The Betrayal’ which kicks off the Tempests gangland series was the first book of Kerry Kaya that I read. This continues from the previous book and is best read serially.

In the previous book, Tracey Tempest’s husband Terry was murdered. Tracey is shocked & shamed as she learns of the the kind of business Terry & his partner Kenny Kempton were involved in. There is also the talk of the extra-marital affairs which Terry had, and Tracey realizes that she has been a very gullible wife. Tracey now grows close to Max Hardcastle, who has had a hard past life. Her sons Ricky & Jamie now work with Max and are initially wary of their mother’s developing relationship. Max’s main business is a car showroom and there is an arson attack which guts it completely in a fire. There are some people out to destroy Max and is unclear if it has anything to do with the Tempests, including Terry’s murder. Tracey wants to steer her family away from illegal activities and violence but the activities of the past carry consequences. There are also tensions with her mother-in-law that she must contend with.

Like the previous book, this is a page turner. I like the Kerry Kaya’s writing style – honest & straightforward storytelling without pretentious twists. As a result, there was not much to surprise me, and yet, I was hooked from start to finish as the pace is excellent & tension sustains right through. The epilogue was well written, in many ways bringing the closure which most readers would hope for. The inner voices of the characters are uncovered only fleetingly and that could have been better. This book seems to bring the events of the previous book to a close, so assuming there is another book in the series, possibly it may kick off a new sub-story.

A good relaxing read. Thanks to Netgalley, Boldwood Books & the author for a free electronic review copy.

My rating: 4.25 / 5.

Kerry Kaya roars fiercely back into action with this the 2nd book in the Tempest series,in her no nonsense and very real way we are back with the characters from Book 1 ( and a few new ones ) and Revenge is certainly the word of the day,the question is who will get it?,when?and how? The book takes us through the various scenarios and as it does we get to know what makes the individuals tick, who is goodz and who is evil…..I have to mention Patricia who is a wonderful character to read
Such good writing along with brilliant sub stories make this a book I loved and now look forward to Book 3 😊

The Tempests #2

After the brutal gangland murder of her husband Terry, Tracey Tempest just wants to move on. She'll never get over Terry's betrayal, but she's determined his shady past won't spoil life for her and her beloved boys, Ricky and Jamie. Max Hardcastle just wants a quiet life and to maybe see how things go Between him and Tracey. He knows she's been hurt in the past, but he's nothing like Terry and he'll do anything to keep Tracey happy and safe. But some people have other ideas.

Tracey Tempest is a woman you wouldn't want to mess with. She has a new love interest in her life, Max, who he helped to get justice for her husband Terry's murder. I was instantly pulled into this story. It's well written, with strong characters, it's gripping, and I did not want to put the book down. All the old characters are back and we meet some new ones too. But we need to find out which are the good characters. We also get a couple of sub plots running through the book. Even though I gave the first book Betrayal 5 stars, I enjoyed this book a little more.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks and the author #KerryKaya for my ARC of #Revenge in exchange for an honest review.

Being quite hard to please with these type of my favourite genres I was pleasantly surprised.
It was a great page turner with lots of twists I wasn’t expecting.
We were first introduced to the Tempests family in Kerry Kaya’s first book in this series The Betrayal. Although I definitely enjoyed this one a lot more.
Tracey Tempest has finally found out the truth about her husbands Terrys shady past.
Along with her sons Ricky and Jamie she attempts to re build her life again.
With Max Hardcastle now a permanent man in her life she hopes they can move forward and leave the past behind.
But Max has enemies that put not only him in danger but the Tempest family too.
As secrets start to come out that will destroy Tracey Tempest, other revelations will blow everything up for Max, Ricky and Jamie.
I’m really enjoying this author and her books are getting better and better.

Revenge is the second book in the Tempest Family series by Kerry Kaya. Having read and loved the first book ‘Betrayal’ I was really looking forward to settling down with my kindle to read this second book. The title of the book is perfect as it’s all about Revenge. To say I enjoyed this follow up book is an understatement as it wasn’t just good, it was absolutely brilliant. We meet back with characters we were introduced to in book one and also some new characters are brought in. The author writes the characters so well , you can almost sense their presence as you read this book. This book had me hooked from the first chapter, it’s a fast paced and tension filled read. Betrayal is another fantastic read and although I loved the first book in the series this one was in my opinion even better. It can be read as a standalone but I would strongly suggest reading the first book to get a better understanding of the different characters. Without any hesitation this was a 5⭐️ read for me.

The Tempests are a family I was absolutely captivated by in the first book. Revenge is the follow-up, and I couldn't help but grin when I knew I had a copy of the book! Kerry Kaya hasn't written a bad book yet, and by this books' standards, I dare say she never will!

