Led by a series of dreams and encouraged by friends, Lynn Hardy began the journey to become an author. She stored her work in a computer file labeled “second job.” Writing began as a passion she could not contain and has become much more than she ever expected.

Lynn has attended many science fiction conventions and has had the privilege of serving on panels about writing. Renaissance fairs are another favorite event for the author. Seeing others dressed in costume (as she always is during book signings) makes her feel right at home.

The real shock came at a chance meeting in a videogame store in 2008. It took several meetings before she realized JR was a CEO and Hippocrit Games was offering her a contract: they were not just making small talk about what a great videogame her book would make. Hippocrit plans to launch their new company with the release of Prophecy of the Flame, the live action videogame, in Fall 2010.

In reality, Lynn is overcome with compassion for families who are suffering through the recession and so she has created Agape Assistance. Knowing that times are hard for everyone, Lynn wants to give back to those who join Agape Assistance in providing shelter for families who are homeless. Buying Book One will provide a book for you and a bed for them. 100% of the proceeds from Prophecy of the Flame: Book One go to Agape Assistance. (AgapeAssistance.org)

Lynn is now a stay-at-home mother of two. The road has been longer and more complicated than she would have ever guessed--not always smooth, but filled with wonderful surprises. Like most stories, Lynn is sure that her journey has only just begun.

My Opinion:
Very enjoyable role playing adventure. I enjoyed the characters of the book and liked how I was emerged in the role playing atmosphere. I myself play an MMO online and was able to keep up with the story. Lynn starts off with the action right away. From the hotel that starts a group of strangers playing a game to them getting thrown into this epic journey. We meet Archmage Reba and her team that gets disoriented and is thrown into a world of danger and they learn that they were chosen for this world to fulfill a prophecy. The rest is here -

Whew! Where should I start? How about: why did I select this book to read? I like my fantasy reads. I read the blurb and it seemed to have good promise for a nice epic fantasy. This my first book by Author Lynn Hardy. I had no idea what to expect. For me, that tends to add a little something to a book though. Let me say I am very happy with my decision to read this one!

Prophecy of the Flame, is the starting book to a series. The book opens by introducing us to people about to participate in a Role-Playing Game, a LIVE version sort, at a fancy hotel resort. The main character is Rebecca, a roughly 30 yr. old married woman. The stay at the hotel is a gift from her spouse. Rebecca, usually a video-gamer, has chosen to play the part of a Mage in the Role-Play. For the Game she goes by the title Archmage Reba. She meets her team-mates and the characters they have selected to be. A druid elf, a dwarf, a healer, and a paladin. Some have prior Role-Play experience and some do not. The start to the RPG is called, and all is going well. The team makes it through the first round and plans to get to know each other better. Only in a flash, everything changes. Archmage Reba and her team find themselves in a whole NEW kind of game. They must learn all they can about the new rules, while still maintaining the Roles they have chosen. Part of what they learn is the Prophecy of the Flame, which the locals believe is talking about Reba!

I found this story to have a very good flow. I truly FELT that I was a part of the adventure! I love that the author made Reba a "mature" female! This made her a character that I could relate to. I found Reba's emotions to be very accurate. I really felt like I understood her, what she was all about. I can not say that I agree with all her choices, but I could understand them. The supporting characters are just as realistic in mannerism and personality. I had no trouble picturing the conversations as they happened.

The author's use of imagery is quite good. Surroundings came to mind easily. Descriptions were not overdone, I felt it was all touched on just right. The author has a good imagination, and a sense of humor that I enjoyed in some of the characters. There were a few edit errors, but not many. Not enough to distract from the reading, I hardly put the book down! I read 50% of it straight through! I am very much looking forward to the continuing story in book 2!

I had to give a review of this book because it was so unusual for me to find something I liked this well outside my normal comfort zone. When a family member recommended this book, I wasn't sure it was a good fit: I don't read a lot of this type of thing. But I do enjoy science fiction movies so I thought I'd give it a try.

The first part of chapter one made me think that perhaps I had made the wrong decision. It was fast moving and slightly confusing, kind of like the start of a lot of science fiction movies. There were people playing a game, then they where changed into different people... But by the end of the chapter I had to see what was going to happen next. It really sucked me in.

