AVERY:
Death finds us all, but not me. At least not yet.
I cheated death.
I stared it in the face, witnessing its potent cruelty.
I want to live, to right my wrongs and leave the life I resent behind me. I may have survived to live another day, but it’s at the hands of something much worse. Someone much worse, and far more dangerous.
Not only does he have the ability to eradicate me from this world. He also makes me feel more alive than I ever dared dream of.

JAMIESON:
We’re the very reason you live or die. We own you.
You just don’t know it.
I own her now.
Keeping her alive is treason. I’m betraying the very essence of my being. Insulting the very institute I bleed for.
It all comes down to one thing.
She’ll either live by The Panel or die by it. It’s her choice.

This book right here is a fine example of my love-hate relationship with novellas!! Okay so I am greedy, I want more!! I devoured this book so fast and was left feeling hungry for more Avery and Jamieson!! And the whole damn Panel🥵

This book is short, fast-paced, and packed with drama!

Some of what to expect;
- Secret Society
- Prorced Proximity
- Strangers to Lovers
- Kidnap
- Unaliving ☠️

Our two leads are Jamieson and Avery. They meet one rainy day and can't stop thinking about each other after.
The second time they met will change everything for them both.

Jamieson is the son of the leader of The Panel, he is handsome, deadly and unapologeticly brutal! Him and his brothers are the underbelly of Londons criminal activity, they go unnoticed suit wearing CEOs during the day and deadly unalivers throughout the night and well whenever they are needed. But one encounter with a beautiful stranger leaves him feeling something he hasn't in a very long time.. he doesn't know why or what to do with these feelings other than he never wants them to stop.
Can he convince her he is the man she needs?
Will secrects lead them all to disaster before anything can develop?

Avery is beautiful, strong-willed, and wants her life back. She is in a dead-end relationship and struggling to find a way out. Then one night she witnesses something she wished she hadn't and it leaves her struggling more, she thinks she'll be stuck in this relationship forever and doesn't know what to do. Throw in the handsome stranger she met in the rain, and her emotions are all over the place. She wants adventure, she wants to live and be loved passionately.
Will danger find her before she can escape?
Can she open up to the mysterious man she can't stop thinking about?

For a short book, it sure had a lot packed into it; danger, secrets, lies and a whole lot of lust.

I would very much like more of these two and I hope there will be more to this series! I'm not ready to let Jamieson and Avery go.

Forgot to write my review but I had actually finished this an hour or so after I started it the same day.

This story revolves around Avery who plans to break up with her long time boyfriend but gets caught up as a witness to the crime of a local thug. After lying to police and the guilt eating her alive she goes to confess and ends being taken away by the technical leader (or soon to be), Jamieson of something called The Panel.

The story is a cute read yknow. 💁🏽‍♀️ I saw a snippet of it on Instagram mentioning a one way mirror. The Novella is okay, the smut was basically fade to black not fiery. The back and forth between the two was alright but their relationship was rushed coming onto the end I guess. 💀 Maybe I'm complaining from my slump but yeah.

There were some funny moments, he did Clive I think his name was dirty. Seth, Ryan and Barclay slayed yknow. Shoutout to the fact they mentioned my home island. 😂👏

I love that Avery told off her ex and such. The story has a good premise. Anyways, I can't remember everything about the story. So here's what I can.

This was SO good!

I’ve LOVED everything I’ve read by so far and this was no different. I’m working my way through all she has written!
I had The Panel on my TBR list and then I read Amidst the Chaos within the Vows & Vendettas Anthology, which alluded to this dark organisation and I got even more excited.

When reading Amidst the Choas from the Mafia POV you can’t imagine liking a story based on the big dark Panel that are worse than any other criminal organisation out there but of course when you read about the brothers of The Panel, you learn to understand and just want more from them!

I love when an authors creates a whole new world for you to get lost in and A.R. Thomas writes some of the best book boyfriends to fall in love with too!

This was so clever, I CRAVE more from this world, from this couple, from these brothers!

4.5✨ I missed Rachel’s writing and I have been waiting to read her work since Escape the Light. The Panel is her latest release, a short story as part of the Cheater anthology.

Avery was not happy with her life and she wanted to break free from her a$$ of a boyfriend. She decided to end things but got roped into a dangerous situation and ended up being on the radar of The Panel. When Jamieson first saw Avery, he was completely mesmerised by her big blue eyes, pert arse and sassy attitude. Once he found out the Panel was after her, he took it upon himself to safeguard her even if it meant going against the brotherhood.

Jamieson made his feelings known from the get-go and he was desperate to win Avery’s heart. Every day, he tried to break through her walls bit by bit, hoping she would let him in. She constantly denied her attraction to him, despising herself for falling for her captor. The more she pulled away, the harder he pushed. The sarcasm, flirting and banter were amazing.

Jamieson might be a cocky, ruthless and deadly son of a gun, he sure knew how to make his girl happy. The things he did, SWOON! He did not only give Avery freedom and happiness, but also confidence. He lit a fire inside her and she was ready to step out of men’s shadow to flourish and live her life the way she wanted.

Jamieson and Avery are one hell of a couple. I enjoyed every single moment of their story and they left me wanting more. I hope we get to see more from this universe, or even perhaps a crossover with Callan’s world... just saying!

Mafia-esque

Was just sort of an OK book. Has all the elements but no spice, intrigue or excitement. Also the FMC I guess is supposed to get a version of Stockholm syndrome but honestly it’s like she’s dick-matized. She goes from hating him, to sleeping with him, to in love with him with zero development.

This was an easy read. I read this book in two days. I liked to read it. I couldn't put the book away. I also like the way it was writen, but I would have liked it more if it was bit longer so we could see more of the character development. In my opinion it was too short, because the plot was good but it should have been more elaborated.

What a book!! I absolutely loved this, Jamison and Avery are both amazing characters. The book was short and easy to read and if it wasn’t for the fact I’ve been so busy I would have finished it in one sitting. The story leaves room for books to follow which I highly hope and cannot wait for!

secret society Stockholm syndrome

The only thing standing between Avery and certain death is Jamison. This is fast paced, easy read. It ends leading up to the next book in the series.
