Anya Bast is the author of numerous works of romantic fiction, mostly all paranormal and mostly all scorching hot. She lives in the country with her husband, daughter, eight cats, a dog, and an odd assortment of rescued animals.

She grew up in Minnesota and still favors the colder climates. After high school she moved to the southeast United States where she attended college. While in graduate school she sold her first book and decide to pursue her lifelong dream of writing instead of a career in psychology.

Somewhat reclusive by nature, she can be drawn out with a good bottle of red wine, classic movies, or good music. When she’s not writing, she can be found trying to grow organic vegetables, shopping in thrift stores for that perfect piece of clothing, or dreaming about travel to some faraway country.

She’s hard at work on a brand new series for Berkley Sensation right now, while winding up her national bestselling Elemental Witches quartet.

Oh, dear author, how I miss your fantasy erotica. It's truly magickal ♡ and I would follow you anywhere.
Please come back to us...we all need to see how romance can be through your words again.
I only have a few of your older reads left unread, of which I hold dear as a treasure *sighes*
This year I am treating my reading heart to a reread of your Dark Magick series...best dark Fae world ever!!!

I have absolutely no idea how Anya Bast does it, but every erotica novella of hers that I've read so far has seemed like a small chunk taken out a much larger universe. They feel like snippets in a surprisingly fleshed out world, almost as though I could insert them into full-fledged novels, and they'd feel right at home among the pages of a longer project. That was the case with Fury and Tranquility , and it's damned near the same case here with Twilight.

It follows Dai and Nico, who are two parts of a three-sided Sacred Triad, looking for their final leg of the fucking tripod. (That was a really, really bad Girl Next Door reference.) Dai is short-tempered, lighter-complected half while Nico is the darker, more composed one. They both find and protect (wait for it) Twyla, who's been scarred by a terribly violent rape done to both her and her mother years ago. It was an incident that caused her magick to flee from her and take refuge in Nico and Dai.

Now, aside from the atrocity that is Twyla's name, this book is actually pretty well put together. Twyla has made it exceedingly difficult for anyone to find her because she's been running from town to town since the incident, and Nico and Dai are runnin' out of time to pin her down and complete their Triad because the Encroaching Darkness is... well, encroaching, sinking the world into an ever more present darkness. Boom. The catch? (And what just so happens to be my favorite thing about Twilight?) Nico and Dai are both men, and they're lovers.

I thought that aspect was especially interesting because, initially, Twyla feels as though she is intruding on their relationship even though they insist she join the Triad. When, really, they want her to join! I dunno, I just get warm fuzzies when I see a male/male relationship handled as well as Anya Bast handled Nico and Dai's here, sexually and emotionally. Being that they really had to be careful around Twyla for the first half of their relationship with her due to her understandable fear of men overpowering her, I was surprised when I found myself genuinely rooting for them. Usually, when a man panders to a woman's fear, it freaks me out because it seems insincere, but Dai and Nico had none of the creep factor going on.
Tears coursed down her cheeks and Dai leaned over her and tenderly kissed them away. Their love felt like a palpable thing, like a velvet blanket wrapping around her, warming her through. If love was an energy, Dai and Nico emanated it now in totality. The sensation made her heart swell with deep emotion, made her see the world so differently. No longer was it a world where she was made to run and hide from those who wished her harm. Her reality was suddenly filled with the bright light of belonging and mutual caring.

She was loved.

That knowledge transformed everything.

I'm kinda gonna miss these three. I wish there were more books - or novellas or whatever - that explored this Sacred Triad stuff. Because, honestly, think of the possibilities! With three sides to a Triad, there's always room for fun - and foolery - in the mix, I think! I don't expect there will be any more, but I guess that just means I'll have to write my own. ;]

This was an erotic and sensual story of magic and love. Though this was a short story, the characters were well developed and the romance wasn't rushed. I do love that they gave her time to come to terms with the polyamorous relationship, even though there was a reason to rush.

As for the reviewers that complained about the nature of the threesome, well, it does plainly describe the nature of their relationship in the blurb. The interactions were tastefully written, and the scenes were expected for a MMF encounter.

I have read other stories from this author, and will continue to do so in the future.

A fantastic erotic about Twyla and her mother who possess magic and have to move from town to town because of their “strangeness”. Men eventually rape both of them and kill her mother and Twyla forgets all about her magic. Until 2 men coming searching for Twyla to complete there triad, she is afraid of them, plagued by that night so long ago. They eventually show her the love and respect they have for her, and the triad is formed. Twyla goes after those men though and gets her own revenge that they can never do that to other women again. Becoming part of the triad brings her wealth she could not have imagined and love as well.

(Explícito). Es demasiado corto. Está bien escrita la historia pero simplemente no me gustó mucho. Está narrado en tercera persona y ofrece los puntos de vista de los protagonistas.

Nico and Dai are mages who have been looking for the missing link to their Sacred Triad. They are the only Sacred Triad that is not complete. A magical force is over taking the kingdom in which they live. It is well known that the seven Sacred Triad’s can defeat the Encroaching Darkness, but Nico and Dai are missing the third person to their triad.

Twyla has shunned her magick. She has been chastised and severely abused due to it. She has lost the only person that ever cared for her because of her magick. Twyla wants to trust Nico and Dai when they come for her. She can feel the magickal connection between them. Learning to trust again is her biggest holdup.

This trio worked very well for me. Nico and Dai are so easily likeable. They have an incredibly strong friend and lover relationship. They know Twyla has been hurt. They never once push her for what they need from her. They work with her to earn her trust. They show her that she is capable of being in a loving and caring relationship.

I liked this erotic novella. It has male-male sex scenes, male-female, and male-female-male scenes. I love all types of erotic romances. This one combines three different types all in one great book. Nico and Dai have a solid relationship from the moment reader’s start reading this book. Twyla seeing the compassion and love these two men share for each other helps her with her decision to join them.

MMF sex scenes barely linked together with a back story of magic and saving the world. This is all about the sex - which is pretty hot.
