This book is heavy on "show me" over "tell me" with the examples being from a variety of artists who did step by step explanations of paintings for the book.

Copious amounts of ways to paint people, but it builds on an already existing knowledge of painting techniques and skill. If you don’t yet have that foundation, it may be too advanced.
