Demon hunter Kat O'Dwyer has trained for two-hundred years to slay the most seductive member of The Deadly Seven. She's kept herself chaste to resist his charms, but he's temptation personified.
Can she resist?
Does she even want to?
It's not like the world will end if she gives in to his seduction before she kills him... right?
Tonya Burrows wrote her first romance at age thirteen and hasn't put down her pen since. Originally from a small town in Western New York, she suffers from a bad case of wanderlust and is still searching for a place to call home. She shares her adventures with her husband, two adorable doodles, and Scribble the Writer Cat.
When she's not writing about hunky military heroes and their courageous K9s, Tonya can be found watching either true crime or baking shows while snuggled up on the couch with her furbabies. She also enjoys traveling—especially long road trips to see the National Parks.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to leave an honest review. I have read many of Tonya Burrows books and thoroughly enjoy them. Usually they have a good plot, some romance but there is actual substance/intrigue to the books too which I love. I wasn't sure what to expect with this book as I haven't read anything paranormal from Tonya before so was a little wary. This book exceeded my expectations! I will say it took a little bit to catch on to a lot of the terms for the paranormal beings and such that she created but overall a great story. The basic premise of the series is that there are 7 brothers that all have one of the 7 deadly sins locked inside them. The interaction between the brothers is great; it's like your normal sibling banter. But each has their own issues they are dealing with.
This book is about Lux who is the sin of lust. His past is so heartbreaking so of course the one who is meant for him is the one who is also trying to kill him. Kat has been seeking revenge for the death of her family for 200 years and when she finally gets her chance, she has no qualms in stabbing and kidnapping Lux for her organization. But of course things are being engineered beyond anything either of them can imagine. Kat starts to realize she may have been fed some false information through the years to set in motion basically the end of the world. Between the 7 brothers, some angels, werewolves and other beings, they need to basically figure out how to save everyone.
Overall an excellent read once you catch on to the lingo of this paranormal world. Good plot, some humor and of course some romance and intrigue.
Oh this was so good! I loved it. So many paranormal creatures: demons, shifters, gods, etc, etc and among that the seven sins: brothers cursed with sins by their father and suffering for millenia. Lux is cursed with "Lust"... sadly it means that he can't prevent people to be overwhelmed by lust while in his viciny....he does not mean he is enjoying that and it was used for torturing him as well....and a side effect is that he needs to drink blood.
Kat is immortal, an hunter working for an occult organisation playing police for the supernatural...but not everything is clear especially when some friends of hers start hunting her without explanation and after she is mortal again. Kat is bent on revenge, when she was a child 200 y ago, her family was brutally killed and she was always told it was by the demons and more precisely the demon of Lust... Determined she worked and studied to fullfil her veangeance except that when "meeting" Lux he is nothing like what she expected and he keeps saying he is not a demon.... Watching him being tortured does not leave her at ease and she suspect something strange is happening...
When forced to work with Lux to stay alive, not knowing who her ennemies are, who are still trusted friends, she will need to make decision and built trust with Lux as she is not as immunised to his power as she always believed.
Really i loved it, i love the banter between the brothers and how they are protective of each other, i love how Lux is not who he seems and there is a perfect balance between the action and the romance part .
This is a great start for a promising series i can't wait to read more of it.
Wow what a story! This is I'm sure the start of a series about the Seven Deadly, as in sins, and the individuals cursed to embody them. It starts with Lust's story. It's believed Luxuris is a demon so powerful that people go into a lust filled frenzy whenever he's near. Kat O'Dwyer is a member of the ISRS, Immortal and Supernatural Regulation Society, who's been charged to bring Luxuris in to face his eternal judgment. This story goes sideways pretty quickly when Kat finds out she's been betrayed and used by her boss. It was a delightful journey watching these two fall in love and fight to be together. Sometimes it takes a village and in this case both Kat and Lux need their friends to be victorious.
Kat is been imbued with immortality as a ISRS agent. She's been trying to catch up and bring in Lux-Lust as she been led to believe he killed her family. She wants vengeance! It doesn't take long after she brings him into headquarters to figure out she's been used and he's not who she's been led to believe. The story goes on as they try to figure out who's trying to start the Apocalypse using them as the catalyst. Each of the Seven play a part in gaining a HEA for the couple. They learn they are so much than the sin they carry. I can't wait to see how Leviathan, Envy, and Xanthus, Gluttony's stories play out.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Well, where to start...firstly, I received an advanced review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily...but secondly OMG!!!! We are off to a great start with this new series, could not put it down, hooked from the first chapter, and now i need the second book..that is how much i loved this story.
Kat O'Dwyer an agent for the Immortal & Supernatural Regulation Society (ISRS) is charged with capturing Lux, a demon possessed of Lust, one of the seven deadly sins. Great premise already right, but like every good story, there is untruths, twists, incredible bad villains, a maybe a villain/maybe just a misunderstood sibling, friends that turn into so much more and just so much heart, that i cried, laughed and had to keep resisting reading too fast and missing something.
What a fab first book in a new series, well done Ms Burrows, and please write faster as i am now desperate to know - will we have Xan's book next, what does that mean for Zayra, will we have Levi next ....oh lord, put me out of my misery!
But seriously, for lovers of paranormal romances, for lovers of a twist into something we think we know - you will love this story
This is the first book I've ever read in this genre. I only read it because of the author and she didn't let me down. The characters are wonderful and the writing is excellent - it was difficult to put down. The whole scenario goes even deeper with references to mythology scattered throughout (and you know a story has caught your attention when you start researching). Looking forward to the next one.
A Taste of Sin is different then any book I've read of Tonya's, and I wasn't sure when I started it if I would finish it but once I got into the book it was hard to put down. It revolves around the seven deadly sins and this book is about Lux whose sin is lust and Kat who is trying to capture him. There's twists and turns, secret's and the paranormal.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Well, it’s like a 1-80 from the stuff I‘m used to reading by Tonya Burrows, but holy sh**… yeah, you have to be kinda like into the supernatural stuff with demons, arcangels, vampires and whatnot, but in my opinion, Tonya did a hell of a writing-job introducing the Seven Sins. Don’t know yet wether there’s another book in the series - have to find out, but it‘ll be mindblowing - just as this one is.
