invade. What he didn't expect to find was his Kansa, his soul mate, in a woman he intended to mate with.

I love when a book can surprise me and I feel like Monster/Alien romance books are good at that. You are either going to get pure smut, pure chaos, or something completely unexpected. This book falls into that third category for me. Yes, it's spicy (I give it a 3 on my pepper scale), but it's a whole adventure. There is plot, and you have just enough extra information that you want to scream at the characters to just figure it out, and it's the best thing ever. Reading this was like enjoying an episode of Star Trek without the federation and with more smut. I was left gasping and threatening to throw my kindle if they didn't knock it off on more than one occasion. Was convinced I was going to have an emotional breakdown in my car at one point.

Mabel is sweet, and she does so much growing and learning in this book, it was super satisfying. She is strong, kind, and the journey she takes to discover more about herself and the life she lived was great, albeit a bit heartbreaking at times, but great. I am looking forward to more from this series, each book is a standalone but the plots are intertwined so I hope we get more and more.

Trent, or Trenton as we find out, is a great guy. He is trying to save their two worlds and get them ready for a coming war. He knows he can't do this with his mother in control of the hive, so he is doing everything to undermine her plans. He struggles with himself constantly through the book, between duty and what he wants for himself...even going so far as trying to find a way to have both. It was agonizing in the best possible ways, for me, not him, sucks to suck for him.

The world is rich, the characters are fantastic, I already have the first book purchased (twice because I have to wait for a signed copy, so ebook while I wait). I am sucked in and ready for more of this series and more of this universe. Gaven's story is next and it needs to be written faster.

Plot rating - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book took my heart and tore it into pieces. The emotional whiplash this book gave me, I can't describe. The book gave me all the feels - the hopelessness of forbidden love, the yearning, the realization that you can't live without them, and finally the HEA. I was very happy reading this book even if the miscommunication was making me pull at my hair.

Both the main characters were strong, emotional, sensible, and perfect for each other but shit at communicating (I know they had their reasons) but they eventually got around and trusted each other. I liked that they both were willing to set aside their feelings for their responsibilities.

This book had more of the plot and adventure with plot twists that I didn't see coming which kept me on edge, it was very enjoyable to read.

This book is perfect for readers that want to read a romance between two Fated mates who can't help but want each other but can't be with each other because of their responsibilities towards their planet.

Spice rating - 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Spice in this book was limited but the tension between Trent and Mabel was piping- hot. Both the mains were very positive and enthusiastic and emotional.

There was a beautiful spice scene under the moon in the middle of a hidden garden with fireflies that made me squeal and kick. The spice scenes were incredible and left me demanding more.

Spice element:-

Knotting

Primal play (cave chase)

Horns and wings

Fisting

Oral (many scenes)

Binding (one scene at the end of the book)

Well, well, well, look who finally came around to Trent's charm! It's like I was wearing glasses with the wrong prescription, but now I've got it right and everything is crystal clear. And while I was still trying to figure out book one, book two was already popping off like a firework show right in front of me! Talk about a delayed reaction.

But let me tell you, Sky is the queen of keeping you on your toes. Just when you think you've got it all figured out, she pulls out a surprise that hits you like a ton of bricks. And not just any surprise, we're talking big ones here, people.

But let's get down to the nitty-gritty, shall we? The story between Mabel and Trent may not be a stroll through a field of roses, but they were born to rule and take charge of their future. And let's not forget about the spicy bits, the sexy scenes that Sky lays out without any shame. As a reader of alien romance, you know I'm here for it. So buckle up, buttercup, because Sky's got a solid story packed with both thrills and solid characters that will leave you wanting more.

Her Alien Prince is the second installment for the Treasures of Trillume world and was a fast paced, good character/world builder and had that true love steamy chemistry. You can read this story as a stand alone but I would suggest to read the first one before hand to get a good feel for some of the world building. Trent is prince of the Krelis planet wanting to negotiate a treaty for his people and Mabel was rejected for the mating ceremony and wants to find another way to have the family she never had growing up. There are many turns in this story which took me for a surprise and I found the growing connection with Trent and Mabel really gradual. You ride the unsureness and guilt right along with them and cheer for them to work it out. I definitely enjoy this world and look forward to the next installment!

