4.5 stars.
It lost half a star because I really wanted an epilogue. I wanted to see where she went next, what she did with her life. I barged right into book two to see if she made some kind of appearance there, but no. Oh, well...

This is DiAnn Mills at her best, with a whole group of suspects that might be involved in Paige's case. I loved the questioning of everyone and everything and kept turning all the pages until the very end!

Okay, whoa. I may have a favorite book. XD
Absolutely lovely- finally, a realistic CIA operative! Who actually acts like what she's supposed to be. So refreshing. Yeah, I really love this book. A lot.
On second reading- phenomenal characters and awesome plot, though the writing style leaves some do be desired. :)

On June 3 I shared just how much I was enjoying this book. And was very excited when the author stopped by and left a comment it. (I still am amazed at how many authors have stopped by and commented. Really cool!)

The book finished as well as it started. DiAnn Mills created characters that are easy to love. Miles is lovable and easy to cheer for as both a football coach and a “bo” for Paige. Paige is just a great character with so much depth. As a new Christian she struggles with her past, her faith, and growing feelings toward Miles. The secondary characters add a lot to the story as well. The conflict between Walt and Chris is true to real life and high school football players. The villain and his cohorts were equally well done and added the proper tension to the story.

This book is fast paced and has some very nice twists that kept me guessing. I love mysteries and even though it was obvious from the beginning who the “bad guy” was, there were several unknowns.

I hadn’t read anything by DiAnn Mills prior to this book, but look forward to reading more by her. Her style is engaging and easy to read. If you like Terri Blackstock’s Private Justice series I’m sure you’ll enjoy this book.

If the author didn't spend about half of this book trying to convince me to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord & Savior, I think it would have been a better book to read. Honestly, I could cut out every sentence regarding religion in this book and it would be shorter (probably a plus) and also would have been a better book as the religion contained in the book felt forced - almost as if the author didn't believe it either but wanted to add some depth to the characters - and wasn't at all necessary. If you like a good book about a former CIA operative that accepts Christ into her heart, this book is for you. If none of that sound appealing, skip it.

This suspense novel was a bit slow to get started; but once it did, lots of action. Enough red herrings and twists to keep my attention along with plenty of suspects. I look forward to reading the others in this series.

Starts slow but action heats up to big ending.
This book is unusual. I am having a hard time reviewing it.
Pluses: unusual job for heroine (undercover CIA operative) and her daytime job is small town librarian in Oklahoma!
Her struggle to reconcile being a Christian and doing the CIA stuff is quite interesting....
Miles (hero) as high school teacher and football coach
Minuses: overwrought plot which made it a weak, unbelievable plot ..
Especially the throw-over of a governorship
(knowing how much money and prestige goes into such a political race) by the head bad guy and “puppeteer” of this tale.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I really enjoyed reading this romantic suspense. You get pulled into Paige Rogers’ world in a small town in Oklahoma. She’s the local librarian who can handle whatever is thrown at her because she was a CIA operative who “died” in Africa on a mission.

Split Creek, Oklahoma is a quiet small town, not anything like what Paige was used to, but surprisingly she settled into her life, enjoying her job as the town librarian. But some of the people of the town aren’t who they seem to be. Someone is watching her for Daniel Keary, the shoo-in as the governor of Oklahoma and the man who wants her out of the way because she knows the type of man Keary really is.

DiAnn Mills has put together a story of opposites—a quiet life versus a life and death situation, a local high school football coach versus a high powered lawyer and the next governor of Oklahoma, lies and secrets versus honesty. She has woven together a story with intriguing characters who are thrust into fighting for their way of life and in the end their very lives.

Had to force myself to finish this book. Wanted to see if it got better and need resolution for the unfortunate main character. There were many holes in the plot. Ex-CIA, Christian, small town librarian. The main character is trying to be covert and hide her former life but having conversations with the villian of her former life in public so all can hear. She's supposed to be tough but allows the villian to control her life for 7 years. I won't go into the rest so as not to spoil for those who would like to read it.
I consider myself Christian but found all the references to God and faith overly abundant and seemingly forced. There was no point to them; they lead nowhere and did nothing for the plot.

Picked it up as a free book on my Kindle, but I only finished it because I hate not finishing something I've started to read. Too overloaded with references to Christianity for me to stomach. Seemed to be the main agenda of the book, other than the plot of the story itself. Maybe the author was trying to provide the character with some depth, but it just wasn't necessary. I really doubt it is that much of a moral dilemma for a Christian to be a CIA agent. No suspense, awful dialogue. Main character annoyed the hell out of me.

This is a really great book. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Living in small-town Oklahoma myself, I really appreciate when an author can at least semi-accurately portray life in small-town OK. DiAnn Mills portrayed it well; I wasn't constantly saying to myself how unrealistic and unbelievable this book was.
I'll definitely be reading this one again when I get a chance.

Bleck! I hated this book. Unrealistic dialogue. Dumb premise. A really bad pitch at converting the reader to Christianity. Every other page was a prayer or espoused some neo-Christian doctrine. Don't recommend at all.

Written from a Christian perspective, I liked that this book didn't have a lot of inappropriate stuff. However, I never found the story line to be very imaginative nor believeable.

This was my first time reading a DiAnn Mills novel. The characters were very believable and likable I might add. Full of twist and turns this novel will keep you interested. If it seems to start off slow just hold on.

