A completely new start brings horrors that Lee could well do without. Who is killing the townsfolk? And who is sending those macabre gifts?
Lee has moved to town to start again. His last relationship turned sour, so he opens a bar and throws all his energy into it, though two men he has befriended cause him to wonder if he’s ready to take the plunge again. However, a murderer is out there, sending gifts to Lee—body parts—as a token of his love. Rumours say it’s a wild dog roaming the forest, but if that’s the case, who is sending the presents to Lee?
Sarah Masters is one of three pen names I write under. Sarah mainly writes m/m. Natalie Dae writes het erotica, while the third, Charley Oweson, writes thriller/horror/suspense books with no sex.
This is the first part of a series, and it does pay tos tart at the beginning, it's not the sort of thing you can dip in an out of.
It doesn't take long to establish that 'The Unusual' of the title is in fact a werewolf, obsessed with a man, and succumbing to blood lust because of that raging sexual desire. We get insight from the werewolf's perspective, and we see what happens to the humans. However, Sarah makes it very hard to be sure who the werewolf is - which makes for a gripping read. There's some delectable m/m action along the way as well.
