Vashon Island’s residents struggle to cope with their new reality. Amidst starvation, death, and the destruction of society, they are forced to deal with criminals turned pirates and raiders and a foreign army occupying their home under the guise of humanitarian aid.
Niko, along with his family and neighbors, band together to not only survive but also to help the beleaguered United States military drive the Chinese invaders out of Washington State. To succeed, they and their fellow islanders must stand together, or they will all surely fall. It will take everything they have to stand against the forces arrayed against them, but new allies rise to help in the fight, and together, they will do whatever is needed to keep America free and save their homes.
I had read the first Vashon Island Fall and liked it and failed to see that there was a second book. I mostly enjoyed this as well. The strength of the book is the main characters and the way the community cooperates. Annika was a bit annoying and doesn't seem to understand the scope of the danger. There were a couple of editing issue ("held up his first" should have been fist...nothing too distracting). The romance between Liz and Samuelson seemed to consume a lot of unnecessary story time and the prison/gang-lord is a bit of a tired story element. I also found it a bit curious that the occupying Chinese force would have made no effort to visit the entire island, especially knowing that the North Koreans had been eliminated there. This didn't seem too reasonable to me. Nonetheless, I look forward to book 3.
In a time of woke stories this triumph brings patriotism to the fore front. I hope the Chinese read this and discontinue their pursuit of Taiwan. I truly enjoyed the breath of conflict in these books and the continuance of the o stall story! It is fabulous.
This series is just plain awesome! I’ve read all of the books and they do not disappoint. I’m left with hope after reading this one. Actually each story gives you hope In fellow human beings, but this one the battle is huge! I’m so looking forward to more,
This was the best of the many tales in the series as it tied in with all the others in as smooth a transition as one might have. The details were great and completely provided a mental image of the situation the author was describing.
With the Chinese picking up where the Norks left, it's up to the American people to take the fight to them as resistance fighters. With the help of a few SF types they take action. Lots and lots of action with a great cast of characters.
Again, wow! I kept hoping something would happen that did at the end of this book. The resistance fighters were some of the bravest characters written. I enjoyed this book very much and would highly recommend it and the others in this series. Excellent writing!
This book contains alot of script from Korea Fall book. I understand why but I found myself skipping through those pages. It was refreshing to find less Leftist and woke bashing in this book. Overall these stories are propoganda vehicles for the Right. I am still enjoying the action and adventure.
Some book series peak after the first one but Vashon Island Fall 2 is even better than the first one. It has the right balance of action and story building and the characters keep growing on you. Can’t wait to start the third one!
