Creedence Horse Rescue (Jennie Marts) Rescue Me (Debbie Burns) Magnolia Bay (Babette de Jongh) Big Chance Dog Rescue (Teri Anne Stanley) Fur Haven Dog Park (Mara Wells) I Hate You More (Lucy Gilmore) Deadly Force (Sharon Wray)
Lucy Gilmore is a celebrated novelist in a wide range of genres, including literary fiction, contemporary romance, and cozy mystery. She began her reading (and writing) career as an English literature major and ended as a book lover without all those pesky academic papers attached.
Wedding Tails is an anthology of seven novellas by seven amazing authors. All of the stories have adorable dogs involved that are sure to make your hearts melt.
SAVE THE DATE FOR A COWBOY by Jennie Marts
This novella is also a prequel to Jennie’s first book in her brand new series, Lassiter Ranch, Love at First Cowboy. It also features some of the characters you would meet in her series, Creedence Horse Rescue, which is amazing by the way.
Ford Lassiter was a last minute substitution as a groomsman for Brody and Elle’s wedding. Elizabeth “Bitsy” Cole is a cousin of Brody’s and is one of the bridesmaids. Ford and Elizabeth are immediately drawn together and Ford just can’t seem to stay away. They spend all the time they can together and their feelings start to grow. But, the weekend didn’t end the way either of them hoped. These two made me smile so much. Elizabeth was adorable and a little bit of a mess! And don’t even get me started on their cute dogs.
Two Weddings and a Husky by Debbie Burns
Tess Grasso is a dog trainer at the High Grove Animal Shelter in St. Louis. She has been in a relationship for two years with Mason Redding, the Red Birds’ beloved third baseman. Together they own a very high spirited husky named John Ronald. These two do their best to keep their relationship as private as possible. Mason is really just a country boy at heart and Tess has anxiety, especially dealing with all the negativity on line regarding whether she is a good match for Mason or not. When we are first introduced to these two, they are attending a high profile wedding for Mason’s good friend in Napa Valley. It was clear from the start how much these two loved each other. And of course, John Ronald was adorable.
Wedding Bells in Magnolia Bay by Babette Jongh
Okay, this little book was beyond adorable. This is a new to me author but I loved the way she told this story, with part of it being from the little dog, Rose’s point of view. I was completely smitten.
“Things didn’t always go as planned. But sometimes they turned out even better.”
Mike Miller is just on his way back to Magnolia Bay when his life is forever changed. A crash, a terrified little dog and later, a wedding planner brings a joy to his life he never knew.
Rescuing the Groomsman by Teri Anne Stanley
Jake Williams has returned from deployment with a brain injury. He now works at Big Chance Dog Rescue and Horse Ranch. He has known Charley Chance just in passing for some time but now she has moved back and with the upcoming wedding of their friends, they have seen each other constantly. There is an attraction there that goes both ways. But Jake isn’t the man he used to be and he feels like Charley deserves more. Can she convince him that she doesn’t care what he does for a living. It’s the man he is that she is drawn to.
Fur-ever Yours by Mara Wells
Sydney Worth is trying to work enough to pay her rent, and at the same time, is acting as wedding planner as well as bridesmaid for her friends wedding. A friend who keeps changing her mind and driving her stress levels through the roof. Adam St. John is a groomsman. He and Sydney have become friends but Adam has begun hoping for more. Maybe while helping Sydney, they can move forward..
The Very Best Man by Lucy Gilmore
A very cute story of two people that were meant to be together but maybe they just weren’t ready yet. But when it’s time, Caleb will do whatever it takes to win Jada’s heart.
Searching for Ever After by Sharon Wray
It’s the day before the long awaited wedding between Zack Tremaine and Allison Pinckney. They are marrying in a hidden chapel on a secluded island of Georgia. But the night before the wedding, the daughter of one of their friends disappears along with their dog. And at the same time, evil men are in the area. This one was pretty suspenseful. The only thing was, it was hard for me to grasp everything. It read more as a continuation of an existing story so for me, it was a little confusing.
