Frannie was too much of an emotionally bipolar basketcase who put Jinx through the wringer for me to like this story any more. Jinx himself started out on the stalkeriffic side of sanity, and Frannie's reactions to those efforts were realistically discouraging. Once they reached an accord, though, and she agreed to give a relationship a shot, her continued steadfast belief that Jinx would leave her (not to mention her being a mean and pissy rhymes-with-witch 80% of the time) irritated the living daylights out of me. She didn't think she was good enough for him, and I honestly agreed with her after she treated him so terribly SO many times.
I know that we later got more of her background and the reasons why she was so emotionally scarred, but it made me respect her less to think she was letting that baggage hold her back for THAT long. Jinx was more than justified to lash out at her when she dealt him the final blow, and I kind of wish he had stayed mad at her a little longer because, really, she was awful and deserved it. Is it REALLY that hard to believe in the "fairy tale," as she put it? I don't know - it just didn't work for me, and Jinx DID deserve better.
Jinx was the saving grace of this story, once you look past the initial crazy stalker shenanigans he pulled. I thought some of the measures he took towards courtship and wooing were just the sweetest and most romantic ideas I'd read in quite some time. Unfortunately, he wasn't enough to pull this story out of the "it was okay" territory into which the terribly cliched self-pitying heroine dragged it.

This has an amazing hero, who falls instantly in love With a shrew. I couldn't like her, even when we knew her whole back story, she just wasn't the kind of character that I could warm up to, always waspish, bitting and some times very very mean. And a coward. That said jinx was a delight, loving romantic and so kind and caring to this woman. Every time she told herself jinx could't love her, I had to wonder why he would. I definitely would rate this higher save for a personal dislike of the character type of the heroine.

I have never so intensely hated a book in my life.
Let me preface this by saying that I minored in women's studies and consider myself a feminist. I am all about the concept of a female protagonist being empowered, independent, and alone if she chooses to be. The "heroine" of this book, Frannie, is a self-made woman who had to restart her life after a bitter divorce. She has a great job, a home, and is fairly fulfilled if not a little lonely. On paper, she should be a great character for women to relate to.
Instead, Frannie is the worst amalgamation of negative stereotypes about women ever created. She's a "cat lady," she is exhaustingly snide and b*tchy, she's ungrateful, and she nags. She spends the entire book pitying herself and verbally abusing her "love" interest, Jinx. She has few if any redeeming personality traits, and is written to be such a shrew that it's impossible to enjoy reading about her. Finishing a book has never felt like a chore before this, and the only reason I slogged through was because I paid almost $5 for this mess and I hoped there would be a turning point.
The reader is given no clue as to why a loving, successful, intelligent man would subject himself to the constant negativity and berating of a woman like Frannie. I don't give a damn about her supposedly mediocre looks, because what he loved about her was her personality. And she had none. She was the Kristen Stewart of romance books - she had one emotion, and it was combative. My happy ending would have been for Jinx to leave her ass and end up with someone who deserved him; someone who cherished his eccentricities.
Bottom line: this book is a big fat fail.
PS: A Plain Jane, middle class, suburban accountant would likely not use the followings words in every other sentence: "Gawd! Lawd! Dayum!" I have no idea why these grating colloquialism are used so constantly in this book, but they made me want to punch my Kindle.

I was in the mood for something that would make me laugh, and this book delivered that. But it also had tender moments that made the romance real, not to mention sweetly hot love scenes. I defy any reader to not fall in love with Jinx. And I don't want to give any spoilers, but there's a part where the heroine realizes she's been a complete jerk and makes it up to the hero in an outrageous way that he can appreciate. It's funny, yet has real emotion, because it is something that she would normally never do. But she does it to prove that she really does love him without knowing that he will accept it.

I really enjoyed the comedy in this book, and I really wanted to like the book, but I found by the end of it that I just couldn't stand Frannie. I get that she was hurt by her ex-husband, but she was so seriously mean to Jinx esp. with the whole wedding disaster that I couldn't like her or the book. My favorite parts were the cats Hocus and Pocus esp. Hocus getting drunk and Pocus being narcoleptic although I did like Jinx. He was a little crazy with his spouting I love you when they just met, but overall he was such a decent, nice, caring guy that I couldn't imagine him staying with Frannie... with her attitude and pessimism, she would kill his optimism and fun! She definitely didn't deserve him!
I wish there was a book about Steve and Tracey though. They seem like they'd be a funny couple! I so wondered when she took him home if they would end up together, and I knew when she was acting strange afterwards telling Frannie that she should go for Jinx, but then wouldn't spill her story!