It's not even midnight yet, so I'm not sleep deprived as usual when writing a review.

I'm giving this 5 stars because it's got soulmates, hidden identities, space wars, betrayals, misunderstandings, love, an alien STEM girlie, ALIENS-- what more could a girl love?

I'm a bit fan of wings too sooooooooooooo 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ 5 stars. E 👏 Z 👏

Note: not really safe because there's a sensual scene between OW (heroine from book 1) and the Hero, after the Hero fingerfucks the heroine who btw is OW's kinda sister who was raised alongside her. The cultures on both planets are really different and so are their attitudes towards sex so if this is not good for you then 1) heed the trigger warning in the book and 2) there are tamer things out there than alien smut fiction, I swear bro.

Adios 🌊

Mabel is an orphan who doesn’t know who her parents were. She has risen to advisor and scientist of mating statistics and just found out she can not carry her children. Trent is a Prince of Krelin on a mission to mate for the good of his hive and planet. They are intensely attracted and seem to have a deeper connection but each have obstacles to their respective desires.

Sky continues this saga with more action, extremely gorgeous characters, and a complex plot. Mabel and Trent face betrayal, secrets, and danger to becoming mates. The path to saving the Krelin lies with the truth of Mabel’s heritage and Trent’s recognition of his Queen. This was really good and I look forward to more of this world!!.

This story was delicious.

Had a simple plot with spicy.
The spicy wasn’t overbearing or tasteless.

Both main characters were lovable.
The side characters were great. Well at least most of them were.

The bad guy of the story wasn’t much of a bad guy but not a good person either.

Overall throughly enjoy this book. Devoured it in a night.

If you’re looking for lust, family, love and Aliens this is the book for you.
It’s an easy read that keeps your interest.

Mabel and Trent have quite the attraction, but feel they can’t possibly be mates due to circumstances that makes it virtually impossible. It plays quite the tug of war on their emotions, confusing them and causing all kinds of doubts. The plot keeps deepening, changing, making a war almost inevitable.

Romance wins out

Another HEA by Sky Robert - this one had so many missteps you just wanted to give the characters a good shake to make them see sense! In the end, all is right and the right two are tighter. Though how did a human make it all the way to the Hive so long ago? Another piece in this puzzle and are the Trill really that evil or are they just misunderstood? Maybe in the next book we’ll get some more answers!

Her Alien Prince is a well written roller coaster of ups and downs, full of tension and danger with a steamy enemies to lovers love story! We’ve met both MCs before in Jewel of the Alien Bandit where Trent is a somewhat villainous character - treated with suspicion and hostility due to his species and the current politics. He and Mabel however create a tenuous alliance based on mutual needs and attraction that quickly leads to more! I could not put down this fantastic story which has become my new favourite in the Trillume universe!

Intense

Wow! This storyline was really intense. If you like your romance with lots of thrilling action then this book is for you. The political manoeuvring between the planets in the Trillume Star System are truly intriguing not to mention the undertones and pass doings are not always above board or at least they haven’t always been so. Sometimes it’s very difficult to tell friend from foe. That makes falling for an alien a very hit or miss situation. Feeling adventurous, well the book is waiting to be read. Have at it.