I have enjoyed all of these novellas and getting to try out all of the new authors. Only one author was previously known to me. I did have two favorites of the bunch, Jennie Mart’s and also Babette Jongh’s. Her book read as a complete story, even with an epilogue and I am still thinking about it and that cute little dog, Rose. If you enjoy weddings and romances that include adorable dogs, you will enjoy this anthology.
Wedding Tails is proving to be a great anthology with dogs and romance galore. I always enjoy the Teri Anne Stanley stories. I’ve read them all. This short story is just as good. There is always a back story which allows me to learn something new and there is also always a good bit of humor. Sometimes a good belly laugh, sometimes more subtle humor. I enjoyed the mental visual of dogs accompanying each member of the wedding party. While I read the Stanley story first, I am reading the others as well. The individual books by the other authors in this group will definitely be on my reading list. That should keep me busy for the next few months. Thanks, ladies!
Wedding Tails is an anthology of stories perfect for Romance enthusiasts and dog lovers, each written by a different author. Covering a variety of sub-genres, seven short novellas delight readers with adventure, humor, thrills, and, of course, romance, with weddings and dogs at the center of it all. Fans of the various authors enjoy encountering favorite characters from beloved series, and readers new to these writers or series are sure to seek them out after these introductions.
I have been..impatiently..lol...waiting for Jake's story in the Big Chance series and this novella does not disappoint. Rescuing the Groomsman by Teri Anne Stanley brought me immediately back home to the wonderful characters and their furry friends that I so treasured from the previous books. The only problem...now I want more of Jake and Charley, their shy uncertain courtship is amazing and everything I wanted and expected. If you haven't read the previous books of this series please do, you will be immediately and permanently in love with all the characters of Big Chance Dog Rescue!!
Babette de Jongh's story Wedding Bells in Magnolia Bay features some of the characters of her Magnolia Bay series. Mike Miller helps to rescue a woman from a car wreck and offers to drive her where she was headed--delivering linens to a wedding. The two also rescue a dog from the roadside pileup. Mike sticks around to fill in for the entertainment and an attraction develops between him and Maggie, the woman who planned the wedding for her friend. Not wanting a dog or a girlfriend, Mike finds himself rethinking both. Charming story that introduces readers to de Jongh's Welcome to Magnolia Bay series characters.
Save the Date for a Cowboy by Jennie Marts introduces readers to Ford Lassiter whose romance with Elizabeth (who he thought was a friend's cousin by the same name) blossoms when they are both part of a wedding party. Both share a love of dogs and the outdoors. Ford brings out the adventurous side of Elizabeth and opens her heart to a future with him until she overhears a conversation. Readers can find out what happens in the first book of the series the Cowboys of Lassiter Ranch.
Other wedding tales by Sharon Wray, Debbie Burns, Teri Anne Stanley, Mara Wells and Lucy Gilmore promise to offer more couples, their love of dogs, and romances involving weddings.
Special thanks to Babette de Jongh for a copy of this thoroughly enjoyable book. I look forward to reading all of the stories.
Rescuing the Groomsman by Teri Anne Stanley I enjoyed the characters in this story. Charley worked at the Big Chance Dog Rescue in Big Chance, Texas. She was their new therapist. She was friends with Jake, who was a groomsman for Adam and Lizzie's wedding and Charley was one of the bridesmaids. Jake also worked at the Big Chance Dog Rescue with his friends that had been in Afghanistan with him. I liked learning about Jake's background and about the rescue dogs who would end up with veterans or first responders. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed "Wedding Tails" by Jennie Marts, Sharon Wray, Debbie Burns, Babette DeJongh, Terri Anne Stanley, Mara Wells, and Lucy Gilmore. How nice to have so many talented authors collaborating on one book of romantic short stories. Even though these short stories stand alone, the theme revolves around love and our furry friends! I am a Babette DeJongh fan and was so excited to read another one of her amazing romances. The other stories were also well written and enjoyable to read. It's so nice to read romance stories free of profanity and graphic scenes that are not needed to provide a wholesome plot. I would definitely recommend "Wedding Tails"!
