John Claypool was the pastor of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, Louisville, KY, back in the ‘60s. I met Mary Helen there, and together we were greatly influenced and impacted by his sermons and his spiritual leadership. So, I could hear him speaking as I read this book. It was particularly interesting to me to be able to relate his stories to what was going on with me/us in Louisville at the time we knew him.
To try to put it most succinctly, he describes his/our need to move from striving to acquire value/worth to becoming aware of and accepting the worth within us.