Gleeful Goblin Review: I feel like it's important for me to say that I'm someone who's happily childfree and has never even heard a single peep from my biological clock....so when I say that the author made my heart break into a million pieces for Mabel early on in the book I want there to be a full understanding of why that was a feat. Mabel is an oddity and an outlier among her people, has never known her blood family, and when we are introduced to her she has already had years of being told both subtly and overtly that she doesn't belong, that she is less than worthy compared to every other female around her. She has no hope of being chosen as a mate by one of her own people and fulfilling her dream of having a family of her own so she's had to prepare to take an off world mate, not really knowing how that will work out for her but remaining hopeful all the same. And then she gets this news: "I reran the tests several times myself after hoping there was a mistake with the synthesizer. I wanted to inform you personally before Almder summoned you, as all results are automatically uploaded for her this close to the ceremony. She likes to review them personally and verify electronic data with verbal acknowledgements to confirm their accuracy." She was rambling and relying on facts to help her get through what she needed to say. My heart pounded in my chest, waiting for her to reveal what needed her direct attention. This build up didn't do me any favors, but I couldn't blame Ezra for that. "Mabel, you know as well as I do that we've yet to see any estreld establish offspring with no endometrium to attach to. There is simply no place for the eggs to secure themselves should they fall." "What are you saying?" My voice quivered with fear for what I knew she would say but didn't want her to confirm. This would mean I failed my examination and would be disqualified from joining the mating ceremony. "Mabel, if you meet a compatible mate... you would be risking your life. Dropping your eggs without a lining is dangerous. They could try to attach anywhere to seek purchase, and that anywhere could kill you and the unborn offspring. The safest thing for us to do would be to remove your sack from beneath your shoulder glands. You could still have some fun without risking your life," she explained. I stared at her, stunned. I was twenty cycles... Perfect estreld age for offspring, for starting a family, and she wanted to remove my eggs. Gulping back my fear, I asked, "There's no way to wait until they drop and then safely transfer them to someone else? Or perhaps keep the eggs and is better than the cost of being 'helped'." But the trill could help me, I thought rebelliously. "Allow me some time to process this," I said, trying to sound stronger than I felt. I knew she would want to perform the surgery to remove my egg sack sooner, rather than risk meeting a compatible mate when all the off-worlders joined shortly. Their ships were already orbiting our largest moon, and they'd be landing once their examinations were verified. It was my job to interview the mating candidates, and Ezra wouldn't want me around any mates if I might be compatible. "Please return before the ceremony begins," she directed, her usual monotone, business-as-usual voice back in place. I left the labs and went to meet with the leader of Estreldez, Almder, to see if I could get her approval to continue being her advisor despite my new status as infertile. There was more at risk besides not being able to have my own offspring; my whole career was on the line. Not only was I half estreld and half unknown, I only had three loh and had now failed my mating exam. I would be cast to a new position outside the palace, because it would be seen as a bad omen to have a mating advisor to be infertile."

Having seen several friends struggle with the isolating and gutting fallout resulting from news of infertility I've seen how much pain this news can cause folks and I feel like the author did just an incredible job capturing a lot of nuances to that experience, even couched in an alien romance story.

With that context as the backdrop for our FMC I was absolutely enthralled with seeing how Mabel and our MMC Trent come together. It starts almost as a marriage/mating of political alliance type of deal even though there are sparks from the very first meeting. But there is a captivating relationship that blossoms between these two that is only strengthened by the difficulties they face along their path to a HEA. 5/5 Stars.

Wow! Just WOW!

I have read a lot of alien romance books but was totally enthralled by how different Sky Robert’s book is! The world building was so dreamlike and detailed. Robert’s descriptions were entangled right into the plot so closely that I could actually see the worlds in my head – as if I were reliving a great vacation.
The characters were engaging and easy to relate to – most of the time (shame on you Trent ;D). The storyline was elaborate and engrossing. This book is the second in a series but the fact that I started with this book did not detract from the story at all.
Mable was a sad, yet strong Estreld, dead set on getting her eggs incubated after being told she was infertile (the details of how she had this dilemma is well explained in the story). Mabel is an orphan who has only her plans for a family and her job to keep her fulfilled. Her infertile status is jeopardizing both and she will not stand idly by while she loses everything. She is a fighter.
Trent, a Krelin prince, is loyal and stalwart in his fight to prevent war. His plan is to marry the Estreld princess, Luan (Mabel’s friend). Once he meets Mabel he is fascinated and determines that she is his fated mate.
The plot twists kept me glued to my ereader and the sex scenes were hot enough to jumpstart my summer tan! There are no humans in this romance – both MCs are alien and I wasn’t sure that I could relate to a nonhuman FMC but Roberts quickly and easily proved me wrong and drew me right into Mabel’s world! (Does Sky have a magic pen?) By the end, the well-deserved HEA won my heart (like there was a doubt!).
I highly recommend this book and will be looking forward to the continuation of this series.

