Rate this book
Lottie’s just been dumped, or at least she thinks she has.

With a university reunion looming she has nothing to show for the past ten years except a part-time job in her friend’s plant shop and a jar of picked gherkins. To console herself Lottie seeks solace in her favourite corner of the internet, a mysterious level-up life guru who preaches words of wisdom from the comfort of stunning exotic locations, and it’s definitely cheaper than spending money on tarot readings.

With her big dick energy ex off travelling the world in search of the perfect veneers, Lottie finds herself sleeping in her brother’s spare room until his chirpy Irish best friend shows up and she’s forced to move out.

A tarot card reading steers her in the direction of an absurd panic purchase to impress her university peers.

Will Lottie learn to listen to herself instead of seeking validation from elsewhere? Or will she continue to plod along in a grumpy self-sabotaging haze forever? Will she learn to get along with her brother’s best friend even though he’s pinched her bed?

Let the spiral of events commence.

You Grow Girl - out now!

Belle Henderson is a lover of books, big hair and training her beagle not to eat all her furniture and possessions. She lives in sunny Swindon, UK with her family and said naughty beagle.

Belle co-wrote her first romantic comedy in 2019 whilst on maternity leave. In 2020 she was made redundant and in-between parenting and tearing her hair out, she has created another five stand-alone chick lit books, all set in the fictional seaside location of Coolsbay, based in the South-West of England.

People’s idiosyncrasies fascinate and occasionally amuse Belle. She loves to home in on these quirks which subsequently help to breathe life into her characters.

Belle’s books are quirky, romantic, laugh out loud and always a little toe-curling.

Come swoon (and cringe laugh) with Belle.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is my first read from the author and I really loved it. I read it in one day! It was funny, sweet and relatable. Set in a small town, with various different characters, all incredibly realistic.

You Grow Girl was very well written, thought out and all around great romcom. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to read the book ahead of time. You Grow Girl will be available on Amazon February 24th, and included in Kindle Unlimited.

I received the ARC copy of this book.

It was my first read from this author and I will definitely go on to read more of her books.

It was a nice light-hearted, funny read. All the characters are very relatable and it was nice to read about a main character that realised what she wanted and set out to achieve it for herself.

Whilst she didnt need the guy to save the day for her, the moments between Lottie and Liam were very enjoyable to read.

Would recommend this romcom to others

I was kindly gifted an ARC of this book and from the synopsis was eager to start reading it.

What can I say. A fun, light hearted and thoroughly enjoyable read. Lottie, our protagonist in the book, is so kind, loving, funny and extremely relatable to many women. She has her own mind and isn't led by others. There is a male interest but he is not your usual Knight in shining armour come to rescue the damsel in distress which I also loved.

It was a quick read and a book that would certainly get anyone out of a reading slump. Thanks Belle Henderson for sending me the ARC and I can't wait to read more of your books.

This was heartwarming funny and completely unputdownable. Besides the added humour, this is real, and Belle Henderson captures those true life scenarios.

Like Not The Plus One, the characters are relatable and lovable. I was eagerly cheering Lottie on from the sidelines. I really enjoyed watching her life transformation and heck, let's give it to the green things.. I think between the gherkins and the plants they spurred her on, lol!!

Let's be honest we've all been there obsessing daily or weekly over what our horoscope is telling us. It was no different for Lottie with the life guru and tarot reading.

Such a moving and hilarious feel it all story I definitely recommend!!!

I loved this book; it’s a big-hearted, laugh out loud rollercoaster of a read. Alone and homeless after her partner of ten years decides to go off and find himself, Lottie embarks on her new life whilst working part-time in her friend's plant shop. Taking inspiration from a mysterious lifestyle guru, and trying not to spend all of her money on tarot readings, Lottie is trying her best to improve herself. Effortlessly funny (even the nicknames are hilarious and very apt), big hearted Lottie is so real and loveable that I was cheering her on with every page I turned as well as laughing at her antics. Totally recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed this delightfully funny and touching book, a well-deserved 5 stars!

When Lottie’s boyfriend of 10 years decides to go on a round the world trip - without her - she finds herself homeless. Luckily her bro is on hand to offer her a room. Until his mate, the disarmingly good-looking and extremely annoying, Irishman Liam (Lottie’s childhood nemesis) moves in and she has to sleep on the couch.

Liam seems different though, nicer and dare she think it “HOT”. But when her old boyfriend returns from overseas Lottie is confused - does she want him back? Or this new and improved Liam who’s still determined to p*ss her off.

Supported by a cast of Belle’s signature wacky characters; an Instagram life guru, a chatty baker with tempting pastries, a comedy escort, the mysterious Shmoo and more, You Grow Girl has all the feels and plenty of laugh out loud moments. I don’t want to give anything away but one scene in particular involving tomato sauce had me chortling. Lottie definitely had the upper hand in that one!

