Waaaaaaay more promotional the first one. It even ends with GET READY FOR JAWS 2!
There are a few fun tidbits from the troubled production, but there's no narrative to be found as each chapter is a snapshot of a different part of the project (Teen Actors, Director, Special Effects and so on) which results in a lot of information being repeated. The most interesting part is the early going before the director of LETS SCARE JESSICA TO DEATH, but we only get brief tidbits of what his version would have looked like (Much more dour). Like the first JAWS, it would be unfair to expect journalist Ray Loynd to b able to equal the original JAWS LOG by Carl Gottlieb. If it was a tell-all, maybe, but the dirt just isn't there.
There was an expanded edition published by BEAR MEDIA a few years back, but I didn't get to read that one.
Not quite the warts-and-all expose I was perhaps foolishly expecting, this still offers invaluable insight into the studio filmmaking process, and offers plenty of perspective on the curious film that ultimately resulted.
