Many people wonder about the afterlife. What Dave Wolffe does is provides an alternative view of what some may call Heaven while others may call it purgatory. I choose to believe this version is Heaven except the only difference to this version would be to see God first. I love how the ending is actually open to choose! For a short little story, there was a lot of impact! Well done!

Reading After Here by Dave Wolffe was an unexpectedly emotional and deeply reflective experience. From the very first pages, I found myself drawn into Joe Golden’s journey, a man who, after a fatal car accident, finds himself navigating the afterlife in search of his beloved wife who passed away a year before him. What struck me most was how beautifully Wolffe paints the world beyond death. It’s not just some vague spiritual realm, it’s alive with color, emotion, and the changing seasons, each described so vividly that I could almost feel the air shifting as Joe moved through them.

There’s something profoundly comforting about this story. Whether you believe in an afterlife or not, Wolffe manages to create a space that feels both peaceful and real a place where love doesn’t end, but simply transforms. As Joe encounters familiar faces and strangers who help him along the way, the book quietly reminds you that connection and love are eternal forces that even death can’t erase.

What I loved most was how personal the story felt. It didn’t preach or try to explain life after death, it showed it through Joe’s longing, his hope, and his unwavering devotion to find his wife. That emotional thread held me tightly from beginning to end. I actually found myself tearing up more than once, not out of sadness, but because the book offers such a gentle reassurance about loss and reunion.

Dave Wolffe’s writing is simple yet deeply evocative, there’s a rhythm to it that mirrors the cycles of nature he describes. By the time I finished, I wasn’t just reading about Joe’s journey anymore; I was reflecting on my own loved ones who have passed and feeling, maybe for the first time in a long while, a genuine sense of peace about where they might be.

After Here isn’t just a story about death, it’s a celebration of love, memory, and the eternal human spirit. If you’ve ever lost someone dear, this book will reach right into your heart and leave it a little lighter, a little warmer.

After Here is one of those rare books that manages to be both tender and profound at the same time. From the opening chapter, I was drawn into Joe Golden’s journey, and what began as a tragic moment, his sudden death, unfolded into a breathtaking exploration of love, memory, and the possibility of life beyond this one. Dave Wolffe doesn’t just tell a story; he creates an atmosphere that feels alive, filled with vivid imagery and emotions that resonate deeply.

What I appreciated most was the way this book approaches grief with honesty, but never without hope. The afterlife Wolffe paints is not rigid or doctrinal, but open and compassionate, offering comfort whether or not you hold religious beliefs. Joe’s search for his beloved wife became symbolic of something larger: the persistence of love and the healing power of connection.

As a reader, I found myself pausing often to reflect, sometimes moved to tears, other times smiling at the sheer beauty of the language and the emotions it evoked. By the time I reached the end, I felt not only comforted, but changed, reminded that stories can be more than entertainment; they can be a source of healing.

Dave Wolffe has written a remarkable book that deserves to be read widely. After Here is not just a novel, it is an invitation to see grief, love, and the afterlife in a new light. It’s a story that will stay with me, and I believe it will stay with anyone who opens its pages.

After Here is a story that took me far beyond the page and into a place of reflection, comfort, and wonder. From the moment Joe Golden’s life abruptly ends, his journey through the afterlife unfolds with such vivid imagery and emotional honesty that I felt like I was walking beside him. Dave Wolffe has a rare gift for capturing the human spirit in all its fragility and strength, turning grief into something not just bearable, but meaningful.

What sets this book apart is the way it balances sorrow with hope. The afterlife presented here is not confined by religious boundaries but is instead open, welcoming, and deeply comforting, a vision that feels accessible to anyone who has ever questioned what happens beyond this life. Joe’s search for his beloved wife isn’t just touching; it’s a reminder that love endures, even when life itself has ended.

As I read, I often found myself pausing to absorb the weight of a passage, to reflect on my own experiences with loss, and to find solace in the hope that love continues beyond death. Few books can evoke such powerful emotions while also leaving the reader with a sense of peace, but After Here does exactly that.

Dave Wolffe has written more than a novel, he has created a work of comfort, healing, and timeless meaning. After Here isn’t simply a book you read; it’s a journey you take, and it’s one that will stay with you long after the final page.

Reading After Here was an experience that touched me far beyond the story itself. Joe Golden’s sudden passing and his journey through the afterlife felt so vivid and emotionally real that I often forgot I was reading fiction. Dave Wolffe paints the unseen with extraordinary beauty, blending loss, memory, and hope into a narrative that feels both deeply personal and universally human.

What makes this book so powerful is its balance, it doesn’t shy away from the pain of grief, yet it constantly offers the comfort of love’s persistence. The vision of the afterlife here is not bound by religion or dogma but instead opens a door of possibility and reassurance for anyone who has ever wondered what lies beyond. Joe’s search for his wife is more than a plot, it’s a moving symbol of how love remains unbroken, even by death.

