I enjoyed Glenallen very much. It was, surprisingly, a gothic story that was both hard to read and hard to put down. Mary Ryan's style was like VC Andrews with a much broader education.

On page 327. Enjoying the book but sometimes too long and drawn out... lots of details. Set in 1930's, war time, in Ireland, and interesting historical perspectives. Lots of sadness and loss. Still reading.

A sinister and chilling page turner despite the heroine's persistent truculence when love does come her way and her stubborn refusal to recognize danger when she sees it, not only for herself, but especially for her baby.
