About the author

Ryder Windham is an American sci-fi author who has written over sixty Star Wars books, including novels, comics, reference books, and so on. He has also written junior novelizations for Indiana Jones movies. Since 1993, he has been working on Star Wars projects either by himself or with other authors. His reference book Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide had been on the New York Times Best Seller list for three weeks in 2005. Although he has written lots of books, accepted interviews, and appeared at several fan-conventions, little is known about his personal life.

I'd say the biggest thing this book has going for itself is the fact that it is literally pocket-sized. If you have already watched the Star Wars movies, there isn't that much new for you especially when it comes to the main characters, but it does give a spotlight to side characters who didn't get much screen time such as the other Podracers (who I liked reading about, since the book also shed some light on their relationships with one another) and if you're not familiar with most of the members of the Jedi High Council, you'll find some new tidbits of information about them as well.

Nice little guide to all the Star Wars characters

"STAR WARS Episode I Who's Who" is perfect as a quick guide to the characters in "The Phantom Menace" but doesn't give a lot of in-depth information on most the Key characters like, Qui-Gon Jinn or Queen Amidala. The book mostly repeats what we already can figure out by watching the movie. At least it has good clear pictures of the characters we hardly get to see like, Yaddle (the same species as Yoda).

A pocketbook for those who want more details on the characters from "Star Wars, Episode 1: The Phantom Menace". Some of the details were very fascinating, but overall, I already knew most of it. Yes, I've been a Star Wars fan my entire life.
