Do you want to know Jesus the king? Would you like to see Christ through Jewish eyes?
The gospel of Matthew highlights Jesus Christ as King of the Kingdom of God. And despite having been an employee of the hated Roman government, Matthew writes the most Jewish gospel of all.
Musing on Matthew provides a devotion drawing attention to one verse or paragraph in each chapter of Matthew. These practical nuggets are a great way to start the day. These short devotions are similar to G. Campbell Morgan's Spotlight on the Word. Written for every-man, yet there are nuggets here that can be developed into excellent sermons or Bible Studies.

Musings on Matthew is a perfectly crafted, daily-sized chunk of the book of Matthew that is why asily digested for action, or further consideration. Carlton Coon gets right to the point of each chapter, explaining the application of each in a clear, simply understood, but readily useful manner. I would recommend this book as a daily devotion for anyone looking to grow in Jesus using the Word of God, not flighty ideas that don't put meat on spiritual bones. I gave this book five stars for its clarity, usefulness, and ease of use.
