With over a million words in print, PATRICK THOMAS keeps busy writing the the popular fantasy humor series Murphy's Lore (which includes 8 books- Tales From Bulfinche's Pub, Fools' Day, Through The Drinking Glass, Shadow Of The Wolf, Redemption Road, Bartender Of The Gods, Nightcaps and Empty Graves) as well as the After Hours spin offs Fairy With A Gun, Dead To Rites and Lore & Dysorder. His Mystic Investigators series has grown to include the books Bullets & Brimstone and From The Shadows both with John L. French and Once More Upon A Time and the upcoming Partners In Crime both with Diane Raetz. He has co-edited two anthologies - Hear Them Roar and the vampire themed New Blood. I bought this book at I-CON a few years ago and the author actually signed it for me. It's a group of short stories told by Murphy the Bartender at Bullfinches Pub. The stories are funny but also dark and sad. Bullfinches Pub is owned by Paddy, a lepruachan who spent his pot of gold on the bar, so now rainbows lead to the bar. This is where gods, demi gods and other mythical beings congregate to drink, work and have fun. There are some normal humans around as well. It's interesting to see the interplay of all the different beings and creatures. It's great to see creatures of different mythologies and religions work together towards common goals and nice to believe that some actions are unacceptable to everyone. Very entertaining, I want to read more.

Hilariously well written series for the mythologically inclined. Murphy is a regular Joe bar tending at Bullfinch's Pub. This pub is a central hub of activity and sanctuary for those who hail from the supernatural realms. Murphy often finds himself helping the Gods and supernaturals get their affairs in order whether Murphy is up for it or not. Wickedly funny and well researched. Highly recommend it!

Very fun stories! If you're a mythology/folklore fan you'll probably enjoy these well-written tales of recognizable deities and heroes existing in a modern city.