I came to realize that the slight confusion in the first chapter is part of what made the book so REAL. The story is from Reba's, (the main character) point of view in the "now" sense. So it was like I got to ride on her shoulder, or maybe live through her in this world I never imagined could exist. There are few stories that I have read that have captured my attention so completely. I can't wait to read Book Two.

I freely admit that I am a sucker for fish out of water tales. Even with that caveat, this is a really good example. Lynn Hardy takes a classic, almost cliche, idea of a group of people taken from our world and dropped into a fantasy setting.

Five people are playing a Live Action Roleplaying Game when they are summoned to another realm, one in danger. To make their task, of saving the kingdom of Cuthburan easier, they are transformed into their characters.

Although physically they are transformed, they are still the same people mentally. That means that they still have the same knowledge, attitudes, and abilities that they had in our world. Being reasonable people, they are able to combine what they know with what they can now do. No metagaming possible, they are living the game, with potentially fatal results.

Be warned, this is the first book and ends on a cliff hanger. I am eagerly looking forward to the next book.

I hope you enjoy this light-hearted fairytale for adults.

Here are a few a my favorite fan reviews:

This book was absolutely amazing! Lynn did such a good job for a first-time author. I loved the characters and the way she told their story. The actual ideas - the roleplaying coming to life - was interesting and I have to say I've never seen another story quite like this. I love the way she's come up with the new world and ideas of magic. I also like how she describes the demons and the type of magic she wields. I actually received this book from Lynn as a Pass it On book, and I am very anxious to read the second one.

An interesting concept poorly written basically sums up my opinion of this book. The blurb intrigued me but the story and the writing let it down for me.

Five strangers are live-action role-playing when they are yanked from Earth to an alternate dimension to help fight a hoard of demons. In the process they are transformed into the characters they were pretending to be, both physically and in terms of ability.

There was no 'argh, we've been transported to another dimension!', 'argh, it's completely changed the way we look!', 'argh, we suddenly have all these abilities we were only pretending to have!', 'argh, what the hell is going on!' freaking out at all. They all very calmly accepted what was going on. As I mentioned, they were changed physically to represent their characters, some growing or shrinking by several inches, if not feet. First issue: they would not physically be able to make their bodies work in these conditions. Their brain is used to working with certain expectations of their bodies and they would all be falling over all over the spot if this had actually happened and would have trouble walking never mind being able to practice fighting within a matter of hours.

That they've all suddenly acquired various magic/fighting skills is far too convenient. There is no learning curve (necessary to the story as there isn't enough time to have them learn but poorly explained away) and they're all instantly ridiculously proficient and have full control of their abilities. Archmage Reba - the POV character - is the most powerful mage ever apparently, and there is no problem she can't fix instantly and with apparently very little effort. There is no getting to grips with her abilities, no mistakes, and only one instance of her trying something that doesn't work straight off. Seriously?!

I think it was this that bothered me the most. She can create anything from anything with a few rhymes. At first there is at least the limitation of it bringing on migraines but then boom, perpetual healing spell cast and there's no problem. Public speaking a problem? Another spell - she's the best orator in the world! She's forgetting stuff? Perfect memory! She's fighting? Super strength! Walking just too darned slow? Flying! Oh, and while she's at it why not give herself better boobs and eternal youth! I get this was Hardy trying to make it so we can identify with her ("Yeah, she's super-powerful but she still worries about normal stuff!") but it just felt ridiculous.

And because of there being no problem she can't solve, the story just felt superfluous. Why spend all this time preparing for a big battle when she could just wander off and blast them? For me it never really felt like anyone was in any real danger so there was no tension. It basically felt like there were a series of problems thrown up simply for Reba to solve.

A spell (shockingly!) means they instantly understand the language, and apparently know the names of things that have no equivalent in English, though only sporadically. Name of the castle? Fine. Name of the stone the castle's built of? Nope, got to ask what that is. Names of the demons (which no one had seen a day earlier, yet all of which now have names which everyone knows) - fine.

Reba is given a maid. But she's more than just a maid! She's basically also a prostitute for Reba's pleasure. Why on earth they'd assume she was a lesbian/bi is never explained, and it certainly doesn't seem to be the norm. Then the maid gets all offended when Reba turns her down! I didn't see the point of this at all.