Mabel is an orphan who doesn't know who her parents are. She is different from all the other Estreldezians because she only has a few of the crystals that absorb the moon's radiance. She both looks and dresses differently. Now she is grown and works as a mating advisor and an advisor to the leader. She enjoys her job and responsibilty and is proud of how far she has come. This year is very exciting because she is old enough to be involved in the mating ceremony. She wants to start a family of her own with a mate. Then she gets told that she doesn't have a lining for eggs to implant in. To keep her safe they tell her that she should have her egg sack removed which would end her hopes of a family. She would also lose her job as a mating advisor because no one would want an infertile advisor. Mabel is determined to have her family and is ready to approach other alien cultures for a solution. When she hears that couple from Krelis spin a breeding sack, she wonders if this can help her make her dream come true.

Prince Trent is from Trelis which is ruled over by a queen who is his mother. He feels like she should step down since her actions are hurting their people as a whole. The queen is responsible for triggering their races fertility and she has been unable to do that now. The only way to replace her is to find a new queen who can bless them so he turns to the Estreldezians. When he sees Mabel, he is suspicious that they might be fated mates. However convincing Mabel to give a chance to prove himself will be hard especially since he had originally planned to be mating with Princess Luan. Trent can't keep Mabel out of his head.

Mabel is an advisor on Estreldez. Though she knows she has Estreld in her lineage she doesn't know who her parents were so there alot of unknowns for her. At the beginning of the story she is told she can't take part in a mating ritual because she will be unable to carry young without it endangering her life. Trent is a Krelin warrior and a Prince of his planet though he is not close to his mother nor does he believe in her ideology on war and conquering as well as controlling others. He is on Estreldez for the mating ritual and is also hoping to broker for peace and cooperation between his planet and theirs in the face of possible war between Trillume and their planets as well as a threat from King Sylve and his outlaw planet. He believes the best way to unite and save his race and theirs is a union between Princess Luan and himself but when he meets Mabel questions arise as he is instantly attracted to her and wonders if she is his Kansa/ true mate. Will Trent and Mabel have their HEA or will they have to sacrifice their love for the sake of their people. Will outside treachery and secrets keep them apart and ultimately doom their happiness and the fate of their planets or can they come together to overcome the many obstacles in their path. Check this story out to see. There are some interesting surprises as the story unfolds that I didn't see coming.

A Grand Read.

Sky Robert writes an alien romantic sci-fi tale with Her Alien Prince. This book is part of the Treasures of Trillume series, and this is volume two. As this is the second book in this series, I do recommend that readers read the first one, Jewel of the Alien Bandit, in the series first, even if each book is a standalone. Mabel is a very unique character, and she can make her family's dreams come true, literally. She cannot be part of the mating ceremony, and she is one who is not for following the rules or obeying their leader. She finds away to work with another species. Enter Trent, a prince on his planet, who is facing a war of his own, against a planet known for its hostility. Peace may not be an option, or one without a price. I'm a fan of this author! The characters are so real, it's like being with them within the story. Sky Robert has a great imagination. It's definitely an embraceable story. It's literally out of this world! Who could ask for more when it's filled with various aliens, and other interesting creatures? A very unpredictable story, my favorite kind! Her Alien Prince is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I read this book to give my unbiased and honest review. First of all you must read Book one before this book. Events over lap with Book one. They are the same timeline coming from another view point. Mabel is an amazing character-- she is smart, kind, loving, brave and thinks problem through A long with coming up with solutions. Most of the time. Except for her own person. She puts herself on a shelf due to being so different. Knowing she will never have a family encouraged her to approach Trent. I enjoyed the exchange between them in the shuttle. You learn so much about these aliens during that part of the book. This book is so detailed and these worlds are so complex. This is not a fast read or you can miss out on the details of these planets. Trent what a leader. Having the hive in his head all the time. Yet having the mental strength to hide his true thoughts. The way this book flowed kept me turning page's. I could not put it down. Their story was full of doubts, unsaid words to each other, and secrets. Once they finally open up to each other this becomes a love story like no other. Looking forward to book three to see what happens next in the wonderful series.
