Redemption is book four, the final instalment of The A'vean Chronicles, and what an epic finale it is.
When we first started out on Sophia’s journey in book one, Awaken, the mood was slower, introducing us to the author's vast cast of characters, both good and evil, and as such she slowly drew us into the book with skilful worldbuilding. As the books have progressed and our heroine’s quest has grown ever more treacherous and demanding, the author has skilfully increased the pace. You find yourself reading with a thumping heart rate and sweaty palms, living the peril, torture, and heartache along with the characters.

It’s been an honour to visibly read the progression of the author's skillset as this heroic battle between angels and demons, good and bad has played out. Never one to give any plot twists away; Redemption is a truly satisfying conclusion to this series. A real go-to read for lovers of not only urban fantasy, but those who long for escapism, both teens and adults.

The final book in the magnificent A’vean Chronicles, Redemption brings the tale of Sophia to its spectacular conclusion. In a page-turning and gripping epic novel, the reader is treated to a heart-stopping and heady mix of battles, struggles, and romance, as Sophia struggles to fulfil her destiny and become that which she was born to be.

Sophia, and the friends and allies she has made during her journey, are facing the ultimate in evil. The stakes are high, and the whole of the human race is unknowingly standing on the brink of extinction. This is a book that doesn’t let the reader relax for a moment. Lacking the slow burn of the first books in the series, this is where all the threads of the plot are bound together at a breakneck pace.

Beautifully written, with nice characterisation, Redemption is a book for all who love the angel versus demons theme and is suitable for all ages.

Friends, this is such a satisfying conclusion. I love when everything comes together near the end of a book, and there were a lot of things to tie up in this series! This book is exciting twist after thrilling answers after more exciting twists as the author throws Sophia towards the ending in leaps. The end of the world is fast approaching, and you feel that urgency.

As this is the final book of four, it's difficult to talk about it without spoiling anything. If you've followed Sophia's journey this far, you won't need any convincing to pick up this one, too - and let me tell you, the epilogue alone is worth it! I loved what Thomas did with it; it's the perfect ending to this series. The second half of Redemption had some of my favourite plot twists and reveals ever, but again, I can't talk about them because of spoilers. She'll know what I mean.

I was so fortunate that Thomas asked me to be her editor for these last two titles. She's put her everything into these, and I can't wait to see what she does next!

If you like dark urban fantasy, you'll love this series. The first book is called Awaken; you'll want to start there if you're new to these books.

The fourth and final book in the A’vean Chronicles sees the Angels, led by earth-born Sophia, finally crack the trail of clues they’ve been chasing since book 1. The riddles they’ve had to solve have been a real highlight of the series, as have the relationships formed, and it all comes together in the action-packed final story. Complete with a big betrayal, a huge battle, and the resolution of Sophia’s complicated romance with Ben, GR Thomas knows how to end a series, and does a great job of rounding off the story in this imaginative and entertaining world of Angels and Demons.

I just finished rereading the last book in the A’vean Chronicles just before the new covers release. The new covers are even more beautiful I can’t wait!!

This was the perfect end to the series. It was emotional, action-packed and fast paced. It was very easy to fly through this book and if I wasn’t at work this week I think I would’ve been able to read it within a few hours.
During this book Sophia has to deal with grief while also fighting for her people and trying to stay strong. She manages to do so pretty well but on the way to free the child’s soul she encounters battles from daimons. Not just Yeqon this time but also daimon sisters and Lilith.
This book had some major plot twists that I honestly didn’t expect at all but I think they make so much sense to the story.

I will miss all the characters in this series a lot as I read the A’vean Chronicles in 2021 and 2022 therefore it’s been with me for about a year. But I can’t wait to see what GR Thomas comes out with next as she is such an incredible person and talented author!!

EPIC
An epic conclusion to an amazing story. This series was so unique. What a brilliant mind GR Thomas has to be able to put pen to paper and create a world so intricate.
The character development was superb from book 1 to book 4.
Absolutely well done. The way this series developed and got better and better with each book was fantastic.
A very satisfying conclusion. With a very satisfying epilogue.