If you want a feel-good, lighthearted read then I totally recommend this. You’ll enjoy cheering for Lottie and giggling at all her madcap antics as she picks herself up and puts herself out there to win at life and love.

I received an arc copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

YES YES YES👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

First book by this author and it was truly fantastic. This was just the perfect friends x lovers, clean uplifting romance 🥰.

We follow Lottie whose life is a disaster, no home, no boyfriend and no job. She was smart, funny and her own heroine. It didn’t feature a knight in shining up, because our girl can do it on her own👏🏾👏🏾

Of course there was a love interest….. I loved Liam, he was absolutely brilliant. Funny sexy and just downright awesome👌😘

Lottie and Liams relationship was just great, the teasing, name calling was on point. I mean Grotty and hamster not ideal names for a 31 year old let me tell you😂.

That bath scene… I mean come on😩😍.

I could not fault anything in this book. It was faced-paced, read in one sitting kinda vibe. I was laughing, smiling and giggling throughout this book.

I recommend that you pick this book up when it releases on the 24th February 2023. Let me know what you think in the comments.

5 stars ♥♥♥♥♥
You Grow Girl is a warm hug on a cold day. It’s bright, it’s breezy, it fills you with laughter.

Lottie is her own woman, saddened when she’s dumped by her long time boyfriend but determined to make her own way in the world, whatever that is. She doesn’t need a man to save her! She’s doing it on her own.

There’s so much warmth, humour and yes, love – after all this is a romcom - in this book. I thoroughly recommend this hilarious read.

I was lucky enough to grab a paperback which was published before the ebook came out on 24 Feb.

Fucculently Funny
You Grow Girl is a clean romantic comedy with plant puns aplenty and an Irish male lead with great forearms.
Lottie’s life is a complete disaster and I loved every second of it. Reeling from a break-up with the sort of toxic ex we’ve all dated at one point, Lottie swiftly loses her job and the bed she was planning on sleeping in at her brother’s house. Thus begins her frankly terrible plan to get her ex back and restore her old life where nothing turns out as expected.
Hilariously cringeworthy and laugh-out-loud funny.
Set in an English seaside town, Belle paints an authentic picture of British high streets, Uni days and driving on the M6.
Perfect for fans of Janet Evanovich, National Lampoon and anything else remotely hysterically uncomfortable.
Sweet, romantic, an absolute spiral of chaos that had me clenching my butt cheeks together for this poor girl.

First and foremost, thank you @bellehend for this ARC in exchange for a review!

This book is a great little quick read! I loved reading about the journey that Lottie experienced to find herself after losing everything.

I also kind of liked the inserted texts that Ravi/Nyssa would post, I felt like I was reading out of a self help book at times, so whenever Lottie would read it, it was like we were doing it together.

A humorous & relatable read! Lottie’s struggles and mental state following a 10 year relationship break up are something I’m sure most people can relate to. How Belle writes the story of Lottie navigating these issues from rock bottom to a complete life transformation is inspiring to most people who have been through or are going through a tough time but also with a sense of humour and funny circumstances thrown in too. Finished the book in 3 days very easy to get sucked in to!

‘You Grow Girl’ tells Lottie and Liam’s story entertainingly and has the brilliant writing style I have become to expect from this author. Exciting, relatable and with a decent fast paced narrative, it hooked me within the first few chapters.

Lottie captivated and enthralled me. She is a fictional character that I wish I could be friends with. Her sense of humour, courage and pluckiness is amazingly inspiring, and I recommend this read, without hesitation. The wonderfully illustrated cover will look gorgeous on any bookshelf.
I LOVE Belle Henderson reads. Her irresistible writing style is mood boosting, and uplifting, and ‘You Grow Girl’ has now become my favourite read written by this author’s. I would also deem it as my favourite read of 2023 so far. (On both counts!)

If you are a Rom-Com fan, you will love this new release. I predict this will be an enormous success and would make an ideal read in the forthcoming warmer months. If you are going on holiday soon, this is certainly one for the hand luggage!

Thank you, Belle Henderson, for a gifted copy of this read.

Chapter 2

Just because I’ve been shat on from a huge height doesn’t mean I should do the same to others. Think nice thoughts, do nice things, be a good person. That is my new mantra. I’m not the grumpy person that Brandon’s dad thinks I am.

Lottie has been with her partner for ten years when one day out of the blue he announces he's off to see the world, apparently it's what he needs to do. You think this is bad, this is just the beginning...

This is the second book of Henderson's I've read and I absolutely loved it.

Lottie was such a relatable, realistic character, pickled gherkins aside...yuk! Her 'supporting cast' were pretty awesome too and made the book so entertaining and enjoyable.

You Grow Girl is heartwarming, hilarious and I'm not ashamed to say I found myself sniggering out loud at Lottie's amusing antics and we should all live by her mantra...