Tracy Tempest has dealt with the fallout from her husbands death. She is after a quiet life. As long as her boys are fine, she is happy. Max is still around, and everything's ticking over nicely until it's not! Max's car garage is torched, and it seems someone's not happy, but who? And why? There are some secrets still that Tracy is yet to find out about and find out she does. What will the outcome be? Will it be war on all fronts or not?

I love Tracy. If there was ever a strong woman, she is exactly that! Kerry Kaya certainly keeps the action, and the fire in the Tempest story fanned to the fullest with Revenge. All the familiar characters return from the first book, and there are a few new ones added to get to know.

Kerry Kaya's style of writing just sucks me right in straight away. I feel like I'm back with a family I know so well. Her characterisations are excellent and give an authentic feel to them. The grit and down to earth feel is still there, too. I now think of Kerry as being on a par with Mandasue Heller or Kimberley Chambers. She writes as well as these other authors with as much realism, too.

I read Revenge in one sitting, I just didn't want to stop reading. I needed to know how it would all pan out for them all. I almost inhaled this book. It went so quickly. Before I knew it, I was at the epilogue, which was a fabulous one, I must say! There was never a dull moment reading this. The action and tension were right there constantly. Yes, another belter from Kerry Kaya and I am now sad, because I have to wait for another book!

Ooh there was some nasty characters in this book. Some redeemed themselves namely Patricia but Raymond and Alfie not nice !
Max Hardcastle is devastated when his garage empire is burnt to the ground. He leaves no stone unturned trying to find the culprit. Good main story and back story too.
I felt the pace really increased at the end too . A great read

There is further strife in store for the Tempest family in the second chilling installment of Kerry Kaya’s gangland family saga: Revenge.

After her husband Terry’s brutal murder, Tracey Tempest just wanted to put everything behind her and move on. Although Tracey knows that she will never forget or get over her husband’s betrayal, she will not let his shady past ruin the rest of her life and that of her boys, Ricky and Jamie. Things are looking up for Tracey as she has found herself growing closer and closer to Max Hardcastle who is nothing like Terry, however, she quickly realises that you can never outrun your past – and this time around it will be Max who will be in the frame…

Keeping Tracey safe is Max’s number one priority. Unlike Terry, Max just wants to lead a quite life free from stress, pressure and upheaval. However, little does he realise that his relationship with Tracey has put him in the firing line – as he discovers when his car garage is torched. Does Max know what he has got himself into? Is he going to live to regret his relationship with Tracey? Or will he end up paying the ultimate price for getting involved with Tracey Tempest?

However, Max isn’t as squeaky clean as everyone had thought as Ricky and Jamie discover. Could Max’s secret end up tearing the Tempest family apart forever?

Kerry Kaya’s Revenge is an explosive gangland thriller packed with action, tension, danger and twists and turns aplenty. Revenge is a dark, menacing and chilling read where the pace does not flag, the characters leap off the pages and the shocks and revelations come so thick and fast you will find yourself barely able to catch your breath.

Gritty, terrifying and hard to put down, Kerry Kaya’s Revenge is a terrific gangland saga featuring the Tempest family perfect for Kimberley Chambers fans.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Revenge by Kerry Kaya is the second book in the fantastic gritty gangland Tempest series, and this one was another 5 star read. It was a roller coaster ride from the beginning till the end that will have you gripped and glued to you kindle. Just Superb and another 5 star read.

Tracy Tempest was happily married too Terry. They have two grown sons Ricky and Jamie, who are the apple of their eyes. Terry was murdered and now Tracy is coming to terms with just what her So called perfect husband did for a living! It seems that she was the only one who didn't know what kind of business her perfect husband did. Even their two sons Ricky and Jamies, knew what their dad did and they where apart of it as well and have been there with him for years, just by his side!.

Two years go by and Tracy is slowly trying to move on. She has started a new relationship with Max Hardcastle, He is not perfect and has a shady past. All Max wants is a quiet life now, But, his past is catching up with him, someone is out to destroy him and his business empire. His car garage does up in flames and has no idea who is behind it.

Max Hardcastle has to find out who set light to his car garage before they destroy his other businesses. He has to work quickly with the help of Ricky and Jamie. But, Secrets are about to be discovered about their dad Terry. It's a big one and the fallout could tear their whole family apart.

Will the Tempests survive this storm?

Or will revenge be their downfall?

I highly recommend this book!

Biggest Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books the publisher for my copy. I loved it!

