I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy, this last book in the set finished off the storyline beautifully. It was fast paced, full of excitement and action and I loved the combination of Prophecy's vampiric skills and magic as an extra, ( which was something a bit different to the usual vampire stuff I've read). The plot continued in relation to the overall storyline, but it also explored the romantic attraction between Prophecy and Venturi and Valentine, as she recognises her feelings for Venturi are becoming stronger, and that she does love him as well as Valentine in this love triangle that is evolving. A for her two loves, they are just gorgeous hunks and how lucky is she to have them both swooning over her and wanting to love and be with her! I have to give a mention to Prophecy's allie, the wonderful lord Hyperion who appears in Winter's Kiss ( which was the first Heaton book I discovered). He is a very old vampire who seems to be a born seduction king and proves to be a good friend to prophecy and her group. I would love to see Hyperion get his own book, I bet he would be every woman's dream lol!
I am really growing to love Felicity Heaton's writing, and considering I had never heard of her before starting these books, she has become a favourite author who I will definitely read again. I would thoroughly recommend this series to all paranormal, romance fans.
I really wish there have been more details about some characters like Elena, Caden, Ophelia and of course prophecy herself. Who killed her mother? Who took or found her when she was a baby? I really was sorry for Caden, he was the only person who could tell her more about her mother. He should have not died, there could have been a great friendship starting to interact more with humans, he could have helped. I liked the love triangle and poor Venturi LOL and Hyperion he really sounds very sexy and no more information about him, such pity LOL And again with this big fight against zombies, not one human saw anything? I liked the idea of this story. Sorry I don't think that this series is the right one for me. Sorry for the not so good review.
I have really enjoyed reading this set of 3 books. It was captivating, it was enthralling and thrilling and a thoroughly good read. The book has it all. Action, love, vampires, werewolves and witches. Felicity really has out done herself. Wilbur Smith could not write it any better. That is saying something ( as in my mind was the best author who ever lived ) I wish Felicity would write her books in sets of 3 or 4 for sale. The reason I say that is if you buy a book and it is say...the 3rd book in a series, the reader would be confused as each book follows on from the previous book, and would not understand the history of the characters and the story. Either that or a single book with a conclusion. My conclusion . ... Buy and enjoy. Recommended.
Excellent read. This series was slow to get into at first but it grabbed me halfway thru book 1 and didn’t let go until i turned the last page of book 3. This last book in the series was the best. The characters are fantastic, well developed, you can feel them, each trial, each heartache, each hit. Definitely recommend
**** SPOILER ALERT ***** This review will cover both Books 2 and 3 of the trilogy.
I gave Book 1 all five of my stars because I didn't want to put my book down. I promptly dove into the Book 2 and, well, I found the story line was beginning to drag and it wasn't a problem at all for me to set the story aside to do other things. Disappointingly, Book 3 was easy to permanently shelve because:
In Book 1 it was taboo to even entertain the idea of co-mingling pure blood lines and the Law Keepers were always looking over your shoulder to keep everyone in line. Prophecy and Valentine spent many chapters fighting their feelings at the risk of betraying their blood line's loyalty. By the time we get to Book 3, fraternization with the other blood lines isn't even on the radar.
Which brings me to Venturi. At the end of Book 1 Prophecy destroys the leader of the Tennebrae and Venturi is instantly promoted. Now herein lies another problem with the storyline: Venturi - as the new Lord of the Tennebrae - doesn't stick around to help his destroyed family heal from the destructive battle that Prophecy and Valentine in hindsight accidentally waged; he doesn't tend to any "passing of the scepter" housekeeping details. Nope! He suddenly has a crush on Prophecy & immediately traipses off with her on her quest to find Valentine and to destroy Elena who is out to rule the world. He doesn't give a single thought to the Law Keepers.
Prophecy. Oh, where to begin?! The men in her life keep telling her how strong she is. Well, she's got mad witchcraft skills when she can figure out how to use them, but emotionally she's entirely co-dependent. She seems to need to be around a man to hug, lick, bite and console at her leisure. She loves Valentine - but refuses to allow either of them to even say the words aloud to one another. She dangles Venturi along like a puppy and he's a gullible sap who will do anything and everything she asks.