There were passages that made me stop and reflect, others that brought tears, and many that left me feeling uplifted in a way few books manage to achieve. By the end, I didn’t just finish a story. I carried with me a renewed sense of peace and comfort.

Dave Wolffe has created something remarkable. After Here isn’t just a novel to read, it’s an emotional journey to experience, and one that lingers in the heart long after the final page.

I honestly didn’t expect After Here to impact me the way it did. Joe Golden’s journey through the afterlife is written with such tenderness that you feel every step, every memory, every moment of longing he carries for his wife. There’s a softness in the storytelling that makes you slow down and breathe with the book.

During one of our Union Square Reading Group chats, someone mentioned in passing that After Here had actually been suggested to us by someone outside the group, and we all kind of laughed because it already felt like the book had been “meant” for us. It fit the mood of the month perfectly: reflective, gentle, and full of heart.

We ended up having one of our most emotional discussions in a while. A few of us opened up about losing parents, partners, or friends, and somehow this story made those conversations feel safe. It doesn’t push you to believe anything, it just offers the possibility that love continues in ways we can’t always see.

By the end, I just sat quietly for a bit, letting the last chapter settle. It’s rare to find a book that comforts you without trying too hard. After Here did exactly that.

I’m genuinely glad this book found its way into our circle. It came at the right time.

I have to say, discovering After Here through Nimat Book Buzz was such a gift to our group. From the very first chapter, Joe Golden’s journey through the afterlife pulled me in with its honesty and beauty. Dave Wolffe doesn’t just tell a story, he creates an experience that speaks to anyone who has ever loved deeply and lost.

What struck me most was how universal it felt. This isn’t a book that pushes belief in one direction or another; it’s a book that opens a door for reflection, comfort, and healing. Joe’s search for his wife becomes more than a personal quest, it’s a reminder that love is the one thing even death cannot take away.

As a reader, I found myself reflecting on my own losses and, surprisingly, feeling uplifted rather than weighed down. By the end, I wasn’t just moved. I felt comforted, as though this book had spoken to something I didn’t even realize I needed.

We’re grateful that Nimat Book Buzz introduced After Here to our group, because it’s the kind of story that brings people together in conversation, reflection, and hope. Dave Wolffe has given us a book that doesn’t just stay on the page, it stays with you.

I have to thank Nimat for this one, she’s the one who first introduced After Here to our reading group, and I honestly didn’t expect the reaction it got. We usually all come in with mixed opinions and different tastes, but this book did something different. The moment we started talking about it at this month’s meetup, people leaned in, asked for the title again, and even started saying they wanted their own copies.

It’s rare to see that kind of shared excitement in a room full of readers.

For me personally, After Here felt like stepping quietly into a world that was both heartbreaking and peaceful at the same time. Dave Wolffe writes with a calm honesty that makes the afterlife feel less like a mystery and more like a continuation of love. Joe Golden’s search for his wife touched everyone who glanced through the pages, even those who only read a chapter said it made them think of people they’ve lost.

We’ve had so many books come through our group, but this was one of the very few that made everyone stop, reflect, and say, “This one is something special.” And they were right.

When Nimat introduced After Here to our group, I honestly didn’t expect the ripple effect it would have. One of the readers beside me, who’s usually quiet and never gets overly excited about anything we read, ended up finishing half the book during the meeting. She just kept looking up every few pages saying, “Wow… how has this book not blown up yet?”

That reaction alone says a lot.

What struck her (and eventually all of us) was how effortlessly Dave Wolffe blends emotion with simplicity. The journey through the afterlife isn’t written like some distant fantasy, it feels personal, familiar, almost comforting. Joe’s search for his wife hit a tender spot in the room; even the readers who normally avoid emotional stories found themselves drawn in.

By the time the meeting wrapped up, people were literally passing the book around, re-reading passages, and saying they needed their own copy. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a story pull that kind of response from a group that usually disagrees on everything.

If Nimat hadn’t brought this book to us, I might have missed out on something truly beautiful.

I have to say, discovering After Here through Nimat Book Buzz has been such a gift. From the very first chapter, Dave Wolffe drew me into Joe Golden’s extraordinary journey, and I couldn’t put it down until the very last page.

What struck me most was the way the author wove vivid imagery of the changing seasons into Joe’s passage through the afterlife. It felt so real, almost like walking alongside him through both familiar and unfamiliar faces, each encounter reminding us of how powerful love and memory truly are. Joe’s relentless search for his wife touched me deeply, it’s the kind of love story that lingers long after you’ve closed the book.

This isn’t just a story about the afterlife; it’s about comfort, healing, and the reassurance that love never really dies. For anyone who has experienced loss, this book offers a sense of peace and hope that is both rare and precious.

I’m truly grateful to Nimat Book Buzz for introducing this remarkable story to our group. And I have to commend Dave Wolffe. After Here is more than a novel, it’s an experience I’ll carry with me.

I’ll be honest, when someone outside our Union Square Reading Group first recommended After Here to us, I didn’t know what to expect. But from the very first chapter, I realized this wasn’t just another “afterlife story.” Dave Wolffe writes with such tenderness and clarity that you forget you're reading fiction and start feeling like you're walking right beside Joe Golden through every moment.

The way the book blends grief, hope, and love is honestly stunning. Joe’s search for his wife isn’t dramatic in a loud way, it’s soft, patient, and deeply emotional. I think that’s why it hit so hard for many of us in the group.

We ended up having one of our longest discussions of the year because everyone connected with something different, a memory, a loss, a question about what comes next. Any book that can pull honesty like that out of a room full of readers deserves all the stars available.

If you’ve ever lost someone or even just wondered about what lies beyond, After Here will touch you in ways you may not expect. I’m really glad it found its way into our club.

Someone brought After Here to our Moontower Sci-Fi & Fantasy Book Club, saying it was something quietly special, and they were absolutely right. We ended up having one of the most heartfelt discussions we’ve had in a while. The story stayed with many of us long after we closed the book.

Dave Wolffe takes a theme as vast as the afterlife and makes it deeply personal. Following Joe Golden through the seasons of heaven felt like walking through memory itself, tender, haunting, and filled with quiet beauty. Each chapter carries a sense of peace that gently lingers, even when the emotions run deep.

What we all appreciated most was how After Here doesn’t try to “explain” heaven, it feels it. It imagines the beyond not as an escape, but as a continuation of love. That idea resonated deeply with our group. It’s rare to find a story that brings both comfort and wonder in the same breath, but this one does, gracefully.

Someone recently introduced After Here to our Union Square Reading Group, and I’m honestly glad they did. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, a story about life after death can easily feel distant, but Dave Wolffe wrote it in such a human, deeply relatable way that it never once felt abstract.

Joe Golden’s journey after his accident isn’t just about heaven; it’s about love that refuses to die, memory that lingers, and the quiet hope that maybe, just maybe, we’ll meet those we’ve lost again. The imagery and pacing make you see every scene like you’re walking beside Joe through each season.

What really moved me was how everyone in our group found something personal in it, one member said it helped her see her father’s passing differently, and I completely understood what she meant.

This isn’t just a book you read. It’s one you feel. I’m genuinely grateful someone brought it to our club. After Here reminded me why I read in the first place.

I’m so glad After Here was introduced to our group by Nimat Book Buzz, what an unforgettable read! Dave Wolffe has written a story that doesn’t just entertain, it truly speaks to the heart. Following Joe Golden through his afterlife journey felt like stepping into a world of beauty, loss, and love that refuses to fade.

The way each season was described pulled me in completely, and Joe’s determination to reunite with his wife reminded me of the strength of real love. This book isn’t just about the afterlife, it’s about finding hope and comfort in the midst of grief, and that message resonated deeply with us.

It’s rare to find a book that feels both healing and inspiring at the same time, but After Here does exactly that. A huge thank-you to Dave Wolffe for such a moving piece of work, and to Nimat Book Buzz for bringing it into our circle.

Reading After Here was an experience I won’t forget. From the very beginning, I felt like I was walking beside Joe Golden, seeing what he saw, feeling what he felt. The way Dave Wolffe paints the afterlife with such vivid imagery made me stop more than once just to let the words sink in.

What really touched me was Joe’s devotion to finding his wife. That thread of love running through the story gave me chills, and honestly brought me to tears. It’s rare to find a book that can be both heartbreaking and comforting at the same time, but this one truly is.

Here is a beautifully written and deeply comforting story that explores life, loss, and what may lie beyond in a gentle, non-imposing way. The concept alone is incredibly moving, following Joe Golden’s journey after death as he searches for his beloved wife, creating an emotional depth that many readers will instantly connect with. The author’s approach to the afterlife feels thoughtful and open-ended, allowing readers to reflect and form their own interpretations rather than being guided by doctrine. What truly stands out is the message of hope and healing woven throughout the story. This book feels like a warm companion for anyone navigating grief, offering reassurance, reflection, and a sense of peace. A meaningful and touching read that lingers long after the final page.

Someone suggested After Here to our San Francisco “Not Quite a Book Club,” and I’m so glad they did. We didn’t know what to expect, a story about life after death usually feels heavy, but this one was different.

Dave Wolffe writes with such calm and sincerity that it doesn’t feel sad at all. Joe’s journey to find his wife after passing on is touching in the simplest, most human way. When we talked about it in our group, a few of us admitted it brought back memories of people we’ve lost, but in a strangely comforting way.

It reminded us that love really doesn’t end, it just changes shape.
We don’t often agree on every book, but this one touched everyone in the room.

From the very first chapters, many of us felt an immediate connection to Joe Golden’s journey. It’s written with a blend of honesty, gentleness, and emotional depth that makes the story linger long after you’ve set the book down.