Then there's the writing itself. Weird metaphors ("she shook off the unwanted feeling like a coyote shaking off morning dew" - what the...?) and weird turns of phrase (people don't move things - they manipulate them; a simple response is said 'by rote'; 'so-and-so meet so-and-so' is the formal introduction performed by the king) both made this very difficult for me to read. I'd keep stopping to wonder at her weird choice of words. It feels at times like she's used a thesaurus and randomly picked a word without checking that it actually works. (Bringing to mind the episode of Friends where Joey 'Baby Kangaroo' Tribbiani does the same thing.) And in several lists commas were replaced with semi-colons which was mildly annoying more than anything else.

And there was a picture of a horse at the end of every chapter. I have no idea why. Horses were barely mentioned. This also confused me quite a lot.

Definitely not a series I'll be continuing with. Or a book I'll ever read again. Or a book I'll be recommending to anyone. Ever.

I didn’t read this book right away because judging from the first sentences, it depicts gaming ( online games only physically), which means I have to deal with sci-fi and much worst gaming. But to my regret, after a month when I continued reading, I find this as exciting as a roller coater ride.:)

Prophecy of the Flame by Lynn Hardy is about:

In a blinding flash of light, five nondescript strangers are yanked from this world and thrust into a land of sorcery as they are granted the looks and abilities of the people they were playing.
This band of wannabe heroes soon discovers that having the powers they have always dreamed of, does not make life a dream come true.
The Crusaders of the Light struggle to form a cohesive band as they blend twentieth century technology with the supernatural powers of this new world, fighting to liberate the kingdom of Cuthburan from the evil horde threatening humanity.
Battle is also waged within Reba, an ordinary housewife who has become the most powerful mage on the planet, as she struggles to remain true to her wedding vows.
Drawn against her will to the arms of Prince Alexandros, Reba must choose marriage to a handsome prince in a magical world or returning to the husband she left behind.

The book kinda reminds me of Harry Potter, only with demons and princes and princesses. The Archmage is present, a druid elf, a dwarf, a master healer and a prince charming.

I fell in love instantly with the story, I don’t know why, some magic-themed books are not just striking, but this one had me at my heels.:)

I enjoyed reading each chapters, and am always eager to read on and on, the suspense keeps me going and the actions and spells just add spice to it. My appreciation for the wonderful rhymes too. And Frog kissin’ would be a hit, if it’s really a song.

Mrs. Hardy poured out her imagination and her feelings too on this one, it’s filled with magic, actions, adventure, romance and camaraderie, and also faith too.

One of the best thing I’ve read in this is when, the temple’s priest ask Reba to pay homage to his god but she refuses claiming that she will never kneel nor pay worship to anyone unless it was God. I almost cried at this point: (I edited, this the conversation/ actual words said only.)

“It is required that all who enter pay respects to Andskoti.”
“My beliefs do not allow me to kneel to any god but mine.”
“B-but, it is required of all who enter, regardless of their beliefs.” “You must kneel in respect. No homage is expected, purely acknowledgment.”
“I am not a child of your world.” “I worship God. He doesn’t allow me to bend a knee to any other god, not even in the giving of respect or acknowledgment.”

In addition, the book is a romance type to, I can’t wait to know if Reba and Szames could blossom, or would Alex triumph over Reba?, much worse , what about her husband?

I honestly love everything about this, except the fact that Reba is married on earth dimension. But maybe something will happen on the next book. But as I would want to end the book, I really hope ,she would be with Szames.

The cover isn’t that appealing, though of course it should contain flames. But overall , a really good book.

(excerpt from back cover)

In the novel, Prophecy of the Flame, written by Lynn Hardy my attention was immediately drawn into this wonderful storytelling of sorcery and magic!

I connected most definitely with the main character, Archmage Reba who has suddenly become the one the prophecy has described to save the Kingdom of Cuthburan and even possibly the human race on this planet. She is also caught between the prophecy claiming that the "flamed one" should marry the oldest royal prince, or has this prophecy been somehow manipulated over time to portray something more than what it is. Reba, Charles, Allinon, Jerik and Jamison are the main characters in the story who have been transported from their world to this new magical land with each having magical powers of their own to learn and master. Reba has been told of the coming war between another evil sorcerer and the demons he has unleashed into this land. Will the Prophecy hold true? Will the Crusaders of the Light triumph over evil and save the lands, nay the world? Then purchase The Prophecy of the Flame and read for yourself!

I was very pleased when I got into the first few chapters to have such a strong character development, plot and well written storyline. I cannot wait for the second book to come so I can read more of this series. Lynn Hardy has a great way of just plain old-fashioned good storytelling without having to over write, use long winded words, or over-dramatize the story. I like this kind of simple, yet powerful writing style that just gets you started on a journey you wish you could be in and not want to finish reading the last page.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend this one to any and all Sci-Fi, mythology, magic and medieval lovers who want to be thrust into a great story that will keep them entertained for days.

Thank you Lynn Hardy for writing such a mesmerizing book!

I received this book compliments of Pump Up Your Book Tours and Lynn Hardy with the express intent of my personal review only without any monetary gain or profit whatsoever.

Prophecy of the Flame is an action filled story that starts with the innocence of role-playing. However, Archmage Reba and her team find themselves whisked through space, and into a place unknown to the world they once knew. Forced to leave her husband behind, Reba finds she quickly becomes the talk of the town. Whispers of prophecy follow her every move as she now possess the powers her role-playing normal human counterpart once dreamed up. The same also goes for her new-found team that journeyed with her.

The Kingdom is under attack from demonic forces, and the group quickly learns that they were brought to this plane of existence by the King's Archmage. They needed help, quickly, or else all of mankind would fall to the evil knocking at their door. Will the team lead by Archmage Reba be able to thwart the invasion and restore peace? Does the Prophecy of the Flame hold true, or will it be the demise of the kingdom? You know you'll have to read the story to find out!

I love stories such as this. The author Lynn Hardy did a wondrous job at recreating the role-playing theme as well as a fantastic fantasy world. I found myself smiling as I turned each page as well as to many of the earthly references that we take for granted. The largest reference in particular occurs when Reba conjures herself a real toilet! Or perhaps the singing of one of my favorite childhood songs.

The poetry that is used for the spells is also a hoot. I really do wish magic was as simple! Her characters were well developed, and the plot is as solid as stone. There is much turmoil in the book besides the actual demonic invasion, and I felt it was wonderfully portrayed. For many women, this book will not only give you the satisfaction of a good story, but I think we can all find a relation to Archmage Reba. This of course is not to state the book is only for women, no, men too will find a deep love for this story. It really offers a little something for everyone, and I for certain will be reading the sequel as soon as possible!

Prophecy of the flame starts out with a Live Action Role Playing Game in which the characters are competing to win a free weekend at the hotel. Reba, a powerful Mage in the gaming community, is celebrating her wedding anniversary with her husband at the event. He pretty much ditches her for the buffet, and she heads off to meet the rest of her team. This is important to future events in the story.

After kicking some butt in the first round, the team suddenly loses consciousness and finds themselves in a new world when they awaken. They all look different, but somehow they're able to identify each other. Reba casts a rather silly (in a charming way) translation spell and learns that she specifically, and the rest of her teammates by default, were brought to the world to fulfill a prophecy to free the kingdom of Cuthburan from evil.

Prophecy of the Flame is pure reading fun, plain and simple. If you're looking for a fun way to pass the night and aren't in the mood for something deep and brooding, you'll definitely enjoy this book. Those of you who, like me, used to be gamer geeks will get a kick out of the whole "game turned reality" aspect behind it. I mean, I always thought it would be kind of cool to live in a magical kingdom and be a real sorceress rather than just a girl sitting on a bed with a badly painted metal character that kind of looks like a sorceress.

Reba definitely has some sort of magnetism to her, as just about every guy she meets falls for her. Between a husband back home, Alexandros (the prince of the world), and the prince's little brother Szames, Reba definitely has her pick of men. The romance is there, but it's not overt or sappy in my opinion. I also like the combination of old world meets new, as our 21st century heroes have a lot to teach the medieval society. This is the first book in a series, so expect it to end on a cliffhanger that will leave you anxiously awaiting book two.