You Grow Girl was a great read. Just what I needed - an easy, fun romance that I couldn't put down and devoured in just over a day!

This was my first read by Belle Henderson, and it definitely won't be my last!

In You Grow Girl, you've got brother's best friend, enemies to lovers, fake dating.. what's not to love!?
Lottie is a great character, so relatable, and I really felt for her. Losing her home, boyfriend, and job pretty much all at the same time. But she took it in her stride and definitely becomes stronger and grows as a character.
She had a great set of people around her, a brilliant friendship with Willow, and an amazing connection with Liam!
I just wish I could read more of them together 😍

Thank you so much to Belle for letting me read and review, ahead of the release of You Grow Girl on 24th February!💕🌿

This is the third book I have read by Belle, and she does not disappoint. You Grow Girl is a rom com with character growth and a great sense of humour. I loved Lottie, and I enjoyed reading how she turned her life around from her rather sh*tty situation at the start!

Thoughts on:

Liam: Mmm 😋

The revelation about Nyssa's identity: 😱

Brandon: 🤬

This is such a fun easy-read, I cannot recommend it enough! I read it in two days and could easily have read it in one if I'd slacked off a few more chores!

I would firstly just like to say a big thank you to the author, who very kindly forwarded me an arc copy of her book, for my kindle, in return for my honest review.

I didn’t know anything about this book before i read it and i really enjoyed getting absorbed in the story without knowing what was going to happen.

The storyline was wonderful with lots of things going on and linking all the characters stories together.

It was very well written and very easy to read and i actually read three quarters of it all in one go! After each chapter i just had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next - I couldn’t get enough of it!!

There was a large cast of characters and i absolutely loved each and every one of them. All their stories were interesting and i loved getting involved in their lives.
Lottie was a wonderful main character and i loved her. She was strong and confident and knew what she wanted and how to get it too.

You Grow Girl was very funny throughout and i found myself snorting with laughter in quite a few places.

Overall this was a wonderful, funny rom-com and i absolutely loved it - oh and the ending was perfect…….

Another really great read from Belle. I've yet to be let down by her books. I couldn't help but love Lottie, she was very relatable (and I appreciated her love of picked gherkins). After losing her job, being unfairly dumped and thrown out of her house, she is moved from her comfort zone, shes pretty much forced to reevaluate her life. Lottie shows such strength and resilience and she really does grow as a character, realising the mistakes she has made in the past and become a better version of herself. There are strong supporting characters and I especially liked her relationship with Willow. You Grow Girl contains some real laugh out loud moments too. The sauce one springs to mind. Her banter with Liam was brilliant. They had such chemistry and speaking of Liam....what a man. He was so lovely and sweet. I loved him. Overall, You Grow Girl is a fucculent great read and we should all be more Lottie.

I received this arc from the author. All thoughts are my own.

Thanks to Belle Anderson for choosing me to read an advanced copy of her book in exchange for my honest review.

Lottie is lost in love, her career and her life. I loved Lottie, the girl next door who I could see myself being friends with. As we watch her grow it’s so heartwarming as she flourishes and finds her feet in life.

I loved how relatable Lottie’s story was and it was inspiring how strong minded, strong willed, brave and funny Lottie’s character is.

It screamed rom-com vibes, which hits you from the first page. A perfect good feel, chick lit and I highly recommend you pick this one up. It will definitely make you laugh, shout a little and smile a lot.

Thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a British romcom

You Grow Girl by Belle Henderson

Actual rating 4.5 stars

I loved this book and devoured it in one evening. It was really easy to get into and immediately had me chuckling along. The humour is very British which I thoroughly enjoyed!

The plot was fun and I loved watching Lottie grow and rebuild her life after her long-term relationship ended. Liam seemed a great match for her, and I loved the snippets of his personality that we saw. The supporting characters were all wonderful, each with their own quirks and humour.

The only reason I’ve knocked half a star off is because I just wanted a little bit more depth from their relationship. We were told about their past growing up but we weren’t really shown them reconnecting.

Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a British romcom!

Fabulous, funny and heart-warming
This is my favourite Belle Henderson book so far – and I’ve loved them all so that will tell you how good it is. It’s a very well-constructed story where all of the threads weave together very cleverly to give a completely satisfying ending. Our heroine Lottie is loveable and real and just the sort of friend everyone should have, she’s not perfect but she’s trying her best to be a good person and do the right thing. There are so many laugh out loud moments in this book, ‘big dick energy’ never failed to make me laugh and the panic purchase (I don’t want to spoil the surprise) was absolutely hilarious and I could picture it vividly. Ditto, the Turkey Teeth; I can visualise them even now. There are so many great things about this book and I can’t mention them all so do yourself a favour and go and pre-order it now because I absolutely recommend it.
