Sexy heartbreaker Rad Ramsey knew women found him irresistible, but he'd always enjoyed the chase too much to keep the ladies whose hearts he captured. Then sweet, serene Erin Brady came tantalizingly near -- and he felt his cherished control slipping. He usually chose a dazzling spitfire he could battle and vanquish, but when this soft-eyed temptress treated him like Sir Galahad, he felt a sudden, wild longing to free the passionate woman inside her. Erin had never known the fiery thrill of seduction, to be claimed by a powerful, sensual man, but Rad's touch awakened a siren who would be satisfied with nothing less. Challenged by her tenderness, astonished by the protective instincts she aroused in him, Rad tried to drive Erin away, sure he'd bring her nothing but sorrow once she knew his secrets. Could the woman who'd found joy in his arms teach him the healing power of love?
Barbara Schroeder was born on 28 October 1946 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, USA. She worked as nurse, before she married William P. Boswell, a attorney, and they had three daughters.
She has been a longtime romance novel fan, becoming hooked on the romances by Harlequin back in the mid-‘70s when she was home with her three small daughters. When the youngest reached school age in 1983, she wanted something to do with her extra time. She thought about going back to nursing, but didn't care to deal with hospital shifts. She'd often made up stories in her head and/or continued the stories that she'd read, so it seemed like a fun idea to try to write a story of her own. It took a lot more effort and organization than the loosely strung-together scenes she'd run through her mind, but she was right about the fun part! She enjoyed the whole process and wrote a story that she knew she would enjoy reading. She sent it off and was thrilled when it was accepted! It was even more exciting to see her name on the book cover. Some 50-plus books later, it's still a thrill to see her name on the book and it's still fun to make up stories — at least most of the time!
Barbara gets her ideas from everywhere but especially from reading, which she loves to do. Sometimes, just a sentence in a newspaper or a magazine will spark an idea to develop into a romance. Other times, she'll be inspired by another romance novel and she will try to put her own spin on a favorite old plot. Barbara believes that we all have our preferences — she's always been partial to the "secret baby" story line. That, plus the "marriage of convenience" and class or family conflicts are some of her particular favorites.
Her three daughters are all grown up now, and she and her husband are the proud grandparents of a beautiful little grandson. They also have three cats who seem to think that they are the rulers of their house. They are terribly spoiled, and they just might be right.
"Sharing Secrets" is the story of Rad and Erin. Rad is oldest of Ramsey clan and Erin the second in the Brady clan. When their siblings are married, they are thrust into each other's lives- both intrigued. However, both have been burned by love before. While Erin survived a physically and mentally abusive marriage with her now dead husband Charlie, Rad too had a tremultuous divorce with his ex Paige, and harbors a secret. Can they resolve their issues and open their hearts to each other? I loved Erin. Kind, polite, gentle, caring- she reminded me of Jane from P&P/ Win from Seduce me at Sunrise. She took all the taunts and insults in stride, and hid her pain with a brave face, never throwing tantrums or being overly sensitive. She was the Ying to Rad's OTT hurtful, mean Yang. Rad, our manslut went out of his way to hide his feelings and "inadequacies" by acting angry. He verbal taunted and sneered the heroine throughout the book, and I commend the her for maintaining her patience with him. Id have whooped him once or twice. Adored Courtney and Carrie. And did like Rad's relationship with them. That being said, the drama at the end was predictable but ridiculous. I NEEDED MORE GROVELING! Honestly, yet again the Brady's won my heart, and the Ramsey's..well Im warming up to them. SWE/Unsafe 2.75/5
I loved this book, we met Erin and Rad in the first book Playing Hard to Get, where Erin's sisters were living in poverty, when they were left property that the Ramsey's wanted and they moved and now it's been one year and Erin's sister now has a child.
Erin got married straight out of high school and had a terrible marriage where she was abused and left with her daughter, but her ex raped her and she had another. Her kids are adorable and love Rad, the eldest Ramsey, one who plays the field and after his divorce ten years ago has no intention of settling down.
I warmed up to the Ramsey's in this, they adore the Brady's now and Rad has a thing for Erin and knows she has a crush on him but he has no intention of getting involved with her, she's too sweet.
Well, they do and Rad finds himself part of a family, the kids calling him daddy and he even tells Erin why his marriage broke up, his sterility and then he realizes he's a goner and runs scared and then thinks Erin has moved on and acts dense.
Of course he soon comes to his sense and accepts that Erin's pregnancy is a result of him.
This second story of Brady sisters was really good.
On one hand we have Erin, the second oldest sister in the family and the one with two little girls, from a horrible marriage, ended with a divorce and the by the death of an abusive man. One the other hand we have Rad, the oldest Ramsey and the baddest of them. He's changing girl every night and he treats them very poorly, so we cannot say he's a great guy.
But Erin and her little girls does something for him. At the first it seems he likes to play to little family but, after some time Rad begins to aski himself what he really wants to do.
And when something unexpected happens he has to decide what's really worthy for him.
