Lynn Lowery was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. As a student of Northwestern University she combined a major in Russian with a major in journalism. She learned to read, write, and speak Russian fluently and developed a special love for Russian history, so that nineteenth-century Russia was a logical choice in setting for her first two romantic novels, Sweet Rush of Passion and Loveswept. With her husband, James Hahn, she has published several articles and books on sociological subjects and community affairs and has written several juvenile books.

2.5⭐️ This is a family saga that spans over 70 years, so there are a lot of time jumps throughout. While that kind of structure can work well sometimes, in this case, the story felt a bit flat and superficial to me. I think books like this are very hit-or-miss depending on the reader. I can see how someone might enjoy the drama but I just couldn’t connect with the story or any of the main characters. The part where she marries and sleeps with her stepson was especially cringey for me.