Prophecy wears her star necklace her entire life but it doesn't occur to her that it might be the key to open her spell book. I figured that out in Book 2 but it took Prophecy way later into Book 3 before her attempted assassin / father poked her in the head with the knowledge. The whole "you're my father??" scene was eyeball rolling.
Claims - just what does it take to claim a fellow vampire so that you won't feel tempted to look to others because you're so consumed with your lover? Sex isn't enough and having magic threads turning colors or weaving between you and your lover doesn't make the claim, either. Claims were a big deal in Book 1 and by 60% of Book 3 it still wasn't defined.
And speaking of that big battle to save the world. It was the focus of the story line from the very beginning but the author just dragged on the inevitable to the point that I just didn't care. In Book 3 the author did the predictable: she had Elena cackling to her captured audience all her evil plans for world domination. *Yawn* Isn't that the recipe for every B-grade book and movie? By the time I flounced, the image of Elena in my head became Ursula from the Disney movie The Little Mermaid.
All told, the idea of the story is good but I think it should have been just two books instead of three. Venturi was a nice character but he was a time consuming distraction to the story who aided to Prophecy's co-dependency. The story just needed to move along to keep the action exciting.
To the author's credit, she wrote very sensual scenes between the characters. Vampire neck biting was pretty tingling to read and the eventual sex scenes were done quite well.
This is the third book in the Vampires Realm Series. I absolutely loved it!
Prophecy is a fantastic character. She is a very headstrong and determined young woman. Not only is she a vampire, she is a powerful witch, and now the head of the Caelestis vampire family. I really liked this character. She makes mistakes, and learns from them, but it's the relationship between the two men in her life and herself that complicates an already complicated situation!
Valentine is also a fantastic character. He is very charismatic and, although he can be a bit intense, he clearly loves Prophecy. He too is now the head of his Aurorea family. Trying to unite the two vampire families against a common foe is harder than he had anticipated. However, Venturi is getting on his last nerve!
Venturi is an interesting character. He is quite the charmer, but can be lethal when required. The Tenebrae have a reputation of being fierce warriors, and Venturi is most certainly a formidable one. I liked him very much, even though he has fallen in love with Prophecy too!
This story continues on from the end of the second book, and see's the trio trying to track down the rest of the prophecy that foretells what Prophecy's role would be - destroyer or savior - in a war against a formidable foe. This book is a roller coaster ride of action, adventure, danger and romance. I was quickly swept up in the tale and struggled to put the book down! The story is told from three points of view: Prophecy, Valentine and Venturi, which gives the reader the opportunity to see their thoughts and feelings. There are a few twists and turns in this tale that kept me guessing as to what would happen next. However, there is a battle scene that was so well described that I felt like I was actually there - it was EPIC! As I have said in my review of the previous book in the series, I am not fond of love triangles. However, the ending has a slight twist that made me snigger, and made me want to read the next book in the series, Spellbound, as soon as I can!
I am a huge fan of Felicity Heaton's books. I love her fast paced writing style, which flows beautifully, and the way her characters come to life on the page. Her attention to detail sparks my imagination, and that is why I love her work so much. I will keep reading her books for as long as she keeps writing them, and beyond. She is number one on my favourite authors list.
There are a few steamy scenes that, although not too explicit, are extremely hot! Therefore, I do not recommend this book for younger readers. However, I highly recommend this book if you love paranormal romances with an excellent story, combined with sexy vampires, werewolves and witches. - Lynn Worton
Prophecy Chosen Daughter of Caelestis, doesn't remember who she is and when she gets tired of being imprisoned she decides to go out and kill and feed for the first time. She is so overwhelmed by the ecstasy that killing gives her that she doesn't realize that she is being watch by one of her family's enemy. Valentine one of the most valuable hunters of Aurorea, see this beautiful Vampire taking pleasure on eating like he has never seen before, when he realizes that she is a Caelestis he goes to confront her, but she is speechless so he takes her blood to revive the memories but what he sees leaves him blank, and afraid. She is the Prophecy that everybody has talked about, the doom of their kind and the world. Somehow he is incapable of killing her and he has this urged, this necessity to protect her, against Aureora and Caelestis houses, who have ally to kill her.
This trilogy is one of the best ones I have read in a long time. It has everything love, friendship, betrayal, passion, a background story, sex but not basic sex that you don't know where it comes from? it has its meaning, at some point your heart breaks a little while you read. Its an awesome story Read It, but buy the 3 books before you start because your are not going to stop once you finish chapter 2.
