Eli is an orphan omega who has always taken care of himself. He’s completely shunned the use of his thunder dragon form to learn the human healing arts and has never once wanted an alpha—but when an accident puts him into the protective “dad arms” of Theo, a fire drake many years his senior, a lifetime of repressed desires comes crackling to the surface.
After losing his mate twenty years ago, Theo’s dragon flame has steadily gone cold. He never thought he’d fall for another omega—especially one more than half his age—but the healer pretending to be a human won’t leave his mind. Can Theo guide Eli through the pleasures of embracing his dragon self? Or will they lose each other to the wounds they can’t forget?
Lost With Lightning is the eighth book in the Dragon Firefighters mpreg series. It expands on the characters and story introduced in the previous books, and while it can be enjoyed as a standalone it’s recommended you read the preceding books first. This book features: A May-December romance, a single dad, doctor and patient, a slow burn (to high heat!), accidental electric shocks (to naughty places), sweet and nurturing characters, friendship and found family, romantic walks on the beach, medium angst (healing past traumas), dragon eggs, a cathartic tear-filled ending, and as always, a happily ever after!
Fun characters, page turning action, unique settings and of course, steamy, heart-pounding gay romance are all staples in an Ashe Moon Mpreg novel. All of Ashe's books are standalone but take place within shared universes (Shifter and Non-Shifter respectively), building upon each other to create an exciting journey for you!
All books contain lots of heat! Mature readers only!

Eli is a thunder dragon who has never shifted. He was raised an orphan by humans. A friend asks him to come help with a dragon egg. Theo is a dragon who doesn't shift anymore. He comes to fix the fire station. They need each other.
This is Theo and Eli's story. Theo is Haru's dad, and a widower, his first omega died twenty years ago when Haru was just a boy. Since then his body had deteriorated to the point where he can no longer shift into his fire dragon form. Eli is a young thunder dragon, who refuses to accept his dragon nature, and has never shifted. Eli is a physician who studies human medicine and is called upon by Shen because Raka's egg has not hatched in months. Theo is recruted by the Old Shore Port fireflight to repair their station, and has never left Brandy Oak, since his husband died. In Old Shore Port is where Eli meets Theo, and there is definitely an attraction. Eli is determined to both heal Theo and get Raka's egg to hatch. Can everyone let go of their pasts for a better future. According to the author this is the end of the first season of her fireflight dragon series. She plans two more I think. I really liked these novels, skipping the explicit sex of course, but the stories are great. Short and sweet. The one thing I hate about series romance is that you don't follow characters strongly past one book. Each book focuses on another couple falling in love. But for me, I'd love just to see the family grow, and see how each of the couples are doing. There is a little of this in these novels, not nearly enough for me, but still usually it's a one and done for each set of characters, and I always am wanting more. So that was a nice change.
2.5 stars Story began as cute and sweet, but that's all I liked about this book. I calculated characters' ages and it was constantly in the back of my mind that there is 20ish age gap. how I know it? Haru (Theo's son) was 12 when he fell in love with Aerin + 16 years timeskip + couple of years passed since Haru's book (let's say 2) = Haru is 30ish. Eli (omega mc from this book) said to be around Haru's age. so also 30ish. Let's say Theo jumped in fatherhood as soon as he became adult. 18 + 30ish = he is at very least 48+ they are adults so I guess it's fine, but with the way Theo was written like he will fall apart any minute and has constant pain and so on, if felt like he was 60+. and nobody had in issue that his son and his new husband is the same age? well, this particular age gap wasn't for me. and why the hell there is mpreg written on bookcover when they are actively working against mpreg????! they use contraception and it works. I'm tired of seeing word "mpreg" in this series and then seeing no pregnancy or eggs. I started this series to enjoy cute round omegas bossing their alphas. where it is? where? at least other books had plot. this one is centered around main couple, but they aren't interesting enough to be sole focus. disappointed in this book.
I really enjoyed reading this wonderful, heartwarming Mpreg Shifter romance and it can easily be read as a standalone even though it is the eight book in the “Dragon Firefighters” series. The plot is well-paced & has good world building with splendid scene descriptions of some very interesting situations. I found the characters (a alpha male firefighting dragon shifter, Theo with some sad memories of a heartbreaking loss) & (a omega male dragon shifter, Eli who trained to be a human doctor) very likable & endearing with realistic emotional feelings & expectations. The secondary characters offer good support throughout the storyline. There is: various kinds of dragon shifters, fated mates, mild twists, drama, humour, memories, friendship, discovery, complication, longings, decisions, surprises, steamy scenes, love, happiness, contentment & a well-deserved happy conclusion. I would definitely recommend this book (& the series) to people who enjoy reading this genre.
First step of stepping out of comfort zones are the hardest. Eli is independent as a result of his environment and circumstances. He basically livedsas a human, without his dragon. He didn't expect to need or want an Alpha, until his nature took over. Theo, lost his mate 20 years before he met Eli. He thought he would be alone his remaining days. When they met, feelings were unexpected. Theo was older than Eli, and thought the age difference mattered. Eli was not in touch with his dragon, and he thought that would matter to Theo. This story gently watches Eli and Theo stepping outside boxes they thought they would be in forever. Nice story, I would have liked more depth in the characters and the ending leaped out of my comfort zone. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Theo is an alpha dragon that has been alone a long time and his son has moved to start his life with his partner. Theo's spark is not there anymore. He does not shift. Eli is an omega thunder dragon that hides his dragon as much as he can. He has never shifted and he sees no need to encourage that part of himself. Until he meets Theo when he is called on to use his medical prowess to help figure out why an egg has not hatched. These two are good for each other. Being with one another breathes life into Theo again and encourages Eli to be himself. They mutually heal one another and in one another are encouraged to embrace life with a partner and love. Eli goes to treat an egg that is not hatching meets the older Theo. Omega Thunder Dragon Eli was abandoned as a baby and feeling it was because he was a dragon he has refused to change into his dragon. He instead trained in human medicine and became a doctor. He is asked to come and examine an egg that is not hatching and see if there is a way to get it to. At the fire station he encounters Theo. Alpha Fire Dragon Theo lost his mate many years ago and his son Haru has left to make his way in life. He is going to rebuild and make safe the fire station in Old Shore Port.