When a seat mix up has a handsome flyer asking Frannie to move from her seat, her hackles come up and she quickly asserts her claim to the seat. He is not swayed though, for the handsome man has just met his soul mate and he doesn't plan to let her go. His biggest obstacle in claiming her though, is getting Frannie to let down her guard and trust him enough to accept is is more than willing to offer.
There were qualities in this book I liked, but I did not like Frannie. She was so mean to Jinx in the beginning, and I just couldn't understand how he tolerated it all. Even as she softened she still called him names I thought even in an endearment term, were off putting.

‘Jinxed’ is a contemporary romance novel from Inez Kelley.
Air-travel is stressful at the best of times, but Frannie Sullivan just had the flight from hell. As well as getting oh-so-flattering travel-hair, a crick in her neck and leg cramps, Frannie managed to pick up a stalker/nut-job at the airport. Tall, dark and wickedly handsome, Frances ‘Jinx’ Sullivan had a seat mix-up with Frannie, and from the moment he laid eyes on her decided he’d have her.
An advantageous luggage mix-up ensures the two meet up again and Jinx decides he definitely, absolutely, positively has to have Frannie for himself. A marriage proposal soon follows and Frannie is utterly creeped out (/mildly flattered).
Jinx suddenly infiltrates every aspect of Frannie’s life, and weasels his way into her heart. He’s everything she should want – handsome, loaded, caring and eager to commit. Frannie would be over the moon if it wasn’t for her horrendous first marriage that left her wary and scarred.
But Jinx has his own reasons for rushing his and Frannie’s romance, and he won’t be taking ‘no’ for an answer.
It’s hard to do justice to the storyline of ‘Jinxed’. When written down it does seem like Jinx is a crazy stalker and Frannie is succumbing to Stockholm syndrome. But that’s not it at all! Jinx and Frannie have an awkward/hilarious first meeting on the airplane, and again when there’s a luggage mix-up. Jinx quickly realizes that Frannie is the girl for him, but she’s reluctant to accept his instant infatuation. At first, readers will be like Frannie and quickly sceptical of Jinx’s attraction – after all, Jinx is smoldering and Frannie (according to her ex-husband) is a vanilla, mediocre plain-jane. Furthermore, ‘love at first sight’ is something only seen in Fairy Tales and Richard Curtis movies. But Kelley quickly surpasses the unbelievability of the romantic situation by including a number of crazy coincidences and connections between Frannie and Jinx. Plus, later on in the novel she sheds more light on Jinx’s reason for a hasty coupling with Frannnie . . . it’s still tinged with a syrupy sweetness, but there’s an undercurrent of sadness that makes it poignant and understandable (if still outlandish).
“Who in the hell do you think you are with that arrogant, high-handed, sexually dominant crap? You know what? Never mind. I don’t care. Just leave, now!”
Jinx leaned on the doorframe and chuckled, which sent her volcanic ire skyrocketing. “Damn, you’re feisty. I'm going to marry you, know that?”
“And I'm going to commit you. Now out of my house, fruit loop!”
The novel is told from both Jinx and Frannie’s point-of-view. Frannie’s is sometimes a hard slog. She’s got little to no self-esteem, thanks to a five-year marriage that left her ruined and shame-faced – she’s constantly in a state of flux between lusting for and being sceptical of Jinx and his affections. But I quite liked that Frannie was battling body insecurities, and that she didn’t feel that she was enough for Jinx. It meant that the romance was all about Jinx affirming his feelings for Frannie and showing her how much he loves her . . . it was so nice to read a man fight for his girl. To know he wants her, and do anything to get her. ‘Jinxed’ is literally a modern fairytale, but instead of slaying dragons Jinx is slaying Frannie’s inner demons.

She brings it again in ‘Jinxed’ – smouldering smut that is made all the sexier for the heady emotional complications between Frannie and Jinx. The sex is great because you know that by the time Jinx and Frannnie do get together, they have well and truly reached a point of connection and trust that makes the sex all the sweeter.
Inez Kelley is fast becoming a must-read author for me. She writes contemporary romances that are a winning combination of thoughtful, titillating and tender.

After copletely loving Sweet as Sin I was sorely disappointed by this book. Being an avid reader of romance novels, some fantastical elements are expected, but to believe that these two people who have the same name, birthday, address etc meet and to have us believe that they are meant for one another is ridiculous.
There is also the fact that the guy is a stalker. He essentailly breaks into her house because he fell in love with her at first sight, and waht does she do about it...nothing. She has dinner. WOuld her reaction have been different if this guy wasn't smoking hot? I expect if that was the case there would have been a restraining order involved
I expect some fantasy in my books, but this took it too far from any kind of reality.

