By now most of you know that Rita Hestand is from Texas, that she's a widow, a mother, and a grandmother. You know that she was an only child, and that she traveled the US as a child extensively. What made her a writer was the fact that she was an only child growing up in an age when a kid had to use their imagination to entertain themselves. You probably know that she acted out her first books in the backyard all over the countryside.

Rita worked most of her adult life, but one job she’s especially proud of is as a day care provider in her home for twenty years. Helping to raise her own grandchildren to school age, it seemed only natural to enroll in the Institute of Children's Literature, where she graduated in 1997. Rita writes children's books, poetry and romance, along with plays and short stories.

She's a member of Books We Love, WRW, and a firm believer that learning should never stop. But above all, she believes that one should NEVER GIVE UP!

Lovely, independent Hannah O’Leary didn’t want anyone’s help - but she needed it. Without Rusty Travers’ collateral, she’d lose her family ranch and everything she held dear. Thus began a strange partnership, a marriage of convenience for the mutual benefit of both parties. Unfortunately, life is rarely so simple.

Beneath her floppy hat and oversized work clothes, Hannah was downright gorgeous and she’d never seen anyone quite as appealing as her new husband. Rusty was handsome, kind, and a born leader, with an ingrained sense of honor she hadn’t expected. As love begins to blossom, Hannah’s past returns to haunt her, threatening to destroy their fragile relationship and an old flame reappears, presenting Rusty with an immense complication. How can Hannah and Rusty find happiness together?

This novel was such a marvelous escape! Rita Hestand writes with touching tenderness, humor and romance. Her dialogue was surprisingly genuine and her writing style brought me so close to the wonderful characters in this story. They became my friends and it saddened me to turn the final page. I wanted more. I wouldn’t hesitate to read Runaway Bride, Heart of the Wild or some of the other fine novels from this fabulous author.

If you are looking for a shoot 'em up in this romance novel set in west Texas, forget it. It is an easy read when two strangers meet. Rusty Trevors comes from a great ranching family who follow "The Cowboy Code of Ethics." When Hannah returns to her family ranch and about to lose it because of her late father's ineptness she finds herself dealing with the daunting task of finding money to save it. Rusty puts up his rare breed of horses as collateral after his family convinces him he is the person best able to help the woman in need. The couple has their ups and downs, but when all is said and done, the cowboy in the white hat, comes to the rescue and gets more than he bargained for. A bride to boot.
Rita Hestand is great with character, plot and knows a little about romance.
This was truly a great read, and I'm not one to read romance novels. But it made me want to go to my wife and give her a kiss. She asked me what the kiss was for, and I said "I just felt like giving you a kiss." Little did she know I had just finished Hannah's Man.

I have one wish right now and that is to find a man like Hannah's Man. For someone who seldom reads romance books I found this one to be so warming and loving. Hannah is a hard working woman trying to save her father's ranch. Rusty is a hard working cowboy in love with his life long girlfriend Jennifer. But the Travers name and the promise a Travers makes come 1st with Rusty. And the promise Rusty made to his family and Hannah was a promise of marriage to save the ranch.

Will this marriage actually take place? Will the ranch be saved? What will happen to poor Jennifer if Rusty marries Hannah? And what is the Vegas secret that Hannah keeps from Rusty about her past. Find out for yourself as YOU read one of the sweetest romances I've ever read.

This was as good as Chief Cook and bottlewasher and Courting Abby. The travers' family are an honorable and close family. They believe in honoping and helping friends as well as strangers. I will be reading the last one next! I can't wait to see how Rusty's love life goes.

This was a sweet but sappy romance that left me rolling my eyes a few times. Zero heat, just a few kisses.

A must read if only for the unique wedding night. Like nothing you've read before.
