First published posthumously in 1873, 'Robin Hood - The Outlaw' is a sequel to 'Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves' published in 1872. It is a short novel, very episodic, very uneven in style, and in places quite poorly written. In spite of this, it is very enjoyable to read as it has some endearing panache. Enjoyable, but not at all great literature.

I never knew A. Dumas wrote a Robin Hood story. It was an interesting read, a bit slow and repetitive at times but overall good.

Dialoghi spassosi e personaggi interessanti
Una critica arguta alla società del tempo.

This book is episodic as the chapters were initially serialized. Hence, it's a little uneven in quality. Some parts are potboiler battles or amusing moments of mischief. Others are sappy love/marriage tales. All in all, a good read with a genuinely surprising and moving ending.

I do love Robin Hood, but this version is a little odd. I'm going to blame the translator since I know how much I love Dumas' books (father and son).