I don't remember what made me think this was erotic romance... I mean the sex there is is nicely spicy and everything, but this is a very good contemporary romance with lovingly drawn main and side characters and a great sense of humour.
Of course it is also a book for the Cinderella in each woman, because the nice girl actually gets the prince of dreams. I could have done without adding 9/11 into background of the hero - a car accident would have been just as devastating, but oh well.
Why the heroine completely went bonkers about emotional commitment made perfect sense the more you found out about her previous life and I loved the way she went after what she wanted when she could nerve herself up for it.

3.5. So I have mixed feelings with this one. It was a good story, and I found it pretty funny sometimes, but I think it could have been better. The rift between Jinx and Frannie was just too over the top for me. I get the afraid of getting your heart broken, and feeling less than pretty thing, but Frannie was overboard with this. I also spent the first half of the book agreeing with her that Jinx was crazy. I think the love at first sight / fate thing could have been toned down a bit. Bt then, it would have been just like every other book out there, so I guess that was the uniqueness to this story. So that leaves me not really sure if I loved this story or just liked it ok.

JINXED by Inez Kelley features an irresistible hero by the name of "Jinx". He's tall, dark, delightful and delicious. He becomes hopelessly smitten when he meets a lovely and lonely CPA named Frannie. He just has to convince her that he's the man for her and that he's nothing like her verbally abusive ex-husband. Ms. Kelley has created a very enjoyable, funny and warm romance.

Since I liked her other book so much. I gave this one a shot.... I ended up skimming just to finish. The tampon and drunk cat scenes were hilarious so the book got an extra star just for those.

A recent discussion on Facebook led me to recommend this book to readers looking for humorous romance stories and after I did that I decided to re-read it for something like the 5th time, yes this is one of my go to books. One I read when I need to feel better, one I fall back on when I need a good laugh, and one that is an all time favorite. While Jixned is funny there is also a serious side to it and it’s a complete story. The characters are fully developed and we get to see the good and the bad in both of them. The story is one of sorrow, hope, acceptance, craziness, and love. And the dialog is some of the best I’ve read. Jinxed is one of those books I dare you not to fall in love with.
When Frannie and Jinx meet the sparks fly immediately but it’s hard to tell if they are sparks of lust or sparks of absolute frustration. I’ll admit that the first time I read this I wondered if Jinx wasn’t a few fries short of a Happy Meal. I mean he puts on the full court press from the beginning and while he comes across and overbearing, you can also see that he truly means everything he says. There’s something in the way he speaks that makes you understand this man has his reasons for behaving the way he does and it makes you sit up, take notice, and keep reading to find out what it is. Frannie, oh man Frannie is a piece of work. Her ex-husband did a real number on her and while she’s made a good life for herself her scars run really deep and she’s very cynical about men, relationships, love and marriage. Don’t get me wrong she has some really valid reasons and while I understand them there were a couple of times I wanted to bop her upside her head. Thankfully I didn’t have to because her friends and co-workers Steve and Tracey do it for me a few times over.
In this short space I can’t even begin to list the things I love about this book. I love that these characters are a little older and have real life experiences that have shaped and changed them. I love that there story is messy…honestly, it’s a lot messy but watching them navigate through it is amazingly real and beautiful. I love that the heroine is so flawed and has so many doubts. I love that the hero is understanding and has a beautiful spirit. I love that although the majority of this book takes place in 6 weeks time, it is packed full and you never feel cheated. I love the sensuality of their intimate moments and I flat out appreciate the humor that is laced throughout this book.
I want to say more but I don’t want to give too much away. I want you to run to Amazon or your favorite book seller and buy this book and when you’ve read it I want you to send me a message on Facebook, Twitter, or email me and tell me what you thought because I really want to know. And I dare you flat out dare you not to laugh until you’ve sprayed your e-reader with a drink or laughed so hard you cried. The Christmas tree discussion and the monthly cycle scenes I guarantee will take care of that and if those don’t do it the other hundred or so will. Jinxed is one of those feel good sexy romances that is not to be missed, yes it’s an older book but it’s worth looking at, worth reading, and worth spreading the word about!