I confess—sci-fi is not usually my read; I’m usually into contemporary romance or adventure and murder mysteries. But every once in a while I step out of character and go on the “wildside”-- and that is what this book was for me—it was full of fast moving adventure, characters with strengths and flaws, grotesque and terrifying enemies, determined warriors, romantic tension and MAGIC!

Rebecca and her fellow gamers slide from a fun filled day in the twenty first century into an old world dimension; a world where she is welcomed as the fulfillment of a prophesy and revered as the saviour of the Kingdom of Cuthburan, which is being threatened by a grotesque enemy. She finds herself known as Archmage, Reba and she has magical powers that she could have only imagined in the twenty first century.

The characters are well written, and portray strengths and flaws. There is romantic tension; Alex the prince of Cuthburan is a womanizer, challenged by the fact that Reba resists his powers of persuasion. His younger brother Szames becomes her strong ally, her confidant, someone she relys on; but does he want more? Does she want more? Will she resist both of them and remain true to the marriage vows she took in the 21st century.

Will she lead them to victory over the enemy? Will she fulfill the Prophecy of the Flame? You’ll have to read it to find out. The book was like the fourth of July; rocket speed adventure and fireworks galore. I read in bed before I go to sleep, and I confess, I took a couple of afternoon rests so I could read!

I enjoyed the read and was hooked by the cliff hanger ending. Now I’ll have to step onto the “wild side” again and read the next one to find out what happens next. Will she go back to the 21st century as she proclaims she wants to, or will she literally fulfill the entire prophecy?

I recommend it to anyone who enjoys sci-fi and adventure.

During a game of swordplay, magic, costumes, and all the other stuff that the popular kids make fun of, five strangers are sucked into an alternate universe. It doesn’t take them long to realize that they have been turned into the characters that they were role-playing as; Archmage Reba, Jerik the Dwarf, Allinon the Elven druid, Jamison the healer, and Charles the Paladin (aka self-proclaimed Prince Charming).

At first I thought the premise sounded cheesy, but then I remembered my life’s desire: to be a badass wizard like Gandalph. Unfortunately this is not possible for me, and has caused much grief in my life.

I enjoyed the book despite my first impression of it; the author creates an interesting and believable world, as well as many unique characters. It was a light read and very fast paced, and I found myself hooked by the end of the prologue. After reading several books that were 500+ pages and took over two weeks for me to read each one (which is way too long for me), it was nice to sit down with something that did not even take two days to read, but still had a satisfying story.

There is one main complaint I have though; there are many typos. I found it annoying to be distracted from the story by poor grammar or even what I assume was the start of a scrapped sentence. I’d say the book is definitely worth the read despite the mistakes though.

Oh! I do have a second complaint actually, but it’s not really related to the book exactly. I noticed a page in the back that mentions the book being made into a video game. It says it is to be released in the fall of 2011 by Hippocrit Games, but as of now (August 10, 2011) I can find next to nothing about it on the internet. There isn’t even a website for Hippocrit Games, or mention of the game on Lynn Hardy’s website. Hopefully news will come out soon regarding the game.

Kyle is married to Rebecca and he’s given her an interesting gift for their anniversary. It’s not something I would ever think of but it shows how thoughtful he is. He comes up with something that his wife would like to do. From there, Lynn has her characters going to an alternate universe.

I’m a reader of all things romance but I don’t feel that is a major part of this story. The fantasy and science fiction are more prevalent. But I actually think that this is a good thing. I’m a speed reader but I found that this was a book that I wanted to take my time to read. I haven’t felt like that about a book in a long while. It holds your attention from beginning to end. I loved seeing how strong of a character Rebecca is. It’s not all about the male taking care of the “little woman”.

I found it interesting that as I read about Rebecca and her group, I could relate this story to some of the things that I’ve seen in the news lately – some people are very good about hiding their true nature until it’s too late to get them any type of help. Lynn also has illustrations within the book which you don’t see too often. The only disappointment I had was that my Kindle is black and white – I would have loved to have seen the illustrations in color.

