Simon Christopher Francis Furman is a British comic book writer who is best known for his work on Hasbro/Tomy's Transformers franchise, starting with writing Marvel's initial comic book to promote the toyline worldwide, as well as foundations for both Dreamwave Production's and IDW Publishing's takes on the Generation 1 minifranchise.
Simon Furman's knack for blurring the lines between good and evil when it comes to the Autobot/Decepticon wars really shines here. Standing out from all that is Death's Head, who can't be easily categorized as either. The origin of the Transformers given here fits in well with that given in the U. S. first issue, as well as making it seem less wonky. The variety of art styles here is a treat to the eyes, especially Dan Reed's. His nearly psychedelic style almost has me forgetting that I'm looking at toy robots.
