Were it not for Hope...the Heart would Break
.
Ashlynn Pearce is an award winning author who writes fiery, passionate romances. Her characters are perfectly imperfect. She's a true believer that damaged people need love too.

Born and bred in Oklahoma, she lives with her husband, son and four pups. Despite four strokes, she continues to fight to keep her publishing dream alive.

After several visits to Nashville, she created the DirtSlap series. DirtSlap is a band - a little bit country, a dash of metal & a whole lot of dirt. Included in the series are FUEL, WRECK, KRUSH and FIXT…with more coming.

If you're searching for a bit hotter...leather clad...erotic...tattoos, look no further than the new series, Rolling Asylum Motorcycle Club——ON EDGE

She loves to hear from her fans, so you can contact her at:

Wow, this one was really, really good. It's about a girl whose been abused by her ex-husband meeting a guy who she met online in person. The people who gave birth to him (not parents) are so incredibly f*cked up, it's amazing he turned out decent. But he hit a woman once, so he thinks he's destined to become his dad and therefore maintains a distance from women. Sure, he gets laid, but if he even knows their name, it's unusual. But man, when these two meet in person, they are on fire, and it's so sweet. I mean they were perfect for each other. Perfect! Lots of hot sex, but a really nice love story as well. And the love story did it for me. My heart broke for each of them a couple of times during the story. I loved how it ended. I'm hoping there's a follow-up with Tony and Summer.

My biggest complaint is the book starts in the middle of the story. The hero and heroine had been chatting online with each other for several weeks and had already revealed their emotional baggage to each other before the book even starts. The story needed to be longer and have a lot fewer sex scenes. There were so many superfluous sex scenes that added nothing to the emotional development. At times I felt the writing was a bit amateur but it was an easy and quick read.

Tortured, tattooed bad boy with issues, yes please.

Becca and Jake have been chatting online for a month. She has problems with a violent ex husband and his has major issues stemming from a terrible upbringing. They have grown close during their daily chats, revealing things to each other they haven't to anyone else. When Becca is attacked by her ex the first person she wants to speak to is Jake. This leads to phone conversations and then much more.

Jake is such a great tortured hero and I would have love to have learnt more about him but this book is too short to explore any too in depth. There is a lot of sex and some funny secondary characters.

My only gripe is the length, the issues were too serious and weren't explored to their full potential.

Loved it!!!! Wish it was longer because a lot more could've been said about both their relationship and themselves as individuals. In a way I feel like I got Jake but I know pretty much nothing about Becca other than the fact that she was in an abussive marriage. But the chemistry was off the charts and I couldn't put the book down.

If I think about the book as a whole the word that comes to mind is incomplete....only because I believe that if you don't understand the characters and get to really know them you miss some important points.

It was hard for me to assign a rating to Rough Edges. I really enjoyed the storyline and Jake and Becca. Unfortunately, the story was rushed. This story could have easy been two to three times as long which would have made it even better. I felt like we missed out on a lot of important dialogue/interaction between the sub and main characters.

I will say that the last half of this book made up for the first (completely terrible) half. This is erotica. No one needs to read phone sex three times.

I almost flounced while I was reading with my friend Laura, but in the end, I was glad I stuck it out.

Worth the read if you like a little angst with your sex.

Really liked this one. The story was good and the characters had so much potential. It ended abruptly and left us needing more closure/explanation. By the time Jake opened up snd let Becca in, it was over.

I thought this was childish and a carbon copy of You've Got Mail.