Lynn has me wondering if her story will ever be our reality in the future. And will I ever see that in my lifetime. You will have to read her book in order to find out what a great imagination she has. It must
have taken a lot of time and hard work to develop. It will also have you looking forward to reading book two. I look forward to seeing what else Lynn has in store for her readers.

Received from BTS Tours in exchange for an honest review.

OH MY FREAKING GOSH!!!!!
Talk about one heck of an adventure! I mean really? First you're put into a role playing group of strangers then wham... bam... poof....You're not in Kansas anymore...LOL
I don't know where to start.

I'm sitting here pondering what exactly to write....I enjoyed reading this book entirely, to the point I'd even audition to play Crystal, Reba's Chambermaid...LOL
This book takes Role Playing to a WHOLE new level.....I will never ever look at another role player the same again.

Summoned to Cuthburan to battle demons, Archmage Reba and the Crusaders of Light have NO clue what they are really up against. At first Reba totally didn't even believe Prince Szames about the demons. They learned fast!

It appears that Reba and the guys arrived just in time.

Without telling you all everything....one of the things that Reba and the guys did right away was save the life of the crown Prince Alexandros.
I'll state this right up front....This jerk isn't my favorite character in the book at all!!!!
I do however like Andrayia...LOL

They soon are a part of preparing Cuthburan for the up coming battle by all means possible. Reba soon finds out way more than she bargains for.....Both by hiding and by going to Church.
Too bad the guys aren't too thrilled with the news!

Author, Lynn Hardy, does an amazing job with her characters. They start off normal then they turn flipping AWESOME!
(If only I could use rhymes like Reba!)

This book is full of magic and fantasy which is one of my favorite genres. Hardy does a wonderful job with the character development. Reba, the protagonist, is strong willed, fair-minded and thinks fast on her feet. She makes a commanding focus for the story and really keeps the book moving along.

Her comrades are all nuanced and intriguing. They work together well and balance each other out. As with any good story, their combination of talents make them a powerful force for good.

The land they find themselves transported into is Cuthburan. The heirarchy is well entrenched in the culture and poses some challenges for our heros. They have to learn to navigate a new culture and challenge long standing prophecy and customs.

Hardy weaves a great story with lots of action to keep the pages turning. This book is a quick and easy read that keeps the reader engaged and wanting more. I really want to read the following books in the series. Best of all I hope they are able to make the story into a movie. It has all the components of a good movie. Strong characters, a mysterious battle between good and evil and inner conflict for the characters with just enough romantic tension to keep the reader wanting more.

If you like this genre of book, you will love this story and look forward to seeing it on the big screen.

I am once again a lucky lady to have won a wonderful e-book written by Lynn Hardy called Prophecy of the Flame Book One. I LOVED this book! I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did and quite frankly I read it within a couple of days because couldn’t put it down. It’s like reading Harry Potter and thinking, “What if I die before the next book comes out and I won’t know what happened!?” (No, I’m not crazy; this is a reasonable worry for me.)
The story centers on a group of people who role-play at conventions. It’s a fantasy world filled with magicians, trolls, healers...wait, and that could describe my love life. In a flash of bright light they somehow go from a hotel of role playing into the real thing as they end up in a medieval castle in the bodies of the characters they are playing. I don’t want to give too much away but for me, this is the beginning of a new fantasy franchise. I see the movie trailer in my mind now!

What a unique plot! What started as a band of friends gathering together role-playing takes a big jump and transports those characters into another world, with super powers! Reba is the main heroine and soon finds out she has a destiny and is one of the most powerful people on the planet. She also has a struggle with the heart, loving her husband at home but also desiring the prince on this planet. It makes for an interesting love triangle. The characters are interesting and complex, yet a bit dry. I wish there had been more emotion so I could know them better. I really enjoyed the illustrations in the novel - it really gave this reader a more vivid look at how the author perceived things and people. I've read that this novel has been picked up to be made into a movie, so I relish the thought of seeing it and see how it compares to the book. If you're looking for a magical fantasy by a new author, pick up Prophecy of the Flame!

