A compendium of incredible and bizarre facts, stories, interviews and features, presented in a stunning new design, this book also offers access to Ripley's fully integrated Web site featuring astounding video clips.
Ripley's Believe It or Not! Enter If You Dare is a bold flash of a book. The layout has all the color and pop of any video game these days. And those tweens, teens and ya's are going to love this giant size book. There is even a bit on the 22 inch tall man, Khagendra Thapa Magar from Nepal. You may have seen him on the Amazing Race. Of course he may meet Jyoti Amge from India who is 23.5 inches tall. Of course we do not know of their age difference since she is a teen and he is a man? With all the excitement over the Twilite books, then I am sure the section on Vampires. I had to look at the section on Fantastic Food. I know my Dear Hubby would love it if I had the dress made from salami and bacon. A man's dream! And Princess Emma is dying to get her hands on the massive 5 pound giant Gummi bear. This is an amazing book of course! What world record has amazed you? What oddity have you wanted to see yet was repulsed at yourself for that too? Is there something you wondered about? Where it was at or who did it or how can someone achieve? You may just find it in this record breaking book.
Yeah, it's 2012. So what? This is a great edition. Colourful, interesting and tremendously entertaining. Personal favourite being Mexican artist Enrique Ramos who enjoys painting on spider webs, rice and insects. His cricket creation showing the evolution of Michael Jackson is rather creepy. And, oh yeah Jia Jem! She wore the 'stylish' raw meat dress way before Lady 'fuckface' Gaga.
Most of the book was fine but there was some very upsetting pictures in here. One was a cat with half of a face. One was a duck fetus served as food. There were a couple others but I got rid of the book and those are the two that stayed with me.
I absolutely adored these books as a tween. However, I recently tried rereading this one to see if I should keep them and they’re just too jumpy for me now. Unlike before, I now have the attention span to read a whole book about a topic. I actually kept having to stop and Google more information about facts that interested me, which basically slowed my progress to a halt. Very enjoyable, but I can see why they are aimed at kids/teens. 5/5 (for the target demographic) February 12 2019
This is one of those books that makes you alternate your facial expressions between wonder, horror, disgust and everything else in between. This just proves that there are some crazy people out there and that the world in general is more crazy than most of us ever imagine. Interesting facts and awesome images, although some of them made me a little queasy!!
I love ryplies books. It is amazing to see what these people can do! I thought the tiny teenager was cool with the real size thing in it. I also thought that spiderman tatoo at the end was pretty cool.
I love how you can browse these books and invest as much or as little time as you please. Kids today are totally spoiled today with the colored photos, though.
I originally read this they had in middle school and now that I checked out from the public library, I remember some of those unbelievable facts and OMG! I would laugh a lot in this book.