OMG. What a brilliant last book in this trilogy concerning Prophecy's quest to save the world from a powerful and evil force threatening to unleash hell on earth. This book had everything in it - an absolutely beautiful love story between Prophecy and Valentine that had me in tears when things seemed so hopeless; unrequited love and desire from Venturi; the sexy confidence and power of Hyperion, the friendship with Mia, Dmitri, Serenity, Cornelius and so many others who are prepared to sacrifice their lives to fight beside Prophecy, and of course the arch-villain Elena, a powerful necromancer witch who tries to destroy everything Prophecy loves. The story is fast paced but beautifully written, the sex scenes between Prophecy and Valentine are tender yet intense - these are two fictional characters that will forever be in my heart. There is lots of magic, action and raw emotion that kept me reading well into the early hours of the morning - a real roller-coaster ride of emotions right to the nail biting finale. A solid 5 ***** read.
Third book and last of the Prophecy/Valentine trilogy. After this the series moves to another couple.
This book starts with Prophecy and Valentine fighting off demons as they check out Elena’s abandoned house for clues. The three bloodlines are still having problems working together.
Prophecy gets some surprising information, Valentine’s mental strength and love for Prophecy is tested and Venturi is still a jerk.
Quick Thoughts: 1) The panic scene and Prophecy using the phone booth in Florence reminds me of the bird attack in Hitchcock’s movie “The Birds’.
2) I like how Prophecy plays the same trick on Elena in kidnapping Valentine.
Fave Scenes: 1) Prophecy closing the portal, Prophecy & Valentine dancing at the ball, Hyperion’s arrival and Venturi’s worry about his castle.
Excellent series! Vampires, werewolves, and witches; tasteful written sex scenes, true love and a love triangle; and action, action and more action ... WOW! After reading this amazing series - and liking it SO MUCH that I will have to include it in my favorites shelf - I wonder why I didn't hear of it much sooner. The story line contains all the elements of any good paranormal romance book, so hear me out here, I totally recommend this series to you guys, you will love it, you just have to read them. I'm looking forward to read more books from this talented author!
Oh WOW! Even better than the first two books! Valentine is a great vampire, and I totally love Prophecy :) The fight scenes were fantastic, I was out of breath at the end ;) I am so glad there are more Vampires Realm books I can read - they are awesome. The storylines is great, the characters and their development are wonderful, and the details always suck me in from the very first lines of the books.
Gosh, I had to fight to read it to the end... Again Prophecy just annoys me. Figured out that the key to the spell book is her necklace in book 2 shortly after she stole it. Prophecy only thought about it in book 3. Hello?! Sometimes the story jumps from one place to another and I'm wondering if I missed some pages... Also still trying to figure out how you can sensually bite each other's neck at the same moment. Try it, I'm sure it makes you laugh as hard as us.
I didn't expect to be so completely enthralled with this series. The ups and downs, twists and turns and the beautiful love story behind it all. I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! I couldn't put it down My emotions were all over the place. I was on the edge of my seat at times. What an amazing book. I highly recommend it!!!
Just finished reading... and i would have to say cant wait to see what happenes next in Spell bound... I dont know what it is but I truley hope things get deep with Venturi, I guess I'm a sucker for the under dog... but these books so far have kept inthralled...
Loved this series! Was the first series I read by Felicity Heaton and it didn't disappoint, the only bad thing was that it had to end as I could've read another 3 books about this sexy and intriguing couple (or trio!)
The perfect book to end the perfect trilogy! I loved the plot, the characters, and the shocking discovery at the end. The series kept me captivated and I definitely recommend you read all 3 Prophecy books.
Felicity Heaton/Anastasia Dawson is an amazing author. I have read more than 50 of her books and have loved them all. Her books include, Vampires, Succubus, witches, angels, shape-shifters, human hunters, dragons, demons, clones, and much more. I hope you enjoy her stories as much as I do.
I can only say that the powerful ending has left me with wanting and needing more. I patiently await Venturi's tale and I curiously wonder of Hyperion's. Will Prophecy be inundated with more trials? Where do the other two handsome and sexy Lords fit?
Loved how it ended but i do feel after how drawn out the other books were, the ending was slightly rushed. Still it was good and i have continued reading the series.