Wow, this was a fun read one that I would definitely recommend for anyone interested in the genre. The story focuses on a group taking part in a roll playing activity and are transported to another dimension. A wizard in that dimension called for them to help his kingdom that is being attacked by demons. The plot is intriguing and it was written well, as it didn’t feel too rushed nor did it drag out too long. Lynn Hardy has done an excellent job making the characters seem almost real, by having some likable and some completely unlikable characters immersed through out the book. After reading Prophecy of the Flame I am definitely interested to know what is going to happen next in this saga and I am sure other readers are going to feel the same way. Hopefully the next book in the saga will be as enjoyable to read as this one was.

PROPHECY OF THE FLAME by Lynn Hardy is a sci-fi fantasy. #1 “Love Dawning”. It has a world of magic, many hurdles to overcome, a bit of romance, magic, and a lot of sci-fi,fantasy. It is the story of Rebecca(Reba), a firery heroine, an ordinary housewife, who enters a game,a wife, game player, and the Archmage.Alexandros, the Crown Prince of this magical world and his younger brother Szames. Alexandros, feels he must bed or wed Reba to gain “The Prophecy of the Flame”. If you enjoy a Dungeons and Dragons theme, then this is a good book for you. It is written in first person,in depth with some likable characters. It is listed as a YA,but I feel it may be for a little older than YA groups. Received for review from the author. Details can be found at her website and My Book Addiction and More.

It's a worry of every gamer's partner in the real world. That some day, their partner will just up and disappear into the game! (wait...that's my fear...so I assume that's everyone who's SO plays constantly) It is another new take on the fantasy/sci fi genre. It took me awhile to get into the book, but it kept my interest throughout the story. There were some really neat characters complete with flaws. This is a great book for those who always want to live in the game and see how things are really different! There is a lot of action to keep the story going and keep you involved in the book! I really liked the way that Reba handled herself during her struggles. It's worth a look, but don't blame me if you have to pick up book #2!

I really wanted to like this book more than I did... The story idea of this book really grabbed me. I thought the characters were shallow and not really fleshed out so it was difficult to relate to them. You don't really get an idea of what motivates their thoughts and actions until close to the end of the book. I found the dialog didn't really flow and the attempt at addressing ethical and political ideas was weak. However, the story line was good enough to keep me reading to the end and it's good enough for me to want to read the next installment.

I had an original review here and i guess i must have did something by accident sorry about that Lynn.

I had truly enjoyed this book, i really really enjoy modern romance novels and it takes alot for me to enjoy mystical/sci-fi ones and this did it for me this had a little of everything. I remember how the author had written Reba in the book, it gave you that sense that you the reader felt like you were Reba. I enjoyed the other characters in the book, the plot, the ending and i see the author has a follow up book that also looks interesting.

Thanks Lynn Hardy I truly enjoyed your work.

Prophecy of the Flame is probably every role-players dream - where the RPG slips into reality. I certainly enjoyed the book and found it quite entertaining if sometimes a little predictable. The characters were quite well fleshed out and Ms. Hardy has a talent for showing the action rather than telling. If you're an RPG fan then I highly recommend this, if not you may find it a little disappointing in parts but it is overall a fun, light-hearted read.

A BRILLIANT ORIGINAL STORY

If you are a fan of fantasy books, you should definitely pick up this book. I was hooked right from the start. Rebecca/Reba, a full-time housewife and occasional secretary, becomes a super hero when she and her fellow role playing teammates are transported to another world. What a great escape from the mundane world of cooking, cleaning and husbanda who care more about their stomachs.

Archmage Reba will stay in your thoughts for a few days after you read this well-written fantasy about a gaming convention that turns into the Twilight Zone. The characters are great and the book is action-packed as the gamers become characters who are transported into a world they had not quite bargained for. Reba and her magic aid her team as they find out they must fulfill a prophecy. The writer has done a superb job of storytelling and character development - a very exciting read!

A wonderful book about LARPing in a dungeons and dragons setting. If you role play, you will enjoy reading about what happens if you were actually transported into your game. It has great descriptions without being overwhelming and enough of a love story to keep you wanting more. Looking forward to the next book!

Although the book is long it moves quickly and I love the premise of reality and fantasy meshed together. If you like Tolkien you'll love this book. Lynn weaves a fantastic tale about modern people thrown into a fantastical land!

Better yet....it's being made into a movie!

Loved it. Can't wait for the second book to come out to see where she takes the stranded adventurers.
