This Ninth Edition provides students and professionals with the most complete coverage of the theory and practice of environmental control system design currently available. Encompassing mechanical and electrical systems for buildings of all sizes, it provides design guidelines and detailed design procedures for each topic covered. It also includes information on the latest technologies, new and emerging design trends, and relevant codes and zoning restrictions - and its more than 1,500 illustrations, tables, and high-quality photographs provide a quick reference for both students and busy professionals.
This is a well written, articulate, and approachable tome on a complex subject. It simplifies the subject matter without being simplistic, and is full to the brim with useful and effective diagrams of various system types. Descriptions are pithy and to the point, and - for its huge size - it is reasonably priced, in an area (building services engineering) where books are not usually cheap. So I could pick at details (eg the use of underfloor supply air systems in examples, when I've never seen them used in real life, at least in Australia), but the sheer volume and generosity of information available makes me feel petty and mean spirited for doing this.
