Save the planet. Save money. Have fun doing both. Anyone who can apply tape, use a glue gun, or sew on a button has enough craft knowledge to rescue a huge variety of items that would otherwise be headed for the landfill. Many of these 120+ ideas don't require any crafting experience at all. The result is amazing "new" furniture, accessories, and gifts that only cost a little time and a few crafting supplies. With this book's secrets for Renewing, Reinventing, and Recycling, anyone can make castoffs desirable again, either by refreshing their appearance so they can continue in their original use or by recasting them into exciting new roles.

Some of the projects were interesting and cute. Perhaps it’s a testament to the era when this book came out, but many were tacky, with the staging looking more chaotic than artful. I wish there had been more details and guidance in some of the how-to portions.
