This book wasn't bad, it just wasn't good either.
As a fantasy reader, I like to read things that make me think. I picked up Feeble Tyranny because the blurb seemed to promise this. What I found was a freshman-quality read with lots of dialogue and not much character development. I thought the characters were extremely underdone. The dialogue wasn't enough to carry it- there are books out there where that could happen, but it didn't in this book. I could hardly finish the book, I was so bored by the end, despite the potentially thought-provoking action going on in the story. And at one point, I believe the main character says something like "Oh, and I forgot to mention I'm a badass bitch, but I guess you already figured that out." Talk about cheesy.
That being said, I think this is Mr. Sumners' first book, so I can't blame him if it seems like a freshman effort. The characters did manage to hold my interest for the majority of the book. And I'm picky about my characters. I thought these in particular had potential. And I did finish the book; that's something I don't normally do if I'm not enjoying it.