Kerry Kaya certainly knows how to write a cracker of a read and entertain her readers with her excellent writing. I absolutely loved this book and devoured it in less than a day. It is one of those moreish reads where every spare minute I had I would return to my kindle and continue reading. This is such a well written book with mostly likeable characters. I always think the author has done their job when I have such hatred and loathing for some of the characters, and this is exactly how I felt towards a couple of them here. This was, right from the start, a book that immediately grabbed my attention and held it all the way through to the end. I loved everything about it - the plot line, the multiple story threads told through different characters and the way the story changed from one character to the next one flawlessly. The last part of the book was full of action and I had to keep turning the pages as I wanted to know what would come next. Revenge raced to a thrilling ending and I loved the epilogue, it gave the book the best closure. If you like gangland, crime books then this will certainly be for you and I'd recommend it although would say read the books in order to get to know the characters from the beginning, and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

This is book 2 in the Tempest Series. I can feel myself warming to Tracey in this book. It’s good to see her and Max making a go of things. They just need to let the boys know ….. 🤔 there are a couple of bits in the book with Tracey and her mother-in-law, their arguments had me in stitches 😂 . I can’t wait to see what happens next! No pressure Kerry 😉 xx

Second book in this series and when I started reading it, I hoped it would be as good as the first one. I enjoyed getting to know the Tempest family although they are not (always) the most friendly people. Some of them even are evil through and through, but that is exactly what you need when you create a gangland crime. Harsh, vicious, revengeful, those are the characteristics of the people who play the main parts.

But there are also good sites to some of them. They would walk through fire for those they trust and cherish, but in a gangland crime you never know who is your mate and who you have to be suspicious of. People who have known almost all your life and had the best relationship with, can suddenly be the ones to stab you in the back. Others prove again and again you can count on them.

Revenge is often the key word in this kind of books. The one question that remains is who is out to get who? Are you ever safe in this world?

Gangland crime is not always about violence. There is time for love and friendship too.

The author wrote a fabulous book with great characters and showed us that even the most spiteful people can suddenly see the light too. I loved it. 5 stars

Thank you

When the Tempest boys discover one last secret their dad was keeping the fall out could tear the family apart. Can they pull together and survive?or will REVENGE be their downfall?

Dagenham Essex, Book Two and Revenge is a action packed full on cracking book, and Kaya has once again fulfilled my reading, this book has it all, a gangland crime with a spot of love and romance and family fall outs added.

Tracey Tempest moves on with new love Max Hardcastle , and when his showroom his livelihood goes up in smoke, who is targeting him and why? leaving Tracey finding out some home truths about the business, that her sons know all about.

A must read from start to finish for me, its better that book two as we get to know more of the characters that you either love or hate that brings out the best in the chapters. I loved reading and now to twiddle my fingers to await book three that to me is a good story in my books.

be prepared, be scared, if you dare, it really is a cracker.

Revenge By Kerry Kaya

This is not the first book I have read from this author. I am currently working my way through her books and enjoying them all so far.

This is the 2nd book to feature The Tempests family.

Tracey Tempest is learning to get on with her life. Other people may have other ideas. Things will not go smooth as wouldn't make the best story. We need stress, betrayal, lies and secrets. We need the ups and downs of a gangland thriller and that is just what we get.
Plenty of action and enough going on that you want to keep turning those pages.

A superb page turner and one I would recommend.

This is another well written, cleverly plotted gangland book by Kerry Kaya. It is book 2 to feature the Tempest family and revenge is certainly the game! I loved the characterisation and the descriptive passages, as well as the build up to the thriller of an ending. Tracey is a very strong character and a fiercely protective mother and I hope book 3 is not too far off. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Wow Kerry has done it again. Another book that is unputdownable. After the death of her husband and his partner being locked up in Belmarsh Tracy thinks her life will settle down. When Max’s car lot gets burnt down little did they realise what trouble lay ahead. Revenge is the perfect title for this book as everyone is out for it. Make sure you’ve got some spare time when you pick up this book as I can guarantee you’ll not be able to put it down.

Couldn’t of read this any faster ! Fabulous from start to finish. I enjoyed the first book (Betrayal) in this series, that was excellent but having read that a while ago it was great to catch up with the main characters again.
Kerry Kaya is fast becoming a favourite author of mine in this genres; along with Casey Kelleher and Kimberley Chambers.
Thank you Kerry for a fast paced roller coaster ride !

The Tempests are back and the story continues on from the events of the first book, just as life seems to be settling back into some kind of normality, trouble starts and the family becomes embroiled in a new feud that leaves them second guessing who is behind the latest troubles, another excellent read from Kerry Kaya and hopefully there will be another book or two to look forward to.