In this short space I can’t even begin to list the things I love about this book. I love that these characters are a little older and have real life experiences that have shaped and changed them. I love that there story is messy…honestly, it’s a lot messy but watching them navigate through it is amazingly real and beautiful. I love that the heroine is so flawed and has so many doubts. I love that the hero is understanding and has a beautiful spirit. I love that although the majority of this book takes place in 6 weeks time, it is packed full and you never feel cheated. I love the sensuality of their intimate moments and I flat out appreciate the humor that is laced throughout this book.
I want to say more but I don’t want to give too much away. I want you to run to Amazon or your favorite book seller and buy this book and when you’ve read it I want you to send me a message on Facebook, Twitter, or email me and tell me what you thought because I really want to know. And I dare you flat out dare you not to laugh until you’ve sprayed your e-reader with a drink or laughed so hard you cried. The Christmas tree discussion and the monthly cycle scenes I guarantee will take care of that and if those don’t do it the other hundred or so will. Jinxed is one of those feel good sexy romances that is not to be missed, yes it’s an older book but it’s worth looking at, worth reading, and worth spreading the word about!

Oh My Gawd!! This is one of the best books I've read this year.
I l.o.v.e.d Jinxed. But I guess I'm ruined now for other books heroes. How can anyone top that?
Jinx is a crazy, crazy-funny, crazy-adorable, crazy-hot-sexy, crazy-romantic, crazy-sweet man. The best ever.
Frannie is a woman scarred from her past, always calling herself a Plain Jane, but not really knowing deep down her own power and value.
Love at first sight. Is that what Jinx claims he feels for Frannie.
CRAZY. Is what Frannie says he is.
With one single look, Jinx fall in love with Frannie, and doesn't bother to hide it. Better yet, he goes after what he wants, and he want Frannie.
Her rejection doesn't make him give up. So he tries harder, conquering Frannie heart and soul everyday.
Afraid of her and Jinx's feelings, Frannie dreads the day he'll "come to senses" and leave her.
But Jinx is persistent, and is in love with her. He'll do any and everything he can to make her believe him.
Which includes:
~Carrying her over his shoulder into restaurants,
~Buy her a whole aisle of tampons and more,
~Invade her home,
~Drunken her men-hating cat,
~Shopping with her,
~Harass her in her job,

Fate seems to be doing every thing it can to put these two together. Coincidences at every corner, I loved how Inez Kelley, made it believable. Normally is the opposite, with the man hiding, and denying his feelings, and the woman trying to get him to love her. But Jinx, well He's Jinx, you'll have to read to know. I laughed a lot with these two. They are crazy-GOOD, together even more, and I loved. That's totally 5 Stars for my new Favorite Author, Inez Kelley!

Every Woman Should Get Jinxed!!
Lately every novel I've read thus far, published by Samarian has been beyond my expectations. With this story it was utterly PERFECT.
It was hilarious (with scenes including an airplane flight, tampons, a restaurant, and her narcoleptic cat, those scenes I almost peed my pants), and many others. The emotional level was intensely high, (you actually needed a tissue box at close range) the tender, precious moments were memorable. And above all the love scenes were earth-shattering, ground-breaking, combustions. Forget about having someone on speed dial for a booty-call, as it is described in the back of the book. If you didn't have a good vibrator in hand, or a warm body next to you, you were literally screwed.
Normally it takes the male/hero to come to the revelation that the woman/heroine has possessed every aspect of his heart, mind, body, and soul; with this tale, the tables were reverse. It was refreshing to see a man gravel for the woman's attention, squirm his way into her lifestyle, and undoubtedly making her realize he was more a necessity than just a means to an end.
Jinx is definitely, without a doubt an alpha-male, yet the exuberant amount of admiration, devotion, and undeniable love, he is willing to give to Frannie was inspiring. Even when Frannie desperately tried to contradict every, single, thing, Jinx did, and still his love for her shined through. But despite all that, both he and Frannie made sure every second they spent together was ultimately their last, was essentially beautiful.
I extremely, and immensely enjoyed this story, I would highly recommend it to any HOPELESS ROMANTIC, like me. Well done Ms. Kelley, this absolutely DESERVES WELL BEYOND A 5 STAR RATING!!

I have a new favorite book!!! I laughed so much reading this book - I never knew what Jinx was going to say or do next. He knew from chapter one that Frannie was THE ONE and he was all about convincing her of that. And this boy had persistence! She was divorced from a jerk and was jaded so couldn't see what a PERFECT guy Jinx was - but the reader can DEFINITELY see it!! I want a Jinx!!! I don't want to give anything away - so I can't say what my favorite parts are - but if you read the book - just know that I love, love, love what he gives her/does the night of the dinner party!!! Was definitely one of my "awwww" moments. And I love what she does in the ugly blue dress! I love the taxi cab, the phone calls, the roof moment and the Christmas tree conversation. So many great moments that I won't even hint at. And the ultimate sign that I loved a book - I even liked her friends. I'm usually NOT a big fan of the supporting characters - but I loved Tracy and Steve also.
Out of curiosity, I checked to see why in the world anyone would give this book one or two stars.... I guess some people don't like Frannie and think she needs to get over her issues. Since I wasn't interviewing for a best friend, it didn't matter to me if Frannie was someone I wanted to hang out with all day and I didn't care what her issues were because frankly, if she and Jinx had both fallen head over heals in love after the first chapter and everything had been perfect, there wouldn't have been a book. There always has to be SOME kind of conflict in the book...