Everyone deserves a second chance at love... oh, and a first chance, too.
OMG what a fantastic book! I love this series. My old friends welcomed me back with open arms. This story is so vivid and alive, sexy and sweet, it kept me reading well past my bedtime. I love age-gap, first love, and second chance love. I quickly became fully invested in the new characters, Theo and Eli. Come. Share their joy. You will simply adore this book!
It's so beautiful to see Theo get his happily ever after after the loss of his mate and watching him relearning that life has more for him than growing old and dying! It's painful and relatable and inspiring to see imperfect characters reacting to pain in such human ways and then learning, healing and growing into better versions of themselves.
Loved this age-gap story of young thunder dragon, Eli, an omega orphan and healer, and older alpha fire dragon, Theo, who meet by happenstance in a city unknown to both. They were brought there independently by friends in need. Just so happens, Theo is in need of a healer... and, in turn, Theo 'heals' part of Eli he didn't realize needed healing. Wonderful, no-angst read.

. . . É uma leitura F(. . .), desculpe pela palavra, eu amei 🖤. . . Amei! Idade! . . Boa Leitura 😘
DRAGON FIREFIGHTERS Book #8 is the gift that keeps on giving. ASHE MOON has created such a powerful narrative. This is Theo and Eli and this is just inspirational. Finding your first love is emotional, finding love the second time is a miracle. Theo finds out as a healer Eli is willing to do anything. Set backs are just another bump in the road. This is beautiful story. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AMAZING DRAGON FIREFIGHTERS SERIES!!!!!!!!!!
2.5 Cute story but not my favorite in the series. This is like a light afternoon read that has just enough to keep you interested while never really preaching the surface of depth. There's a little bit of angst and tiny smidge of heat and a little bit of a second chance at life Awakening for an older male hero which I loved. I just really wish that we could have gotten into a little bit more of the emotionality of Theos story.
I swear I’m not going to cry, nope. Not one tear (says as a tear falls down her cheek). What a lovely story. Theo deserves all the love and new experiences and being with Eli is just one of them. Theo has been through so much pain and grief but with Eli he gets another chance at life, with love and flying and so doesn’t Eli. This is another wonderful and beautiful story in the Dragon Firefighters World. Total 5 stars ⭐️…100 if I could give them. 💜
I don't usually read age gap romances but this one hit me right in the heart. Theo and Eli were just what the other needed. Eli breathed new life in the fire dragon and Theo showed him the power of acceptance, forgiveness and moving forward. Once they embraced their pasts and each other their story was pure magic!
I voluntarily read an ARC for this book. It had a different tone from all of the other books in the series, however this was a welcome edition. It is a story of second chances and having the courage to believe in yourself and who you are. Theo and Eli really do soar. Can't wait to see where Ashe takes everyone next.

This storyline was all about the relationship for Theo and Eli and while interesting it had none of the drama found in the rest of the series. The book ends on a positive note, and thus also the series.
Love this book as I love all the books in this series!! very well written love all the characters in the series but the two characters in this book are special & the story was developed extremely well - thank you
This is another amazing addition to this series. I absolutely love Theo and Eli! These are exactly what each other needs. I just love see these two relationships develops and this is such an amazing second chance at love.
Eli and Theo's story wasn't as angsty as the others but it was still packed with all the feels. They were wonderful characters, I enjoyed watching them come together.
The first book not about fires but a May/December true love. For both of them it is love at first sight. Eli knows there is something about this Alpha Dragon that gives him a warm feeling, where others do not. He doesn't think of Theo as being older, only attractive and the one for him!
Theo is dad to an adult son and lost his omega over 20 yrs ago. He has put himself on the old shelf. Eli is an orphan dragon living as a human doctor. They come together to heal each other and learn about themselves.
When I first started this series, I fully expected not to like it at all. Here I am, close to the end, crying at the wholesome ending to this book. How cute are these MCs?!? Omg I can't believe I blew through this series so fast lol. These two were so presh.
Yaaay, we got Theo's story. I loved him since he was introduced in Haru's book. I wished for him to find his own love too, to be healed and fly, and love again. And I got it🩷🩷🩷 yohooo. I love the book so much. Definitely one of my favorites in the series
This book about Haru's dad was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and pleased to read how the land has developed around the characters as well.
My second read in this series, and just as wonderful as the last. Low-angst and adorable. Lots of references to earlier couples in the series which usually turns me off but I could handle it here.
