Paul Ruditis also writes under the name P.J. Ruditis.
I was born and raised in Philadelphia where I lived a typical childhood with a far more interesting fantasy life. I mean, how many other eight year olds were sticking their Star Wars action figures in Ziploc bags filled with water and putting them in the freezer to recreate the ice planet of Hoth? (Really? That many? Never mind.)
After college, I moved to Los Angeles and was very lucky to get a job as a page at Paramount Pictures only months after I got into town. I worked as a tour guide and usher, and I performed temp office work around the lot. Eventually, I took a position working in the studio's licensing department where I quickly worked my way up to middle management.
After a while, one of my friends in the publishing industry offered me the opportunity to write a Buffy, The Vampire Slayer short story for a collection she was editing. Well, when I heard how little money I could make as a writer, I immediately quit my job to try it full time. (Stupid, I know, but it kind of worked for me.)
I started out by writing books based on such wonderful TV shows as Star Trek, Roswell, and Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. I have since written over 30 books based some of the best shows on TV, adding The West Wing, Alias, and Prison Break to that ever growing list.
While I continue to work on these media tie-ins, I have also been focused more on my own original fiction, including my teen series DRAMA! and the Simon Pulse Romantic Comedy Love, Hollywood Style.
This would've made a great episode! Puck was a fun, though mischievous, character, but that was half his charm. I thought it was hilarious all the pranks he pulled on the sisters, but I didn't expect I think fans of the show would really enjoy this book.
Season six because Wyatt and a mention of Jason Dean.
As the title suggests yes, we are dealing with Puck from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream but given liberties as a character that is very in public domain.
He needs the help of the Charmed Ones and their Power of Three to vanquish a demon targeting an Innocent at the recent circus that has come to San Francisco, The Fletcher Family Circus.
How Puck goes to lengths to get the Charmed Ones on this is hilarious by posing to each one as a cleaning service, a computer technician and a nature hiking enthusiast with puns to his identity as clues. Mischievous yet not one to take lightly as he is quite powerful, as mentioned by past witches in the Book of Shadows, Puck needs to see if they are worth being allied or enemies.
Not ones to ignore innocents, Paige and Phoebe go to check out the circus while Piper stays with Wyatt as Leo is currently busy with a meeting of Elders and Whitelighters. Phoebe soon learns that the innocent is actually not a person, but an elephant named Tasha.
Other animals in the circus such as a tiger named Zeus and a horse named Sabra have already been casualties to a demon who preys on the life energy of animals, gaining their abilities and strength the larger the animal. The circus veterinarian doesn't give the elephant much time as she is very lethargic.
They have to find the demon hidden among the people employed with the circus and vanquish it before it can give one final deadly touch to the poor pachyderm.
The story is very straight-forward with the premise, but we do get a few little surprises and some laughs. The downer side is that we have to deal with animals in danger and for me personally, that is more tragic. Another note that probably is why I gave As Puck Would Have It three stars is...there are clowns.
Another nice "Charmed" book. This one the Holliwell Sisters are met with a challenge from the "mythical" character Puck/ Robin Goodfellow from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". All in all a nice quick read as most of them are. Although this one didn't give me much of "would make a nice episode of the television series" vibe that most of them give me. I still enjoyed it very much and with it I met my reading challenge for the year 2023.
This story made me chuckle out loud a few times. It's a typical Charmed tie in novel, but still a nice enough story. There's also a very nice reference to the Harry Potter universe on page 92. Puck's character is also a bit Dobby-esque in that he likes to accept articles of clothing as payment for his services.
Really enjoyed this one, bit of a different feel to it with the demon having a smaller part in comparison to Puck which was a fun and refreshing part of the story. Constantly wondering if he’s good or bad, and which character he’s shifted into all the time! I liked that the innocents were animals aswell and having the circus as the main setting was a nice change.

This is the first time I actually pick out a book that's based on a real TV Series, and much to my delight, it's pretty much a really good tied-in book! I would recommend any other Charmed fan to pick up this book to read.
In "As Puck Would Have It", the Charmed ones stumble upon an odd character which turned out to be the being named Puck which literally a charcater referance from the "A Midsummer Night's Dream". He's pretty much trouble for the Charmed ones, bearing a mysterious task for them, bringing them to the circus to search for the Innocent he wanted them to save. The problem was, Puck didn't tell them directly who they are trying to save. In trying to look for their Innocent, They've stumbled onto the mysterious deaths of two of the circus's star animals.
Reading this book is like watching the series itself in the tv in your head. Pretty much well written and the plots are well thought. It had pretty much pulled me into this book, turning page after page once I have had started.
Charmed novels, like Charmed the tv show are very enjoyable, if incredibly lightweight. This book follows that pattern although it does have an unexpected twist to it.