Reviewing Searching For Ever After by Sharon Wray but I’m positive each and every book I’m this book are awesome too!!!
What happens when Zach and Allison re-connect after 7 years and their love is just as strong as ever…but when evilness shows it’s ugly head will they be able to find the little girl and their dog in time for their wedding or does the evil win? Loved this sweet, 2nd chance romance filled with lots of emotion, evilness at work and finding that love of a lifetime
Seven wedding tales that all involve a dog or dogs. So far I have read Jennie Marts book, Save the Date for a Cowboy. I loved this novella, it takes place on the weekend of Brody and Ella's wedding. Groomsman, Ford and bridesmaid Bitsy enjoy their weekend with their dogs, Dixie and Thor. Plus, an appearance of Shamus the mini horse. Now, I can't wait to get their full story!
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the novellas in this book.
"Bitsy" didn't really want to be a Bridesmaid at her Cousin Brody's wedding. She never wanted to stray out of her comfort zone. But she was going to try this weekend to do things a little out of that zone.
She meets a really hot cowboy named Ford, who is filling in for a missing groomsman. This was a really cute novella that I just could not put down. I think you will enjoy it as well.
I had trouble in the beginning understanding what was going on. One of the lines described me "you were lost, I was searching." This is a great story of lost love, a wedding, a lost girl and her dog, and evil doers. This is for Searching For Ever After 4 stars
Great chemistry between Bitsy, a bridesmaid, and Ford, the stand-in groomsman. A story that will touch your heart, make you laugh and wish for more. This is for Save the date for a cowboy. 5 stars
Nothing adds to a story like a little girl and a dog. This short story is part of the Deadly Force Series. All our favorite characters are present for Allison and Zack’s wedding. There is lots of angst. I really enjoyed this story.
I'm so happy to return to Magnolia Bay, I love it's people and animals! Babette De Jongh puts you right in the mind of the animals and I absolutely love it!!! I look forward to reading the others in the anthology.
I thoroughly enjoyed each story in this collection. I had read most of the authors previously, but the ones I hadn’t made me want to start. It also includes HEAs for some beloved characters including, Weezy (and Caleb) and a return to Fur Haven. A perfect escape read.
This is a cute rom com series, and even better than it incorporated dogs! I enjoyed it and needed the lighthearted read between some of the heavier books I’ve been reading.
I am reviewing the Wedding Bells in Magnolia Bay novella by Babette de Jongh included in the Wedding Tails.
I really enjoyed this book! It took me back to Magnolia Bay and the Bayside Barn with the wedding of Abby and Quinn.
The romance between Mike and Maggie was so sweet. It was even sweeter with the introduction of the "damn dog" which was later called Rose. She was the funniest thing. The bath scene had me laughing, meeting the cat Teddy came in a mere 2nd!
Reva and her friend Edna didn't miss a beat in having their hands in Mike and Maggie's meeting. Reva always has her ways of using the sweet animals to do what she needs done, ha ha!
This book was so refreshing and fun to read, that I'm looking forward to more books from Babette!
Babette de Jongh does not disappoint with her books. You will always find a heart lifting feel good story from her!
This is an amazing book with many wonderful stories. I loved it.
This review is for Searching for Ever After by Sharon Wray I loved this story, the couple getting married after a long separation but the flower girl and ring bearer have gone missing. Will they be able to find the flower girl and ring bearer so the wedding can go off as planned?
This review is for Save the Date for a Cowboy by Jennie Marts I loved this story, the relationship between Elizabeth "Bitsy" and Ford is amazing. There are some misunderstanding along the way but they are a perfect match.