“.....CIA operative Mikaela Olsson has lived undercover and split creek, Oklahoma for seven years gathering information to prove allegations that Daniel Keary betrayed his country men eight years ago in Angola and has been involved in illegal practices since then. Olsson faced persecution and threats to her family from Keary in an effort to keep her quiet. However, yesterday, through a well organized sting operation, Olsson exposed Daniel Keary and others who attempted to kill her....”

This was the first Christian book I've read that carried the scheming, conniving, action-packed story plot I enjoy. The heroine of the story is a woman with a tainted past that seeks to bring to justice a man whose betraying the United States & thinks he can get away with it.

A former CIA operative living in a rural town has some major decisions to make. She's growing in her Christian faith but her past will not leave her alone. These decisions will put the people she love & care about in a position that could cost them their lives. Sometimes the choices we make works out better for all.

WOW! Diann Mills never disappoints! This was a wild ride with Paige and Miles. Come to small town Oklahoma where family and football abound but secrets loom. Paige desires nothing more than to bring about justice for those who can't fight for themselves. Miles knows there is more to this small town librarian who has captured his heart but she has a wall built around her that he can't penetrate. This page turner will keep you up long past bedtime as the fight for justice rages against evil

I really enjoyed a hero who was a regular guy. No trained skills, just a man who loved a woman and was willing to help however he could. I also enjoyed the side story of his relationships with and care of the boys on the football team.

Author DiAnn Mills treats readers to a suspense-filled read with her newest book, Breach of Trust, due out in March 2009.

The story's heroine, Paige Rogers, is an ex-CIA operative, who has gone into hiding in a small town in Oklahoma. To protect her family and loved ones, she has even faked her death and changed her identity.

As the town's librarian, she thinks she has the perfect cover, until her former boss, Daniel Keary, finds her and threatens her if she doesn't cooperate with him. To make matters worse, he's on track to become the next governor of Oklahoma.

The hero of the story is Miles Laird, the high school football coach. He doesn't hide his interest in Paige, but she keeps him at a distance because of her hidden past and threatening future. Dangerous circumstances bring them together in a breathless race to save the life of a child.

This wonderful story is one you won't want to miss. Here a few things I particularly enjoyed about Breach of Trust:

~Believable Characters - The author made a pistol-packing librarian seem like she lived next door. Paige Davis is realistically portrayed as both a professional secret agent and a small-town bookworm. Miles Laird is a godly man who cares about Paige and his students, and will do what is necessary to protect them all. The character of Daniel Keary is extremely well-drawn, and the reader is actually pulled inside his thoughts by a point-of-view technique (see the next point).

~POV Technique - DiAnn Mills made a brilliant move by writing most of the story in traditional third-person, but using first-person for the character of Daniel Keary. This technique lets us inside the twisted mind of the antagonist. Fascinating!

~Plot Twists Galore! - The making of a great suspense read is found in plot points that the reader doesn't expect. Mills pulls this off with superb mastery.

If you're on the lookout for the unexpected, the dangerous, and the suspenseful, don't miss out on reading Breach of Trust by DiAnn Mills!

Fabulous. Absolutely love it. Best ever. This was a wonderful read. With my Alias addiction, this story felt familiar, yet was all at the same time unique and new. I am so pumped about this new Call of Duty Series from DiAnn Mills that I am extremely doubtful I will be able to stand the wait until 2010 for book #2.

We have action and adventure with tons of espionage. There are the CSI operatives, and counter-operatives. Good guys and bad. And then of course, there is the theme of how the everyday life works Jesus right in.

Fully a page turner, edge of your seat book. I could not find out what would happen next fast enough. I did see the bad guy early on, but I claim that to be my ultimate spy skills showing through. *grin*

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is good for anyone who enjoys shows such as Alias or 24, movies like Breach, Shooter, or others. If you read and enjoyed anything by Jill Elizabeth Nelson or Melanie Wells, you will absolutely LOVE this book and I am sure the entire series as well.

Give me more!!!

I should never have tried to read this after a good Dan Brown! I wasn't expecting the slowness, the lack of descriptive text, or the overt Christianity. I have no problem with religion in a book, but I wasn't expecting, two chapters in, the statements and prayers. The lead character's a little too paranoid for my liking as well, but I still can't really figure out why she's hiding but seemingly the one person she's hiding from knows exactly where she is!

I couldn't get into this book at all. It was very slow-moving. It wasn't so much that the author was building up background, but the whole plot line was slow. There was no background build-up that I'm used to seeing in books that take a while to get good.

It was good, but not the same level of good as the Texas Legacy series. LOVED those. I just felt like the characters lacked depth in this one. We really didn't find out much about Mikaela or Miles beyond what got them into their current situation.

Trite, boring, obvious

It’s fast food fiction. Nothing of note here. It’s a borderline romance novel and characters randomly do things against an all knowing villain with limitless money and connections.

A little mystery, a little religion, a little romance

Not enough of any of them to be much more than just a novel. not much intrigue and fairly predictable

Suspense, mystery, some humor, danger, and romance were all a part of this story, which was such a great combination that I really enjoyed. Paige Rogers has started life over with a new identity in a small town after her family is threatened. I love her cover as a librarian and wonder if she ever read suspense novels? :)

Miles Laird, football coach and an amazing caring man, as a love interest was something I felt really added to the plot. He wasn't intimidated by Paige and helped her overcome her fears. He was just the man she needed to navigate her past and see that the future was going to be great with him in it.

This is the first book in the series and I am looking forward to reading more!
