About the author

Dhruv Bhatt was born on 8 May 1947 in Ningala village of Bhavnagar State (now Bhavnagar district, Gujarat) to Prabodhray Bhatt and Harisuta Bhatt. He studied at various places, standard 1 to 4 at Jafrabad and Matriculation from Keshod. After studying commerce for two years, he left further studying[1] in 1972 and joined Gujarat Machine Manufacturers as Sales Supervisor. He voluntary retired and started writing career.[2]

His novel Akoopar has been adapted into a play directed by Aditi Desai.[3] Tattvamasi was adapted into the 2018 Gujarati film Reva.[4]

એટલું અદભુત પુસ્તક કે વાત ન પૂછો. દાદા પોતાની જ વાતો કરતાં ક્યારેક ગમ્મત કરી ને એવું હસાવે... ક્યારેક એવા ગહન વિચારો થી છાપ છોડી જાય દિમાગ પર...ને ક્યારેક, ખાસ તો છેલ્લા પ્રકરણમાં ગદગદ કરી મૂકે.

QR કોડ મૂકવાનો એકદમ નવતર આઈડિયા અહી અપનાવ્યો છે કે જે તમને લઈ જાય દ્રશ્યો અને ગીતોના વિડિયો પર. કાબિલેતારીફ કોન્સેપ્ટ.

લાગ્યું હતું કે દાદા એમના પુસ્તકોની પ્રેરણા વિશે વાતો કરશે, પણ ના. અહીં તો એક અલગ જ રીતે પોતાના જીવનની સ્મૃતિઓ આલેખે છે કે જે એક અલગ જ અનુભવ, પહેલાં કોઈ એ પણ નથી કરાવ્યો તેવો.

Dhruv Bhatt as always brings out the beauty of the coastal Saurashtra, it's native language nuances. His story carries the smell of the mitti. The characters are fully drawn. His art is in drawing out a story which to ordinary folks see like none. The autobiography -novel as he calls it ranks with his best in Samudrantike and Akoopar.

This was a treat! Superb title with classic writing style of Dhruv Dada, it is filled with subtle sentences with deep meaning, one of my favorites is on the last page (અનંતના ઘરની લેરૂં).....it just restores your faith in humanity. I always wish (and think how) I could meet these people who speak raw and have a deep understanding of life.

For the 1st time autobiographical sharing from him. Through these sharing we get to know other past stories behind our favourite books by him. He will break lot many conditioning of ours. Like how language and knowledge works amongst all of us. One liners as always made me awestruck like "દીકરીઓ સગી આંખે ક્યા નિશાળ ભાળે છે?" And many more... We wish Dada writes continuation of the various life sharing episodes.

આજુ ખેલે એક સ્મૃતિ નવલ ધ્રુવ દાદાના બાળપણથી લઈને આજ સુધીના ખાટા મીઠા સંસ્મરણો. આ પુસ્તકમાં આપણી પોતાની લાઈફમાં પણ આવું જ થયેલ એની સામ્યતા આપ સૌને અનુભવાશે. કોઈ પણ જાતના અલંકારી શબ્દો કે વાક્યો વિના અસલ કાઠિયાવાડી અને તળપદી ભાષામાં બોલાયેલા છે. આ પુસ્તક એક બેઠક પર પૂરું કરી શકો એવું લાજવાબ છે. દાદાના બાળપણના કિસ્સા શાળાના ભૂતકૃદન્તથી લઈને વિદ્યાભવનણી ટ્રેનના સફર સુધી એમ જ ભૂલકાઓને દરિયા દર્શન કરાવવાનું આલેખન ચોટદાર છે સાથોસાથ ગુજરાતી ભાષામાં QR Code નો નવત્તર પ્રયોગ દ્વારા દાદાએ જે જગ્યાએ ગયા એણે જાણી, માણી તેના નયનરમ્ય વિડીયો મુક્યા છે જેને જોઈને એ સીન તાદ્રશ્ય થઇ જાય છે. એક વાર અચૂક વાંચવા જેવી.
