I first read this book back in 1988, when I was a mere 13 years old. Though the obviously a bit dated now, it’s still a highly informative and insightful look into the elite (and in a few tragic cases, not so elite) counterterrorism and hostage rescue units in the Western and non-Western world alike, tools, tactics, training, and weapons alike. To this day, I still use this book as research/reference material for my online Masters in Intelligence Studies (concentration in Terrorism Studies) program at American Military University (AMU).
