Have you ever dreamed of the chance to go back in time and change the decisions of the past? Have you ever wondered what would happen if you’d done one little thing differently? Davey Jones drifted through life, never achieving anything major, until he took part in a mad experiment. Like most of us, Davey Jones loved science fiction, so he should have known better than to trust a mad scientist…now he must live his own life over again, but should he, or can he, change anything?

I do not easily give 5 stars to the books I read, but I really enjoyed this one. I've read it for the first time few years ago, and now I'm reading it again to make sure my rating is correct - and so far it's as good as I'm remembering it. I highly recommend it to everyone. I can't say it for the rest book of the series - as much as I didn't want the story to end, it had to and the first book was enough.
I liked the start - washed-up army vet gets to go back to when he was 12 and relive his life with the hard-earned knowledge of 40+ hard years. I like that he's kinder to his cousin, starts to exercise and eat right, protects his sister more etc. But it's written in little story arcs (it's massive)that get progressively more silly, till I couldn't stand it any more. I gave up.
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Do Over Saga by Dan Kirk? Please let me know at archondude@gmail.com. I read it a long time ago and fell in love with it. I haven't been able to find it in any format. Any help would be welcome thank you.
***Before re-reading*** I've read this so long ago. I think I was 20 (?) because I remember laying in bed with my laptop sideways because back then I didn't had an e-reader.
I adored it. Especially the first one in the series. I can't remember why exactly. I loved the romance but how was dealt with family members made it all the better. Very realistic. It actually showed how you could love somebody but condemn their actions. How sometimes you can forgive things and sometimes (with very good reasons) not.
What I didn't liked was the descriptions of some historical events? Then again I was actually studying history and wanted to read something else then my what I had to already for my courses.
I want to rate it 5 stars because after all this time I still think about it. TW:
