Taylor Dayton has been holding back a secret from her best friend, firefighter Christian he’s the only man who can douse the flames inside her. It’s time he noticed her as more than an ice cream and movie pal. What better way to melt the blinders from his eyes than propose an irresistibly sexy grooming session?
Christian can hardly believe the woman from his erotic dreams has just issued a siren call no red-blooded male can resist. He’ll give her what she wants, and when he’s done with her, she’ll need more than a fire hose to cool her down.
When their little game leads them to discover their secret fetishes and fantasies, they realize that this sexy seduction is no longer just a game.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cathryn Fox is a wife, mom, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She loves dogs, sunny weather, anything chocolate (she never says no to a brownie) pizza and red wine. Cathryn lives in beautiful Nova Scotia with her husband, who is convinced he can turn her into a mixed martial arts fan. When not writing, Cathryn can be found Skyping with her son living in Seattle (could he have moved any farther away?) shopping with her daughter in the city, watching a big action flick with her husband, or hanging out and laughing with friends.
I really enjoyed this fun, super hot quickie story about two best friends who secretly harbor non-platonic feelings for each other and decide to spice things up with a naughty little game meant to drive each other wild.
Taylor Dayton wants to set the sheets on fire with her yummy firefighter best friend Christian Bain, but she thinks he only sees her as an “ice cream and movie pal”. Little does she know that Christian hasn’t been able to stop thinking of Taylor in all sorts of wicked ways and compromising positions for months, but he’s scared to make a move and risk their friendship. But when Taylor’s friends give her a frisky, risqué idea of how to tempt and seduce Christian, they both get more than they bargained for when he turns the tables on her and some naughty good times ensue!
It’s an entertaining, funny, erotic quick read with a hunky firefighter, smokin’ hot sex, and a sweet HEA! I really like Cathryn Fox’s writing style and I definitely plan to read more of her works. 4 ½ stars!
Warning: This story contains explicit sex, including anal, and a scene of mild exhibitionism.
3 1/2 stars (I'm rounding it up because I'm in a good mood.)
As quickies go, this one was very good. It had a plot - gasp, that was quite a shock! - and Christian and Taylor were very likable. I'd never have the courage to do what she did, but it was fun (and kinky) to watch her going for it. ;)
A quick, funky, sweet, sexy, funny, and smokin' hot story of two friends secretly lusting for each other, but afraid to risk their relationship with sex. All they needed was a little push and a whole lot of lovin'. Hunky firefighter for a hero didn't hurt one bit.
One on One is a lovely short story about two best friends becoming lovers. Taylor is lusting after firefighter Christian for a long time now, but all they do together is watching movies and sharing ice cream. Her friend helps her to form an idea how to seduce him, namely playing the best friends card. She’s going to ask his advice on getting men to notice her. With the result that he can’t resist her. I like best-friends-turning-lovers stories and the fact that the hero is a sexy firefighter is a big bonus. But even without these elements Cathryn Fox writes a hot story. The sex scenes are steamy and the protagonists are very likeable. We learn about both their feelings because the point of view changes continually between Taylor and Christian. Their perspectives on the events are sometimes funny and add to the hotness of the attraction between the two of them. One on One is a quick but fun and hot read!
Definitely a cute story but it was TOO short!! I want to know what happens next? Does everything work out? etc...
I would have given 4 stars if it had been even another chapter longer lol. I felt like it sort of just left off in the middle of the story with no conclusion. Bummer.
For Taylor Dayton, it’s heaven and hell having drop-dead-gorgeous Christian Bain as a best friend and neighbor. It may be wonderful having all those ice cream and movie nights with Christian, but Taylor can’t help but want more. Finally, Taylor decides enough is enough and comes up with a plan to seduce the playboy firefighter of her dreams.
Christian is doing everything he can not to ruin his friendship with Taylor by adding sex into the mix. But when Taylor shows up on his doorstep needing erotic advice on how to pick up a man, Christian’s good intentions go out the window. When Christian discovers it’s him Taylor wants to seduce, the sexy fireman decides it’s time to turn the tables. Taylor’s little game is about to get a whole lot hotter.
Better put in a call to your local fire station, because One on One is hot enough to burn! Cathryn Fox has delivered a sizzling, scintillating romance that made me smile and wish I had a sexy, single fireman living next door. I love a story where the protagonists are best friends who have been secretly in love with one another but each is unaware of the other’s desire. It’s so much fun to watch the barriers crumble, and I enjoyed watching that happen for Taylor and Christian. The only drawback to One on One is that the firemen puns were slightly overdone and there were a few points where the prose was a bit purple for my taste. Yet, all in all, I found One on One to be a red-hot delight.
REVIEW COURTESY OF FALLEN ANGEL REVIEWS (A RECOMMENDED READ):
Taylor Dayton is desperate for her best friend, firefighter Christian Bane, to see her as more than a friend. They have been friends for a while, but Taylor doesn't know how to attract his attention. She has seen the women he is used to dating and feels she doesn't compare. With the advice of two friends, she sets out to get him in her bed once and for all.
Christian has had feelings for Taylor almost since they became friends, but he has experienced what happens to relationships when you want more... They are ruined. Bedding numerous women is not helping him forget Taylor anymore. A night home alone is tempting him to do things he shouldn't, so he heads for the door. Just as he opens it, there stands Taylor.
Taylor starts heating things up the minute she walks in. Christian tries to act normal, but finally can't hold back any longer. He sees that Taylor wants him as much as he wants her, but can they make a go of it?
Once again, Ms. Fox has proven herself to be a talented writer. One on One was a hot and sensual story about two friends coming to terms with their feelings for each other. I loved the sexual tension between Christian and Taylor. Christian was strong and sexy and Taylor was just as yummy. and sparks really flew when these two got together. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I loved One on One, and I will be waiting (im)patiently for Ms. Fox's next amazing book.
This was pretty darn short, but for being so short it was pretty good.
Taylor and Christian have been friends for awhile and while both of them are attracted to each other sexually, neither of them want to be the first to make the first move out of the "friend zone" for fear of ruining their friendship. Finally one night Taylor decides to take the lead and seduce Christian with a little trick she has up her sleeve.
Not a whole lot of romance, but lots of sexy and because they had the "we've known each other for awhile off the page" thing going on, the shortness of this one worked.
I'd definitely recommend it if you want something quick and hot. :)

I was promised a firefighter. Other than being told he was one, I didn't get one. Yes. Very bummed about that.
This is a very short story, mainly about the girl seducing the boy in an interesting way. No plot, no character development. All right for when you're in the mood for something short and smutty.
One on One is a short story about two best friends being more. Taylor is wants more from firefighter Christian, but all they do together is watching movies and sharing ice cream. Taylor seduces him. It is a hot and steamy book that will take only a hour to read
For a novella length story, this one packs quite a punch - friends to lovers, roleplaying, exhibitionism, backdoor action, scorching hot firemen, in addition to likeable characters. Kudos to Cathryn Fox - this is my first read by her, and I am impressed.
I mark it as 3 stars in my aldiko reader but can't seems to remember how was the story as I read it a monyh ago. Guess it's either am getting old or the story is forgettable
