Ramsey/Brady #4

And Tara, Too

Rate this book
Jed Ramsey was as darkly sleek and seductive as his black racing car, a rake with women and infuriatingly sexy...and Tara Brady wanted no part of him! Even if two of her sisters were happily married to two of his brothers, she wasn't about to succumb to his rogue's charm -- which was just fine with Jed. His father's obvious matchmaking efforts were doomed, Jed vowed -- but why was he thinking renegade thoughts about Tara's kissable lips and responding to the dare in her teasing eyes with impossible, wild desire? For the first time in her life Tara felt reckless, even dangerous, enjoying playing the temptress to Jed's brash, virile playboy... and ready to risk the passionate consequences! At first it was just a game of catch-me-if-you-can, until sudden wildfire erupted into steamy, breathless need. Entrapped by unexpected emotions, and the tinkling chains of fate, Jed and Tara wondered: would their heated lovers' duel have one winner, or two?

Barbara Schroeder was born on 28 October 1946 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, USA. She worked as nurse, before she married William P. Boswell, a attorney, and they had three daughters.

She has been a longtime romance novel fan, becoming hooked on the romances by Harlequin back in the mid-‘70s when she was home with her three small daughters. When the youngest reached school age in 1983, she wanted something to do with her extra time. She thought about going back to nursing, but didn't care to deal with hospital shifts. She'd often made up stories in her head and/or continued the stories that she'd read, so it seemed like a fun idea to try to write a story of her own. It took a lot more effort and organization than the loosely strung-together scenes she'd run through her mind, but she was right about the fun part! She enjoyed the whole process and wrote a story that she knew she would enjoy reading. She sent it off and was thrilled when it was accepted! It was even more exciting to see her name on the book cover. Some 50-plus books later, it's still a thrill to see her name on the book and it's still fun to make up stories — at least most of the time!

Barbara gets her ideas from everywhere but especially from reading, which she loves to do. Sometimes, just a sentence in a newspaper or a magazine will spark an idea to develop into a romance. Other times, she'll be inspired by another romance novel and she will try to put her own spin on a favorite old plot. Barbara believes that we all have our preferences — she's always been partial to the "secret baby" story line. That, plus the "marriage of convenience" and class or family conflicts are some of her particular favorites.

Her three daughters are all grown up now, and she and her husband are the proud grandparents of a beautiful little grandson. They also have three cats who seem to think that they are the rulers of their house. They are terribly spoiled, and they just might be right.

Another great Ramsey-Brady book, Tara is the third sister and her siblings and the Ramsey's were not happy when she went out of state to take a job in a radio station, after all the Ramsey family patriarch had been wanting to set up his son Jed and Tara for too long.

So, Tara made up a perfect boyfriend and then was shocked to see Jed moving in as her neighbor. She has never liked Jed, he's arrogant and like all Ramsey's used to getting his own way and a player and she has zero interest in marrying him, the same is the case with Jed, he's come for business. On the first day itself he realizes that Tara doesn't like him or their family much and remember their first family meeting when the Brady girls cried.

It is wonderful seeing someone as mighty as Jed fall and it was so fun, Tara is one of those people who believes in saving herself for marriage and is the only one in her family in whom her mother confided about her various romances and for Jed the idea is shocking and he's even more shocked to realize he is attracted to her and how she's able to resist his charms. He wavers from wanting to seduce her and not wanting to.

Then there is his youngest brother Ricky who has fallen for the Brady sister Megan and how their families think they are too young to get married and Jed who doesn't like getting involved finds himself helping just because Tara asked him to.

He discovers he has no interest in other women and starts dating her, gladly accepting their necking sessions and I loved seeing him catapult in love and doing exactly what their families wanted.

Now, only Colleen Brady's book is left.

"And Tara, Too" is the story of Jed and Tara.
With two Ramseys blissfully wedded to the Brady's, the pressure now descends on the fiercely independent RJ Tara Brady and playboy extraordinaire Jed Ramsey to get pressured by the Ramsey parents to get together- something which compels the elusive Tara to invent a boyfriend named Chad! Both have always had a annoy-hate relationship, but things change when in the outskirts, Jed moves in the apartment opposite to Tara and hidden feelings emerge.
Average chemistry between the two with a LOT of drama which involved their feelings, reluctance and respective childhood issues. There was a surprise regarding their younger siblings, and mild OW issues but so far, this has been my least favorite of the series. I felt there could have been more chemistry and exploration of feelings between the two- and the hero could have been more charming/ redeemable?

I love Barbara Boswell's style of writing. The characters are witty and their banters, funny. The sexual innuendos, hilarious, and not so innocent. just finished reading it, and I had so much fun! Tara has a virginity vow, no wed, no bed. And bad boy Jed Ramsey was going mad keeping it in his pants. And they're not even in a relationship. Well, yet. ..

This love story was overwhelming, like watching a very cute teen movie. Jed was indeed like a hungry dog about to pounce to a big ass steak. How can she get Tara to bed when all Tara thought was, for him women are fungible? This scene for example, hehe, how can you fall in love or in bed with a man like this? --->
“You’re taking me to dinner?““I have to eat, too.” Jed shrugged. “Ill drive to the restaurant, but you’re paying for your own meal, honey. I have no intention of trying to court you. My sole goal is to get you into bed, not to make you fall in love with me.”
All Jed wanted was a quick hot affair. She though of him like a shark whose arrival should be preceded by tuba music. Hehehe I liked how Tara kept her vow of virginity, the story was full of sexual tension, the kind that would make you melt when you were a teenage kid with your boyfriend. You know you want to? But you can't, hehehe!

Fave parts
“A girl like me?” she repeated softly, dangerously.
“Explain exactly what you mean by ‘a girl like me.’ ”
“Cute. Smart.” Jed snapped the words at her. “Fun to be with.” He swallowed. “Pretty.” And swallowed again. “Sexy.” He was breathing heavily, and the blood was thundering in his head”

Fave funny part
“If you 11 excuse me, I have to find a place to park my car,” Tara said, flicking a disapproving glance at Jed. “Yours is in my parking space.”
Jed was entirely unrepentant. “A car like mine has to be kept within sight.
Yours will be undisturbed anywhere.”

“I’m Kayci Cann. That’s K-a-y-c-i. I live in the apartment upstairs right above you, and I’d like to personally welcome you to our building.”
Jed’s dark, thick brows lifted and he gave a slow, sexy smile. “I’m Jed Ramsey, and I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have above me than you, K-a-y-c-i.”
Tara rolled her eyes”

Kilig part
“I learned beyond a shadow of doubt that I’d rather be with you,” he interrupted. “Even when you’re mad at me, even when you’re treating me like a suspicious parole officer treats his most untrustworthy parolee, I’d rather be with you than with any other woman, no matter how accommodating she might try to be.”

2 (other) Brady sisters for 2 (other) Ramsey brothers! LOL

Tara is very far the Ramesy family, the same one has trying to paire her off with Jed Ramsey for a long time. But being so far, it's Jed who has to go to her... even if he thinks he's been asked to take a look to a family mall, out of luck and needing a restyling.

So Jed comes to Tara and the battle begins. They fight their destiny. But when another Brady sister is forced to separate from the last Ramsey brother Jed is ready to help them... and Tara, too!

Delicious Barbara Boswell, as usual. SHe's a great writer and I absolutely love her heroines, always kind but strong (not the usual doormat-type of woman in HPland!)

Onto the last one!