I love love love love love love love LOVED this book. I found it extremely entertaining. The relationships between all the characters were tight-knit & funny when they all got together. Jinx & Tracey were my favorites. They're the kind of people I would want to surround myself with. & Steve too. So I guess, Frannie is a pretty smart person.

Strictly a love story with enough smexy scenes thrown in to keep the attraction between the H/h from sliding into bubblegum and cotton candy sweetness.
Some laugh-out-loud moments:
Jinx's return trip from buying Frannie's tampons. This was an absolutely hysterical passage.
Frannie's pet names for Jinx which include such priceless endearments as "Fruitloop".
Frannie's "year in review"-touching and funny. This guy gets a 10 for creativity.
Frannie plays Cinderella-you'll know it when you get there.
There's lots of fun bantering, witty dialogue and enough snarkiness to keep even me happy, but all this is tempered with real emotions and past heartbreak that kept me hoping that these two characters would find their way through their respective histories to a much deserved happy ending.

5 Stars - I love this book and have read it many times. Jinx is so "grab the moment with all he's got" since he learned the hard way that love can slip through his fingers in the blink of an eye. There were humorous moments, sentimental moments, and hot moments. I like that Jinx knew she was the one at first sight and pursued her relentlessly (and didn't seem stalkerish). Although some readers hated how bad Frannie's self-image was, I understood why and didn't think it was too much. The only thing that was too much were the coincidences that they discovered in the beginning, I didn't think it was necessary to the story. All in all it was so sweet - especially the year in review - it gets me every time.

Kelley created characters that provoked a plethora of emotions and thoughts. The relationship between Jinx and Frannie dealt with realistic issues that I am sure most have experienced on some level or another. There are several lessons that stood out to me: 1. Do not believe lies 2. It is a deliberate choice to not allow past hurt and disappointment not over shadow the present 3. One bad interaction with a man does not set the tone of other men 4. Be careful of whom you invest your time and energy, and entrust your heart and emotions - each are a precious commodity - not every person is worth it and deserving 5. Whoever told you, you were ordinary and nothing...lied!

I wasn’t sure about this book when I purchased it, for some reason the name didn’t call to me, but boy, I was in for a surprise!. The book was fantastic! It is truth that people don’t fall in love in less than 1 hour, but this is a book, not real life. I enjoyed it very much and laughed so hard that had tears running down my face!
Once again, Kelly doesn’t disappoint with her writing! I have already promoted her to one of my auto purchase authors!

Not my favorite from Kelley, but she did it again. She took a story I was ready to throw against the wall because of the irrational female character (comparing to Turn it up's Charlie), and by the end made it all make sense. Frannie drove me crazy with her negative self-value issues. But in the end, she was forgiven. Jinx was just great. All a round Mr. Perfect. I'm give this one a 2.8 bumped to 3 since I had to force myself to deal with Frannie til she explained herself in the end.

He was a pushy but really sweet and she had very little self worth but a lot of strength. I don't know how Ms. Inez did it, but the dichotomies worked. I'm thinking it's because they were both funny, likeable characters and the connection was clearly there. Whatever the case, I truly enjoyed this read. 4/5 stars

3 1/2 stars. Jinx is an adorable kind of guy who would bend over backwards to make Frannie love him as much as he loves her. Unfortunately Frannie is a tough, more difficult kind of girl to please, and she does indeed make him bend over backwards to please her. Some funny and sexy moments.

a sweet little book..it feels an awful lot like one of those harlequin novels I used to read as a teenager..a bit more juicy though ;-)not really my cup of tea now days so to speak...even if I did like the juicy parts ;-)

so funny at first, I kind of grew a bit bored. Jinx is too much it is hardly believable and Frannie is so insecure and always downplaying herself she really annoyed me!! Also, everything was just too much. Too much feelings from Jinx from nothing, too much craziness.... just didn't feel right

Loved the hero in this book and the humor. Some sections were laugh out loud! Not crazy about the heroine. This is my third Inez Kelley book. I will now add her as an autobuy.
