Sage Parker has nailed it once again, this time with a jewelry thief turned bookstore owner?! Yes, please!
One of my favorite things about Sage's books is that she always has them situated in a beach town. Rachel may have started off in sunny Los Angeles, but she made it back home to Rockport, Massachusetts where she rents a teeny apartment that has the best view of the beach from the tiny bedroom's big window. Imagine waking up every morning to seeing the water lazily flow to and fro, the gorgeous skyline for miles and miles...
Rachel's on the run, but it's hard to tell who she is more scared of - her mother, who keeps messaging her and won't leave her alone, or law enforcement. But she also runs into a man, Hunter, she used to have a crush on when she was a teen, and then her childhood best friend, Alice, who has the family that Rachel has always longed for, and wonders if sticking around for good would be a bad thing...
I can't wait to see how this serial plays out. Parker's books are perfect for my ADHD and I love snuggling up in bed with my cat & kindle while meeting my goal of reading for at least 20 minutes a day.
I did notice some errors that could easily be remedied by another quick round of editing, but did not detract from the book whatsoever.
