October 25, 2010I must say that Rapunzel’s Release was quite different from the description and yet I really enjoyed it. Part of the reason I wanted to read this story was to see how Nichelle Gregory worked it compared to the original fairy tale. After reading her version I must say that she did a wonderful job. There is a richness of detail and a depth to character not in the original.
A good part of Rapunzel’s Release is close to the version penned by the Brothers Grimm… that is until Rapunzel meets her prince. I sure don’t remember all the sensual and sexy romance; this is a big departure from the Rapunzel I read growing up. But it’s more than that; it’s the attention to the people and the descriptions of what was happening. There was also a lot more emotion shared. I loved it and the sexiness made perfect sense to me—the adult me, not the younger one—that this is how Rapunzel’s story should go.
I’m very interested in finding other stories by Nichelle Gregory and discovering if she’s re-vamped other famous fairy tales. But whatever I find, I’m sure that I will enjoy it… she tells a wonderful story!

Review of Rapunzels Realease By Nichelle Gregory
This is a short story based on the story of Rapunzel. Definatley 18+!
At first I thought it would be longer, I thought it wold be a novel honestly, but it is a 69 page story about Rapunzel. It is very simmilar to the Rapunzle story but with very sexy twists to it. I really enjoyed this story and I am very eager to read more or Nichelles writing. It is an adult story, there is nothing YA about it but I like to switch it up for a change. I am definatley going to be reading more from Nichelle. She is very discriptive down to every last detail. I felt like I was there, watching as everything unfolded in this story. If you are looking for a change in reading matireal and want to read something 18+ I would definatley recomend this story :)

I love retold stories but I'm always leery if the author is going to change too much of my favorite fairy tales. I was not didappointed with Mrs. Gregory. Rapunzel's Release was almost the same as how I remembered it when I was a kid but with a few added 'adult' scenes whcih she managed to fit in there perfectly. I definitely recommend Rapunzel's Release.
