Does your pampered Persian princess have a talent for interior design? Does your dapper tabby harbor the soul of an opera diva? Or is your sleek Siamese with the selective palate a restaurant critic in the making? Cat career coach Ann Dziemianowicz helps our furry companions navigate the increasingly high-stakes feline job market and streamlines the kitty job-search process by giving cats the tools they need to identify skill sets and make sound employment decisions. The convenient, completely private in-home Meowers-Briggs Career/Personality Test is a unique self-assessment tool that establishes your cat’s “type”—outgoing or reserved? self-effacing or self-confident? witty or witless? Dziemianowicz then profiles thirty-four thoughtfully selected career matches. Finally, it’s time for cats realize their full potential and go to work so you can sit back, relax, and take a well-earned cat nap.
Great! The Meowers-Briggs personality test was pretty accurate for my two cats. Howard happily and helpfully answered each of the questions, all while getting his daily massage. Luna answered as well, although more reluctantly--and I had to agree not to touch her, thereby messing her fur, for 24 hours.
The results are as follows:
Howard, my tabby boy, scored highly as an Intellectual Extravert (IE). He's very friendly and personable and likes most people he meets (once he gets to know them, of course). In fact, once he gets to know you, you can't get him off your lap. He always greets his friends at the door and demands pettings and belly rubs and then follows them to the couch where he sits on their laps and patiently listens to them tell about their day (of course you can't stop petting him). He would make an excellent Lobbiest or School Teacher.
Luna, my little Siamese princess, scored as a Creative Introvert. These cats are more tempramental and prefer to be left alone except for the rare occasion they seek out attention (and that's usually only when they want something). True that for Luna. Although not very friendly (she hates to be touched), she's very talkative and not shy about letting the world know exactly what she's thinking. Food Critic or possibly Jazz Musician.
This book is a quick read and is highly entertaining! If you have cats, this book is for you. Now to help How-Cat and Luna get their resumes ready so they can join the workforce...
When I see any book about cats I have to read it! I found Careers For Your Cat in my local virtual library one late night browsing and even though I no longer have a cat who might qualify for a career I could not resist. It is an amusing little volume which I read in about an hour. Career counselor and author Ann Dziemianowicz has done a thorough job on the subject. She includes the Meowy-Briggs Career/Personality Test to help cats and their humans discover the best career path for the feline job seeker. according to personality type.. There are a number of CATegories and job descriptions in which to choose for each feline personality type and like humans, most cats could fall under more than one category. There is even hope for the Inert cat here. The accompanying pictures by Ann Boyajian are really cute and illustrate the cat in the workplace environment thus providing practical example and inspiration. In these tough economic times this book can be a useful resource beneficial to the entire household with your furry friend bringing home the big bucks. At the the very least it will provide cat lovers with a little entertainment and understanding of their feline companions and a quick book to read to bring up their GR Reading Challenge numbers. i did it for both! :)
